S2.Ep.13. Survivor Story ~ Kath
In this Survivor Story episode, Stacie has the honour of speaking with Kath from Ireland giving a different sexual trauma experience that we haven't heard on the podcast before - stranger violence/assault in adulthood. Many of the experiences shared so far have been in childhood and so Kath and her story gives a voice to those who have experienced sexual assault in adulthood. We honour those victims who have lost their lives during violent sexual attacks - those that didn't survive. We hold them in our hearts during this episode. No specific details are given about the incident in this episode, the focus is about raising awareness of the isolation survivors of this type of abuse experience. Kath, although remains anonymous, wishes to offer to be a point of contact if there are any other survivors who have experienced a similar type of trauma and want to be connected to share the healing journey. You can contact Stacie who can then put you in touch with Kath. Thank you Kath for sharing your much needed voice and experience. As always, take care whilst listening - look after yourself first.

S2.Ep.12. Navigating sex after trauma ~ with Louise Milne
*Take extra care when listening to this episode* In this guest episode, Stacie and Louise take on the very sensitive topic of navigating sex after sexual trauma. They vulnerably share their own personal journey's which coincidentally have similar themes. Sexual intimacy and relationships can be extremely difficult to navigate when often survivor's are still in the trauma response. As aways, there are many potential varying experiences however, the hope in sharing this conversation is that it is a safe space to reflect upon your own experience and recognise what you need to heal after sexual trauma. We give you permission to be exactly where you are and encourage you to question unserving beliefs you may have about yourself and your sexuality; trauma often has a way of creating limiting beliefs and behaviours. You can connect with Louise on Instagram (@_LouiseMilne).

S2.Ep.11. Thriver Story ~ Roxana
In this guest episode, Stacie is honoured to share Roxana Marilao's 'Thriver story'. Roxana vulnerably shares her experiences of sexual abuse and assault including her courageous journey of healing. This episode covers familial trauma and healing, types of abusers/abuse experiences, reporting abuse to the police, advocating for children to speak their truth and reclaiming our power after abuse. Thank you Roxana for sharing your truth, vulnerability and journey with us here to help others. Roxana leaves our Spanish speaking listeners a message at the end which is such a gift. This episode may be triggering for some listeners so as always, look after yourself and what you need.

S2.Ep.10. To Report or Not to Report - Seeking Justice after SA
Stacie chats with her sister Katherine on this very topical subject of whether to report (or not report) abuse to police to seek justice. This episode is based upon both their experiences of going through the UK justice system. Experiences will vary depending upon the laws of the justice system of a specific country. We caveat this episode that the decision to/or not to report is a very individual one and we do not advocate/advise for or against - there are arguments for both sides of the case (no pun intended) and this is what we discuss in this episode. This episode is to give a real insight into the lived experience but mainly to give you permission to do what feels right for you. Some listeners may find this episode triggering so please do take care and know it will be here if and when you want to come back.

S2.Ep.9. Nervous System Safety
In this episode, Stacie talks about this very important topic of nervous system safety, how to bring the nervous system back into it's baseline (parasympathetic) state and the importance of safety and trust when healing after sexual trauma. Feeling unsafe in our bodies and minds is what triggers the trauma/stress response and a big part of the healing journey is regaining a sense of safety and trust again. This episode contains some ideas/tools to help such as mindful breathing, subconscious processing (therapy), journaling and daily 'tune ins' to bring awareness to what you need to feel safe.
As always, take care of yourself when listening - look after yourself first and foremost and what you need today. The podcast will be here when you are ready.

S2.Ep.8. Having children as survivors of abuse with Dr Kathryn Gutteridge
In this guest episode, Stacie is honoured to have the lovely Dr Kathryn Gutteridge back on the podcast. Kathryn is a very experienced consultant midwife, psychotherapist and is a survivor of sexual abuse herself. As two midwives and survivors, they chat about having children from the perspective of being a survivor of sexual trauma and how healthcare providers could better support survivors in this very important life event. Stacie and Kathryn share both their personal and professional experience - this episode was recorded when Stacie herself was pregnant for the first time. Kathryn has spent her career in service to improving healthcare for survivors including collaboration on many written works such as this online resource: 'Pregnancy, Birth and Parenthood after Childhood Sexual Abuse'. We are so grateful for Kathryn's time and expertise and sharing it with us on the podcast.

S2.Ep.7. Phases of the Healing Cycle
In this episode, Stacie shares her experience of the healing cycle. She shares she is continually going through the process of healing and has broken it down into phases. These phases aren’t linear but it’s just to illustrate how the process is ongoing and de-layering the onion of trauma. It isn’t linear of step 1 leads to step 2 etc. Sometimes we stay at a step longer than the others and sometimes we come back to a particular step several times before we’re able to move forward. Healing isn’t a logical experience - it is a lived and embodied process and unique for each person. Stacie would love to hear if you resonate with this or if not, reflect upon your own and share these with her. Stacie has written a blog post for those who like to see this sort of info in a visual format here: http://www.stacie-glass.com/feed/phases-of-healing.

S2.Ep.6. Journalling as a therapeutic practice ~ with Sasha Glasgow
In this episode, Stacie is delighted to have a conversation about journalling and the therapeutic benefits as a practice with Sasha Glasgow @FrankandFeel (Instagram) www.frankandfeel.com. Sasha used to class herself as a writer, doubter and doer. More recently though, the only label she’s interested in holding onto is ‘woman figuring it out.’ She speaks from her heart and writes from her road as she lives it, becoming ever-less afraid of not knowing (or pretending that she does). Sasha is a freelance writer, journalling guide and podcaster under the brand, Frank+Feel. She sees her life as one made up of words, using them to inspire and be inspired. To express, process and connect, and makes space for others to do the same through the journalling spaces she holds.
Stacie has used journalling as a healing tool throughout her healing journey and was happy to have Sasha on the podcast to share the benefits and wonders of this practice. Thank you Sasha for your time and your beautiful way with words. Stacie highly recommends you seek out Sasha's Substack 'A life of words' and her journalling sessions.

S2.Ep.5. What my healing looks like now
In this solo episode, Stacie answers a listener question of what her healing looks like now, 12 years on from starting 'conscious' healing. Stacie talks about how her healing is ongoing - it isn't a once and done thing; it is a continual cycle. Healing is like peeling back the layers of an onion to reach that inner peace and no longer being triggered by trauma memories. Patience and self-kindness are key. As always, take care of yourself when listening - look after yourself first and foremost and what you need today. The podcast will be here when you are ready.

In this episode, Stacie speaks with survivor Myriam about her experience. Miriam is happy to share her work on Instagram @artways2021 - a political art project for survivors of sexual abuse. You can find her blog at www.globalhealingwritenow.com. Stacie is grateful for Myriam's raw honesty about being 'in the thick of it' of her healing journey and talks openly about depression and anger. This episode is the reality of living life with the effects of sexual abuse and not yet being the other side of the 'thick' part of the healing journey. S2.Ep.1. Relationships with abusers
In the first episode of season 2, Stacie responds to a listener question on the theme of relationships with abusers. Thank you to the Finnish listener who sent a voice note - it was so lovely to hear a human voice of a listener. You can send voice notes through some podcast platforms. Relationships with abusers adds another complexity to abuse because it often brings huge guilt and shame around perceived complicity. Most often, survivors do not recognise abuse because they feel they have consensually been part of the relationship but this in itself does not mean you agreed to sexual assault/abuse - regardless of age. Each person's experience is unique and valid - Stacie shares her own experience and scenarios from other survivors within this episode. There is an important distinction between consenting to being in a relationship and abuse of trust and power. As always, take care of yourself when listening - look after yourself first and foremost and what you need today. The podcast will be here when you are ready.
