Functional Equivalent (FE) Hand model created by researchers Gregor Harih, Milos Kalc, Matjaz Vogrin, and Marion Fodor-Mühldorfer shows a high validation compared to current computer models. These findings may lead to more precise hand grasping with robotic hands. 

Research from the Department of Life Science and Systems Engineering at the Kyushu Institute of Technology in Japan, reveals a dielectric elastomer that is made into a stretch sensor to measure body joint motions and plays a role in future wearables. The researchers, Nitin Kumar Singh, Kazuto Takashima, and Tomohiro Shibata, also discuss that a basic calibration technique integrated with microelectronics, used with these type of sensors, can easily capture motion and can also be paired with a mobile application, which is capable of visualizing the recorded 3D movement in real time domain, thus having the potential to be used in wearables.
