Darkness vs. Light: Current Events through the Lens of the Torah's Beginning
In this episode, Rabbi Shlomo explores the beginning of the Torah, Parshat Bereishis to draw out deeper messages that relate to the situation with our brothers and sisters in Israel and across the world.
The following was Rabbi Shlomo's message on social media:
We are in this together.
We are mourning the losses of our brothers, sisters, and children who were brutally slaughtered and whose beautiful, precious, and pure souls have returned to their Maker.
We are praying for the brave warriors who will defend our brothers and sisters in Israel. May the Master of the World watch over them and give them success in their mission to protect us and return the captives home to their loved ones.
We are processing the painful realization that there is real evil in this world. It is no longer Holocaust stories from the past. It is right before our eyes. Captured on video and posted in our social media feeds. And then defended by celebrities, influencers, and people right here on our soil who we believed were civilized people.
We are sharing our love with all Jews, and encouraging our community to look beyond religious differences, labels, and affiliations and love each other like crazy right now!!! This is something we can all do from the comfort of our home... even greater if we can express it in some way!
We are seeing the power of good and we are grateful to those who stand with us. To those who post and speak words of solidarity with Israel and with the Jewish people. Who remind us that we are not alone in this world. That there is light in the darkness.
(Please encourage both Jews and non-Jews to speak up!!!)
We urge everyone in our community to pray just a little deeper. To open your hearts to others. To open up your hand in charity. To smile and find joy in this difficult time and to share that joy with someone who needs it. To not be consumed by the darkness.
We believe that there is ONE ABOVE who loves us dearly!!! Who is so mysterious and impossible to understand. Who makes us cry and question. But who has a masterplan and won't let go. When the curtain closes the mystery will be solved. But we aren't there yet. So we will just hold on tight until we get there.
We are here to talk. We are here to listen. Please reach out.

Experiencing the Holy Temple in our own Spiritual Practice (Part 4): Step-by-Step into the Inner Realms of Prayer
The time period that we are in now is commonly referred to as "The Three Weeks of Mourning", when we commemorate the destruction of the Holy Temple and Jerusalem on two different occasions in our history. But we can only feel the depth of these weeks if we understand what the Holy Temple represented and feel some connection to it.
In this mini-series, we will explore the secrets of the Holy Temple, what it represented and how we can connect to that in our own spiritual practice today, especially in the domain of prayer. We will explore how the morning prayer is structured to recreate the Temple experience, and how we can all taste the holiness of the Temple if we step up our awareness of the true essence of prayer.
This is the fourth and final episode (for now!). In this episode we go deeper into the four sections of prayer and the main passages and themes of each one and show how they correspond to the four sections of the Temple, the four inner realms and the four elements of earth, water, wind, and fire.

R' David Lapin: Discover Your Spiritual Fingerprint and Thrive in Business and Life!
David Lapin is one of the world’s leading thinkers in the fields of leadership and business transformation. As a scholar, speaker, columnist, author of Lead by Greatness (Avoda Books, 2012), and founder of Lapin International, he has helped thousands of leaders and organizations distinguish themselves and elevate performance at every level.
David’s every engagement is grounded in his humanist philosophy of leadership known as Lead by Greatness®—a blueprint for personal achievement and business growth forged during the turbulent post-Apartheid period in his native South Africa. During this time, in collaboration with Nelson Mandela’s government and an assembly of influential business leaders, David drafted one of the world’s first formal codes of corporate ethics. Known as the Code of Ethics for the King Commission on Corporate Governance, it is still in practice today.
Inspired by his success in applying Lead by Greatness® principles in the country’s then-blighted business sector, David founded Lapin International in 1989 to help businesses and organizations around the world strengthen the collaborative forces that promote their growth and creativity.
From training over 100,000 law enforcement officers—including the Los Angeles Police Department—to build trust through community engagement, to helping a global Real Estate Investment Trust expand its portfolio from $2 billion in one country to $11 billion in 15 countries, to helping a Native American hospitality group grow its revenue by nearly 700% in eight years, he has spent the past two decades deploying his unique approach in some of the world’s most intricate corporate and cultural contexts.

A Kabbalistic Tu B'Shvat Seder from Tzfat- Featuring Eliyahu Pereira (of Two Chassids in a Pod)
Tu B'Shvat, the 15th of Shevat on the Jewish calendar is called the “new year” for trees as this day marks the season in which the earliest-blooming trees in the Land of Israel emerge from their winter sleep and begin a new fruit-bearing cycle. There is much Kabbalistic literature about the deeper essence of Tu B'Shvat and the lessons we learn and apply to ourselves.
Originally from Miami, Eliyahu Pereira was an adventurous teen who came to Israel over 12 years ago. He has served in the IDF, went to learn in Yeshiva, got connected and inspired by some of the great mystics of Israel, and has now begun to build a family in the holy city of Tzfat. He creates powerful Kabbastic media content and is the Co-Founder of the podcast Two Chassids In A Pod.

Hip-Hop Artist Nissim Black: The Struggle of Success; the Power of Authenticity; & the Challenges of Bridging Two Worlds
Nissim Black grew up in Seattle as Damian Jamohl Black. His parents were pioneers in the Seattle hip hop scene and his grandparents had also been musicians, playing alongside Ray Charles and Quincy Jones. His childhood was extremely disturbing, both his biological parents and then his stepfather used and sold drugs from home, his mother was arrested; and later died from an overdose. Nissim himself was also involved in gang life in his early years and at age 18 began his career in the gangster rap scene.
He was raised Islam, converted to Christianity at age 14, and after a long and intense search for God and spirituality, eventually converted to Judaism in 2012. At that point Nissim exploded back on to the music scene, this time creating music with powerful messages about faith and personal growth. Today, Nissim is a Hasidic Jew living in Israel who is still bringing his sharp beats and hooked-filled rhymes to the masses.
