I'm back on Studio Dialogues with this very dear (to me) interview, with the one and only Milind Mulick.  Son of a well-known illustrator and painter, Pratap Mulick, Milindji has been drawing since the age of 5 and started doing watercolour landscapes at the age of 13. He has participated in many group shows throughout India, and have had 20 one-man shows in Mumbai and Pune. His paintings are in the collection around the world. He has 13 books published on the subject of art and watercolour and is a well know teacher through his workshops and classes. In this conversation Milindji talks about his childhood artistic influences as well as the artists who have inspired him along his career. Anna shares her journey and how she scientifically tackled the organization of art and watercolor convention to build it up to such an amazing gathering of artists from across the world who get together to share, learn, discuss and organize. Anna also talks about how art is therapeutic, how it connects us to people, the land, nature and each other. Her advice to artists who want to grow is to keep doing much research, be true to themselves, to learn marketing or whatever skills needed to build their audience and grow in the direction they want. In my second episode of STUDIO DIALOGUES, I had a really inspiring conversation with the wonderful Sanjay Desai. He shares his experiences during his childhood & growing up years of being in and out of studios of some eminent artists. His early exposure led him to observe the value of working with passion and dedication at one's craft. Sanjayji's description of why a habit of sketching is important and how it leads one to develop as a better painter is nothing short of fantastic and I for one have pledged to follow his suggestions!!
