This powerful woman is breaking barriers and laying the groundwork for women in construction! Lauren Marsh is the CEO and President of Ridgeline Construction, a family-run business that specializes in roofing, siding, gutters, and other exterior construction for residential and commercial buildings. She has been at the helm of the business since 2012 and has grown it to a leading industry force with four locations across Alabama and Florida.

As her husband, Terry, serves as Vice President/COO, and her daughter, Lili-Grace, has joined the team, to follow in her parents' footsteps. We had the opportunity to sit down with this inspiring leader to discuss her experience as a leading woman in a male-dominated industry, working with her spouse, and how to find the balance between her role as a CEO and motherhood.

We love our little city, but the crown for Madison’s star cheerleader goes to Erica DeSpain, founder & CEO of All Things Madison.  She’s a visionary storyteller with a passion for her hometown and a love for sharing everything it has to offer.

After graduating from the University of Alabama and seeing the world as an active-duty Army wife, Erica and her family decided to return to Madison to plant roots and raise their three young daughters. In 2020, she tapped into her background in journalism, public speaking, and education to create All Things Madison, an online “one stop shop” resource for those who live, work in, or visit Madison. In it, Erica uses her craft of storytelling to produce highly engaging content as a means of marketing and advertising for local businesses.

Kim Caulde Lewis is a lifelong resident of North Alabama, born and raised on a farm in Triana and currently living in Harvest with her family.

Kim started her first business in 2002 and has continued to create jobs and economic growth in North Alabama ever since. She is the founder of PROJECTXYZ, a business that provides services in technology, manufacturing, and engineering to commercial and governmental customers. She and her husband, Larry, own and operate multiple businesses across North Alabama like the Entrepreneurial Center (TEC 515), an incubator facility for start-up companies and small businesses in need of support.

Kim’s success as a businesswoman has afforded her the opportunity to invest in small businesses across North Alabama, saving jobs in danger of being lost and ensuring anchors in the community continue into the next generation.  

In addition to her personal business success, Kim has served the community as Chair of the Huntsville/Madison County Chamber of Commerce, the first Black female ever elected as Board Chair. In her time as Chair in 2019, she led $1.8 billion in capital investment in Huntsville, Madison and Limestone County and helped create over 3,000 new jobs.  

Kim has quietly served her community in a number of other ways as well—on boards for Huntsville Utilities, Cummings Research Park, Crestwood Medical Center, Health Establishments at Local Schools (HEALS), the University of Alabama Huntsville (UAH) Foundation, and the John C. Calhoun State Community College Foundation Board and on the PTA at her daughter’s school.

Stephanie Malone is a visionary leader who empowers young girls to be STRONG, SMART, and BOLD through her work with Girls Inc. of Huntsville.   

This organization focuses on empowering the next generation of workforce leaders through its research-based programming, which entails education on emotional intelligence, self-care, economic and social barriers, and how to become independent, self-sufficient women. Through her passionate influence, resourceful mindset, and ability to rally a community around critical needs, Stephanie has grown Girls Inc. of Huntsville to become an organization making generational impacts for thousands of young women and their families.   

Stephanie’s accomplishments with the 50th Anniversary Fuel Her Fire campaign deserve admiration and applause. To commemorate 50 years of service to the community, Stephanie secured 23-time grand slam winner Serena Williams as a featured guest for her biggest fundraising gala of the year! Through outpouring support from the community, this visionary leader raised over $450,000 to not only empower an additional 3,000 girls in our community but also contribute to expansion efforts!

Motherhood, Fashion, Community & Cancer: The Inspirational Story of Ciera Elledge.  

Badass bitch, charcuterie aficionado, trending fashionista and Uber cheer Mom are just a few of the names used to describe Ciera, our SheBoss for September. 

In addition to those names mentioned above, Ciera is also the Community Engagement Manager at CommentSold, a philanthropist, and the Founder of Her Fight Foundation.  

Ciera is a native to Huntsville, AL, where by day, she runs the community engagement platform for one of the fastest growing (and most successful)  live selling technology companies within the retail industry. By night, she fuels safe conversations by creating judgement free zones for those interested in Gastric Sleeve procedures to help improve overall health. Her inspirational journey of massive weight loss was upended when faced with a Cervical Cancer diagnoses coupled with continued health hiccups. 

Ciera’s journey is one of hope, relentless persistence to overcome challenges and a continued desire to keep going - no matter what.

Dr. Mulder is a Huntsville-based psychologist with a passion for helping the LGBTQ+ community. Lee is answering her God-given call to be a voice for children who wait! Born into foster care, and adopted at the age of 2, Lee knows first hand the difference a forever family can make. Through her Kids to Love Foundation, she is carrying out her purpose to find families for foster children and meeting their immediate needs while they wait to be adopted. Since Lee founded Kids to Love in 2004, the foundation has impacted the lives of more than 265,000 foster children.   

Lee is a 3-time Emmy award-winning journalist. After 20 years in TV News, she signed off from the anchor desk in 2015 to launch her dream of the Kids to Love Center. Just like Lee, Kids to Love also got its start in television. Lee presents a weekly segment that aims to recruit “Forever Families.” Each week, Lee introduces a new child waiting in foster care to prospective families across the Tennessee Valley and to her more than 95,000 followers on social media. She has helped find permanent homes for more than 200 children through her weekly segment.  

Lee’s vision and heart, especially for teen-age foster children who will age out of care, compelled her to dream big, and in March 2015 she launched the Kids to Love Center.  The center is home to KTECH, a workforce training site for young adults, focusing on those in foster care, vets needing a skill set to reenter the workforce, and others who are underserved through traditional constraints of education. Launched in 2016, KTECH has awarded more than 100 certifications. In 16 weeks KTECH students earn 4 industry-recognized certifications to meet the increasing demands of our manufacturing rich community.
