Episode #287 - You can beat whatever is plaguing you
After being thrown out of a Las Vegas hotel in a drunken haze, jeopardizing his career and relationships, Nick Klingensmith had to make a change. A 4-time cancer survivor, type-1 diabetic, and recovering alcoholic with 4 herniated discs, nerve damage, and sleep apnea, he defies it all when he finds Obstacle Course Racing. Refusing to accept his circumstances, he finishes numerous obstacle races, the Boston and Chicago Marathons, and the Spartan Ultra, culminating in 127 miles of endurance racing in 6 weeks. This isn’t just a story about a drunk, diabetic cancer patient who overcomes adversity to become a mediocre, middle-aged athlete. His story focuses less on physical achievements and more on his mental and spiritual approach to overcoming life’s challenges. Nick is a raw and passionate storyteller who holds nothing back when revealing who he used to be and the person he is now. The circumstances he faces show others that they are not alone and that they too can defy their limitations.

Episode #281 - How do you define living life?
Helping me answer that question and to speak about all things health-related is Jen Beck!
If you are ready to experience love for your body and make food your friend again, I am your gal! My name is Jen Beck and for the last 15+ years, I have worked with clients dealing with chronic conditions to folks that have struggled with their weight their entire lives, and across all age spectrums from kids to 80-year-olds – so I know no 2 bodies are alike, nor are their issues the same. Most people struggle to make sense of all the so-called expert advice out there.
It breaks my heart to see people fail through 15 different diets, suffer through knee surgeries, wake up feeling like crap, and go through life believing “This is as good as it gets”… and I see this with people in their 30s! I was just like that, and I turned it around. I can help you figure out exactly what you need and how to make it work within your busy lifestyle! I will be your guide, cheerleader, and support along your journey to find what your body needs specifically for you to feel fantastic, so you can fall in love with your food, body, and life again.
I swore in my 20s that I would do whatever it takes to make it so that no family had to endure what we did. I have been on a mission ever since! In my 20’s, I was living on coffee, Diet Mountain Dew, sugar, and convenience foods. I was dragging through the day, getting sick a couple of times a year and just not feeling awesome, but I had no idea how bad it had gotten because my health had declined so gradually I hadn’t noticed. Then I got a wake-up call! I was 26, standing in my mom’s living room watching her entire life being sorted through as she was being packed up to move into a nursing home at 49 years old! Through research, I found that with a different lifestyle, this situation may have been completely avoidable, or at least delayed by many, many years. I saw people reverse disease, and reclaim their health from “terminal” and chronic diseases that I had previously believed were life sentences.

Joining me today is Author, speaker, and mentor Trish Springsteen!
So how did I get from that shy Trish who was not at all confident, who would avoid speaking, who had potential but didn’t have the confidence to fulfill that potential. I had and still have a very supportive family – who told me you can do anything you want, be anything – go for it. Those are great words – only they are just words if you don’t believe in those words and that was me – no confidence, no self-belief. It was not until I had a mentor who pushed me, challenged me, believed in me, and helped me to believe in myself that I grew into who I am and am comfortable with who I am. That is why I love mentoring, love finding ways to make it easy for clients to find you, why I love working with introverts and those who are letting their mindset and limiting beliefs stop them from being all that they can be.

How would your life feel like then?

Episode #253 - How to face the pain that you are hiding from...
Joining the show today is Angela Legh!
I lived through much adversity; and as it is said, what didn't kill me made me stronger. I had an abusive, alcoholic father whose behavior had a major impact on my life. Based on his behavior, my young mind decided that rage was an emotion no one should feel. My judgment of anyone who became enraged did not serve me well in my first marriage, nor in my life.
A wildfire destroyed our home . . . that was the catalyst for significant change in my life. Over 12 months, I lost my home to fire, left my marriage, quit my job, and moved across the world. During this journey, I discovered many tools for overcoming adversity and achieving emotional balance. I now share these tools with children through the power of story; because with this knowledge, they can make better life choices.

Episode #252 - How to heal from past pain
Joining the show is Certified Divorce Coach Kelli Calabrese!
After my excruciatingly painful divorce, I got certified as a Divorce Coach to get healed and help others do the same.
I founded Intentionally Fabulous and began my mission to help women going through any stages of separation and divorce go from fearful to fearlessly pursuing what sets their soul on fire.
I take a spirit, mind-body approach to help women redefine themselves to live an extraordinary bonus life filled with peace, joy, gratitude, self-love, and celebration.
My approach to healing from divorce isn’t like anything else you will find. How do I know? Because it’s the program I needed when I was where you are now, and it wasn’t anywhere to be found.
My divorce left me filled with anxiety and in a state of depression. I went looking for help but it was all so scattered it was tough to find what I really needed.
I went on a quest to learn about how to heal from what I was experiencing. The result was a path that took me from that empty place to one of joy, freedom, and peace.
That’s what I want for you. That’s what Intentionally Fabulous is all about.

Episode #246 - How Cactus became the new leather...
Joining the show is Renia Pruchnicki, Founder of Truth Belts!
I started Truth in 2001. I made belts from my apartment in downtown Toronto.
I was determined to create a life I loved and at the same time, I wanted to do something that would make a difference to our planet.
Since I had no experience with leather, I made my belts out of what I like to call ‘Genuine Non-Leather’.
I thought it was a clever phrase and decided to stamp all of my ‘leather-look’ belts with this phrase on the back. Funny!
Renia Starting Truth Belts
Over the years, as my approach to design has developed, my personal interests and lifestyle choices have also evolved – more and more, they aligned with and reinforce the innate philosophy of Truth.
I strongly believe as a business owner I can make choices that make a difference to our planet.
Mother nature needs our help right now. Nature is here to support humans and it seems like all we have done is abuse and exploit her to fulfill our own selfish desires. Us humans are currently behaving in a way no animal would ever treat their herd, flock, pod, or swarm.
We have forgotten we are part of nature. That’s why I choose to have my products made in Canada and to use animal-friendly materials.

I needed to heal my soul and find my path, and it was time to discover my purpose aside from being a mother/caretaker. While in San Diego, I was introduced to the Fraternal Spiritualist Church and an amazing group of people that helped change my life and put me on a path of healing and growth. Episode #239 - How to break free from the pain of sexual abuse
Joining the show is Rachel Grant! In her words...
I want to put a stop to survivors of abuse feeling broken, unfixable, and absolutely frustrated because it seems nothing they do is helping. Honestly, it really pisses me off when survivors are not able to have the lives and relationships they deserve. Whenever I hear stories of survivors giving up, falling deeper and deeper into despair, or worse, being further traumatized by people who are supposed to help, I get so upset. It also reminds me of my past and how excruciating life was for twenty-plus years.
I was definitely convinced that there was no way out of the pain, constant instability, and feeling of worthlessness. It sucked, but I found a way out and I would love to support you in doing that as well.
With hope,
