#054 Steph L Dickson: on living with the darkeness & why we need to fight the good fight together
Hey it’s Steph Dickson and welcome to the Live Wide Awake podcast.
Today is a very special episode because I am reposting an episode from the How To Live podcast where I was interviewed. The reason I am doing that is because we went deep on anxiety and mental health. If you’ve been following me for a while you know this is a very important topic to me. I have been in and out of the darkness and have suffered from anxiety since I was 11 years old. And in this interview, I bare my soul, share what it's like and how I support myself through it.
These conversations needs to be normalised, the more people who talk about it, the more we can break down any taboos still lingering around, support others and of course ourselves.
There are two parts to this interview. The first 20 minutes we talk about climate change and sustainability. Then we go into mental health and the darkness.
I am very grateful to my friend, life coach and entrepreneur, Sharad Lal for sharing my story and using his platform for such meaningful topics. A little bit about his podcast - it explores ways to live a good life. If you are looking to manage stress, deepen relationships, navigate midlife, build resilience, or simply add more meaning to your life - check it out.
Okay, let’s dive in, it's time to live wide awake.

Hey it’s Steph Dickson and welcome to the Live Wide Awake podcast.
By now, you’ve probably heard of the words blockchain, NFTs, web3 buzzing around. And maybe you’ve started to get curious about what it all means. I certainly have.
And I’ve been seeing a lot of people who work in the environmental space starting to come out with projects. I’m intrigued about the potential applications and impact for society and the environment with this technology.
So today we’re speaking with Matt Rickard, Co-founder of Task.io, a Stellar-based blockchain platform that helps social enterprises to scale more effectively and TheBlueMarble.io, an eco-friendly NFT marketplace where creators can support social and environmental causes.
The common thread there is the Stellar-based blockchain which alleges to be faster, cheaper and more energy efficient than typical blockchain based systems. We will dive into this more during this chat.

Big questions that we are deep diving into with Chad Frischmann, the lead researcher and principal architect of the methodology and models behind Project Drawdown.
In this episode, we talk about why we shouldn’t distract ourselves with silver tech bullets and instead focus on a system of solutions, how to live a more awakened life, and bravery in the face of discrimination.
It’s time to live wide awake.

#030 David Yeung: on the business of selling change, making green common & mindfulness as a super power for happiness
How do we make green common? Why is compassion a subtle superpower to a more present and zen life? And why should we stay foolish?
Big questions we’re deep-diving into with David Yeung, founder of Green Monday, Green Common and the innovative OmniFoods - an ecosystem of companies on a mission to tackle climate change and food insecurity by making green common.
In this episode, we talk about how our actions today are driving our future suffering and consequences, when there is crises there is also opportunity, and why for real change we need some degree of madness.
It’s time to live wide awake.
