These things matter. Unless well educate ourselves about what is going on in American politics we will pay a high price.
This is not about us and them or Democrat versus Republican. This is about the policies and intentions of our current administration and those of the folks running for President of the United States in 2024. It is not a personality contest. It must be about policies and how the polices of the elected President have and will affect our lives and our country.
Please educate yourself. Do the research. Determine for yourself what is best for you and your loved ones.
Do not put your head in the sand and believe every talking head in the media.
Do You Know What Is Going On At The Southern Border. Here Are Some Facts
The southern border of the United States is a mess. Do you know the facts about what is going on with illegal immigrants entering our country? If you don't you should because it's not good. If you are okay with the millions of illegals who have entered our country since 2020, this episode is not for you. If you don't know what is going on or if you are concerned, listen to this episode.
In my humble opinion we are on the brink of disaster if we don't get a handle on securing the border. The wide-open border has led to drug overdoses, child rape trafficking, child labor, unmanageable circumstances in many of our cities, and possible terrorist entering our country. Nothing about an open border has made the United States better.
The question is, what is the downside of a secure border?

The Loneliness Epidemic
A lot of men and women and boys and girls are feeling lonely these days. Are you one of them? Have you been able to put a finger on what brought on these feelings of being alone? The TRUTH About Happiness
You can have flaws, be anxious, and even angry, but do not forget that your life is the greatest enterprise in the world. Only you can stop it from going bust. Many appreciate you, admire you and love you.
Remember that to be happy is not to have a sky without a storm, a road without accidents, work without fatigue, relationships without disappointments.
To be happy is to find strength in forgiveness, hope in battles, security in the stage of fear, love in discord. It is not only to enjoy the smile, but also to reflect on the sadness. It is not only to celebrate the successes, but to learn lessons from the failures. It is not only to feel happy with the applause, but to be happy in anonymity.
To be happy is to stop feeling like a victim and become your destiny’s author. It is to cross deserts, yet be able to find an oasis in the depths of your soul. It is to thank God for every morning, for the miracle of life.
Being happy is not being afraid of your own feelings. It is having the courage to hear a “no”. It is confidence in the face of criticism, even when unjustified. It is to kiss your children, pamper your parents, to live poetic moments with friends, even when they hurt us. To be happy is to let live the creature that lives in each of us, free, joyful and simple.
It is to have the maturity to be able to say: “I made mistakes”. It is to have the courage to say “I am sorry”. It is to have the sensitivity to say, “I need you”. It is to have the ability to say “I love you”.
May your life become a garden of opportunities for happiness. That in spring may it be a lover of joy. In winter, a lover of wisdom. And when you make a mistake, start all over again. For only then will you be in love with life.
You will find that to be happy is not to have a perfect life. But use the tears to irrigate tolerance. Use your losses to train patience. Use your mistakes to sculpt serenity. Use pain to plaster pleasure. Use obstacles to open windows of intelligence.
Never give up. Never give up on people who love you. Never give up on happiness, for life is an incredible show.

The TRUTH About How Much Stuff We Have
How much stuff do you have that you don't need? How much time and energy do your spend looking after it and storing it?
The following are statistics about how we spend our money on the stuff in our lives.
Be honest, do you have things that you can sell, donate or flat-out take to the dumpster? Let's use today as a starting point for making better decisions about the stuff we choose the have in our lives and how we can make better use of our hard-earned money,

1. Women are 27% more likely than men to have no retirement savings.
2. The average household has 300,000 items.
3. Nearly 10% of households also rent self-storage units.
4. The average person who takes out a new car loan takes out $27,000.
5. 68% of people live paycheck to paycheck.
6. Annually, an average of $220 per person is spent on the lottery.
7. The average person spends 12 days per year looking for things they can’t find.
8. 26% have no emergency savings.
9. In the last few decades, the average home has nearly tripled in size.
10. Women spend 399 hours and 46 minutes shopping each year.
11. The median amount saved for retirement is less than $60,000.
12. The average household has $7,283 in credit card debt.
13. The average person wastes their gym membership.
14. The average student loan debt is $32,264.
Are You Telling The TRUTH About Your Health?
The TRUTH is 41.9% of Americans are obese.
Another 32.5% are overweight.
This means that 74.4% of people are not taking good care of themselves. Are you one of them?

The Truth About Wholesome & Healthy Relationships
For years I was in a relationship I knew I should not be in; it was toxic and lacked integrity. It wasn't until my dad died that I understood that my feelings of unworthiness were untrue. I had piled on years of reasons as to why I was undeserving of endearing love and affection. After climbing out of a very deep hole of not being good enough and shame, I came to these conclusions:
1. I had to understand and commit to self-love.
2. I had to do a deep dive into my beliefs.
3. I had to identify and declare my values.
In this episode, I read an excerpt from my book Keep Your Ass In The Saddle. I share my thoughts about what it takes to get to a place where we are ready to enter into a romantic relationship with another person. I hope you get something out of my experience.

From Hostage Negotiator to Cancer Warrior with Terry Tucker
Before he was a cancer survivor, author Terry Tucker wore a lot of hats. He was an NCAA Division I college basketball player, a Citadel cadet, a marketing executive, a hospital administrator, and a SWAT Team Hostage Negotiator, that all changed when a callous on the bottom of his foot was diagnosed as rare cancer.

Post-Pandemic Investor Perspectives with Kimberly Guha
In May 2020, UBS Investor Watch surveyed investors as the first wave of the pandemic was ebbing. In their report, “Setting a new course,” they found that investors were fearful, uncertain, and reassessing what was most important to them.
Fast forward to today, with vaccinations accelerating, commerce recovering, and restrictions loosening, the current UBS research shows a reprioritizing of goals—and a more acute sense that life is short.
But rather than indiscriminate spending and frenzied celebrations, the hallmarks of this post-pandemic recovery will likely be more measured—and more meaningful.
To be sure, many investors intend to make up for lost time, led by those in Asia. Nearly six in 10 investors want to indulge in the things they missed while in isolation, with travel and entertainment topping the list of planned expenditures.
But something else is going on.
Seven in 10 investors want to make more of a difference in the world. Six in 10 report that the pandemic made them more spiritual. Forty percent say they want to be part of something bigger than themselves.
Digging deeper, we found that women and younger investors were most affected by the pandemic. Women were more likely than men, for example, to reassess their priorities. And by a huge margin, younger investors value making a difference in the world (79% vs. 51% of investors over age 50).
With this new perspective, investors are more interested in using their capital to effect change—nearly half plan to increase charitable giving from their pre-pandemic levels, led by Latin America. And almost 60% are more interested in investing sustainably than they were before the pandemic.
As a global recovery continues to advance, look not just for hotels and stadiums to fill up, but hearts and minds too.

Common Questions around supplements: 1. Why is there so much confusion around supplements a. Conflicting, misquoted, or poor quality research– we must dig into the data! i. Vitamin E, alpha-d-tocopherol in isolation vs. in combination with d- gamma-tocopherol. ii. Beta-Carotene: smokers (accelerated DNA damage) vs. non-smokers, heavy alcohol drinkers (hepatotoxicity).
b. Each person is unique, and we have to put the data into the context of the complex person in front of us!
2. My friend’s trainer/friend/family member recommended x, should I take it also? 3. How do I know if a supplement is working or I’m taking a supplement, and I don’t notice a change? a. DOSE and TYPE matter! E.g., Magnesium glycinate, threonate, citrate, oxide b. Loading period: glucosamine + Chondroitin – 6 months until we see results. 4. Can’t I get everything through my diet? a. Food-system and growing inconsistencies b. High toxic burden c. Inconsistent dietary patterns or limited diversity 5. Can I take X and eat what I want? NO! You cannot out-supplement a bad diet! a. Progressions: add Turmeric, Ginger, Black pepper for general anti-inflammatory properties. Dealing with acute or chronic inflammation? Consider supplemental curcumin + BioPerine (both are active ingredients of turmeric & black pepper) at therapeutic dose. Again, we must consider the unique individual. Curcumin has blood-sugar-lowering properties. High doses may be contraindicated in specific populations.
Three main questions (and sub-questions) to ask yourself when thinking about supplements: 1. What is the goal/desired outcome you hope to gain from the supplement? a. Is this for general wellness or targeted nutritional therapy? b. What is the health status of the person, and are there any contraindications? 2. What is the appropriate type of supplement? a. Does the form of the supplement match the indicated use? Examples Magnesium, Curcumin, or zinc. b. Is this the most effective supplement to reach the desired outcome from question #1. c. Are there additional co-factors or considerations that need to be taken into account?
3. Is the dose and timeline for supplementation adequate to meet the desired outcome?
a. E.g., fish oil, Glucosamine + Chondroitin, and Vitamin C.
Guidelines for Supplementation: 1. Diet first! You cannot out supplement a bad diet.

Plant-based: high consumption of plants based foods, e.g., vegetables, legumes, grains, etc. Diet may or may not contain animal products. Vegan: 100% plant-based diet. complete elimination of animal products. 4. Do you recommend or caution the use of any of these diets?
5. How does a person figure out what is the best diet for them, and what are some things that they should be looking out for? Any recommendation for specific age groups? What about weight loss?
1. Track your food and how it impacts your body. We need to create awareness about the choices we make and how they affect our bodies and our health. 2. You need to EAT to LOSE weight. If you starve your body, you will not build muscle. Your body will go into preservation mode and hold onto fat. 3. If something isn't working for you, STOP DOING it. Find something new. Be curious and ask questions. Be mindful of confirmation bias. 4. SOCIAL MEDIA is often stronger than science. Don't be afraid to follow the sources back to the original research.

In 2013, Marji Guyler-Alaniz had just left her job in corporate agriculture and started a photo project titled FarmHer, capturing women working on the farm. She wasn't the only one interested in updating the image of agriculture and others began to follow the movement.
FarmHer quickly grew into a place where stories are shared and women are not only recognized but feel a sense of inspiration and community. Today the business consists of various entities, all shining a light on women in agriculture.
