Pollyana Paradox by Stephenie Georgia
Shetland Arts in collaboration with Shetland Womens Aid, Islesburgh Drama Group and the Shetland Compass Centre present Pollyanna Paradox, a play written for radio by Stephenie Georgia with support from survivors of domestic abuse in Shetland.
PLEASE NOTE: 'Pollyanna Paradox' includes potentially upsetting themes with references to domestic abuse including coercive control, physical and sexual violence.

The radio broadcast of this play on BBC Radio Shetland did not go ahead as planned as BBC regulations lead to the removal of two key scenes, which compromised its integrity and no longer gave an accurate representation of the survivors’ voices who supported the creation of this work. Instead, the play has been broadcast on Shetland Arts’ channels with the agreement and support of the BBC Radio Shetland team - we hope you will join us, listen in, and share this important work far and wide to support the end of gender-based violence. It is imperative that women’s lived experiences and voices are not silenced, and that we all check our bias, knowledge, and understanding to enable necessary change in our culture.

LOCUS | A Lerwick public art trail
The audio guide for LOCUS, a new public art trail in Lerwick. Featuring four pieces of public sculpture and two painted murals.
Jane Matthews and Edna Irvine introduce you to LOCUS, before taking you on a suggested route through the town centre, where you'll hear from each of the artists involved in the first stage of the project.
0.00: Jane Matthews, Exhibition Manager at Shetland Arts, introduces LOCUS.
1.50: Edna Irvine from Smith and Robertson and Director at Living Lerwick explores the history of the town.
2.59: Kenny Hunter dives into As Above so Below (C&Js, Commercial Road).
4.37: Ruth Hamilton from Civic Soup unwinds The Never-Ending Gansey (Hillhead, flower bed beside Children's Panel Shetland).
7.09: David Lemm climbs Stakamillabakka (Shetland Parliamentary Office, Commercial Street).
9.20: Gavin Renshaw creates a storm with PUSH/PULL (Bayes/No.88, Commercial Street).
