We go through a full demo of CastMagic from uploading your podcast's audio to the output it creates for your social media posts, show notes, questions, ideas for your episode title and more.

S3 E10 Successful Podcasters: Reena Friedman Watts of the Better Call Daddy Podcast
We have a very special guest joining us - Reena Friedman Watts, host of the Better Call Daddy Podcast. Reena has experienced incredible growth in her podcast and has some valuable insights to share with us. We recently appeared on each other's podcasts, and it's amazing how small the podcasting world can be, connecting us through business relationships and mutual acquaintances.
In today's episode, we'll dive deep into Reena's journey as a podcaster and her path to success. We'll discuss her background in accounting and how she found her true passion in marketing. Reena will share her thoughts on old school marketing versus social media marketing, and the importance of understanding your target audience.
We'll also explore the power of community building and engagement, something Reena excels at. We'll learn about her strategies for interacting with her listeners and fostering loyalty and growth. Additionally, Reena will offer some advice on avoiding burnout and staying creative as a podcaster.
As always, we have some exciting segments lined up. We'll discuss Reena's recent episode on depression, panic attacks, and anxiety, featuring two compelling interviews. And of course, we'll touch on our latest endeavors, including the creation of an AI component for our podcast network and our upcoming interview on Cast Magic with Greg Wasseman.
So grab your headphones, sit back, and get ready to learn from one of podcasting's rising stars. Let's dive into this episode of "Become a Successful Podcaster" with our special guest, Reena Friedman Watts of the Better Call Daddy Podcast!
Who Is Reena Friedman Watts?
Reena Friedman Watts began her career in radio while in college, working at an NPR station. Over the next two decades, Reena worked in various areas of media, including reality TV and behind-the-scenes production. Three years ago, she started a podcast with her supportive father, who encouraged her to pursue her dreams. This venture eventually led her back to radio, where she now hosts a weekly show on Cool FM, featuring the best episodes of her podcast, the Better Call Daddy Show. Reena emphasizes the importance of creating a portfolio or air check tape, showcasing one's work and abilities, especially in today's marketing and business landscape. S3 E8 How does AI Define Podcasting and What Equipment Does AI Think You Need To Podcast?
Artificial Intelligence is everywhere. And it is taking over everything from social media, to search engine optimization, to Google searches, to medical billing to all types of crazy environments. I was curious about what a I actually thinks of podcasting. I also mention Temu in this episode which I started using. You can download a lot of great podcasting equipment from Temu, so shop like a billionaire.
I asked him questions like what exactly is podcasting?
Now, you pretty much know what podcasting is because you're a podcaster. But I'm very curious about what it looks like to artificial intelligence. I went on to the very famous, most popular AI tool called ChatGPT. And with that, I asked him a bunch of questions like What is podcasting? And what type of equipment do you need to podcast? I think that's really cool. What artificial intelligence actually thinks podcasting is because people are going to websites like ChatGPT are actually asking it all types of crazy questions.
AI will help you create everything for your podcast, including show notes, blog posts, and even social media posts.
And what's amazing is that if you ask him for something original, it will definitely give you something that has not been published in another blog post, or social media posts like Facebook, or something on a Instagram post, or even a tweet on Twitter, which is now called X from Elon Musk.
So if you want to know exactly what podcasting is, from an AI point of view, listen to this episode.
I'm going to go to chat to GTP and I'm going to ask him what podcasting is. I'm also going to ask it, what equipment I need to podcast. If you think you have all the equipment. You may not have to hearing this. I'm going to go ahead and read to you what it says.
I'm going to read to you the exact text that's given to me by AI. And you can compare it to your own definition.
And this is going to be a really fun episode. I'm also going to ask artificial intelligence about other things that you can do for your podcast in the future in future episodes. And that includes and that includes, how to market your podcast and how to use a podcast network like the world Podcast Network. Here we go. We also play some really cool music, including rock, pop and hip hop. I have a new song coming out on September 16 on Spotify. It's called push me again. And I also preview that as well.

S2E12 - The Fastest Way To LAUNCH Your Podcast
I market almost 800 podcasts now. And I've helped podcasters get started from scratch from nothing and help their shows succeed. And I can do that with your show. In this video, I'm going to help you get the tips and tricks you need to get your podcast out there fast. Maybe you're thinking of starting a podcast, maybe you're in the middle of setting up your podcast and you're at a crossroads or blocked somehow. I'm going to help you get through it, but you want to get your podcast out there and you want to get it out there for free. Okay, I'm going to give you the best way to start your podcast the fastest way for free again, some of the video. First of all, let's talk about recording the audio for your podcast. Do you need to buy a microphone like this one. This one costs about $120. This is a Samsung microphone, you don't need it. What you do, it does sound better with a microphone like this. You can simply Podcast with your smartphone. Your smartphone has a great high res microphone. It comes with recording software. And that's it. Right now. I am using a Samsung Galaxy S 10.
It has a recording for audio not this particular one that you're watching on the camera, but it has an audio recording software and just start podcasting right into your phone. It's the sound quality is great. Okay, there's nothing about like you know, you can get that little nasally sound. If you have a good phone. And most of the phones have good microphones now, you can actually get your podcast onto the audio of your phone using that Recorder app. Okay, almost all of them coming in. Samsung comes with it. Right? The Microsoft smartphone comes with it. Okay, iPhone come to you. They all do. You already have the microphone, you don't need to spend $125 like this one. But it is better. If you do have a microphone like this, I will tell you, when you get the base, you get a lot of cool little audio tricks that you won't get with the phone. But if you don't have the money, you don't need to spend it. Okay, let's talk about hosting your podcast. When you get the audio done.
Hopefully you'll have an mp3 that you'll be able to share on your platform. You want to get the audio up there so that people can download your podcast and listen to it. So the next thing I'm going to talk about is hosting your podcast. And there is a free tool out there that not only doesn't cost you any money, but you make money and that is anchored on FM. Okay. anchor.fm is owned by Spotify, you can't get any better than Spotify, Spotify, you can't get your podcast onto directly you need to go through anchor anchor.fm, which I actually use for my audio podcast is amazing. Because you get the video podcasting with anchor, you get monetization tools, you get ads that go right through the anchor network.
As a matter of fact, when you get started with anchor, you can immediately have an ad, okay, they give you an ad that you actually recite over your audio, and they pay you for that every time somebody listens to that.

It's a free podcasts editing tool, your upload your mp3. And it's easy. If you want to, first of all get into podcasting, and you haven't started your podcast yet, you want to do it quickly, you want to do it for free, I have another video, you can actually look at the link below where you can actually just see it here. In this particular video. Now, I want to help you succeed with your editing of your podcasts because we both know, we all know that editing podcast is boring, it's tedious. You want to farm it out. We have a bunch of editing services right? On the marketplace on New York City Podcast Network slash podcast dash marketplace. So definitely look there. Also, if you haven't podcast, and you want to sign up for free, that's exactly what you're going to do. Sign up for free on a New York City podcast network, you can upgrade for a lot of cool services, but it's always free. All right now, editing podcast, you can do on Audacity, again, search Google for Audacity. And what's interesting is if you can actually see in your video, you can see an audio, you can see the little waveform, right, where you're talking, there are very big waveforms, it's basically those triangles. But if there's a space, where you're saying, um, or ah, or any of those filler words, right, that you we hate listening to other people go on those, you can edit those out. Because when you're talking, the waveforms are very big. When you're saying, um, they're very low, right? So you got that you can take your mouth, slice out the filler words, slice out the ums, slice out the ahs. My big problem is I say, you know, and I never even hear myself saying it until after I listened to the recording. I say, you know, blah, blah, blah, you know, about you know, you know, you know, is really annoying when I play it back. And I can't imagine people listening to that and saying, Hey, this guy's annoying because he says, you know, all the time I edit those out. Okay, you can leave some arms in there, you can leave some eyes in there. Because it's natural to say those things when you're talking, when I have heard podcasts where every five words sometimes there's an accent and and it's just annoying. I also don't like when somebody says and all the time. For example, we started a podcast and and while they're thinking about what to say they stretch out that answer and stretch out, edit that out. You can see that the waveform is very small. Right I have a video that you can see on how to edit your website with I'm sorry, your podcast with Audacity, check that video out. Now. Other ways of editing your podcast is you can do it strictly with the audio. Right? You do it with Audacity, right but you also can edit out the wording. There are really cool services out there that will just edit out anything you can do you don't know yourself. In other words, you don't want to listen to that podcast. You've already recorded it. You have already listened to it, you're tired of hearing your own voice. I know, I'm tired to hear my voice. So I hire other people to edit my podcast because I just can't listen. But if you don't have the money to do that, and you just want to edit yourself, you can do it. Okay. Any podcast is very important...

S2E10 -How To Get High Google Rankings For Your Podcast
Remember that if you're on LinkedIn, LinkedIn has very good search engine rankings. So you want to get put all your podcast liner notes on LinkedIn. And likewise, all the social media that you can, if you can put your liner notes right on Facebook, you can do it as well. And Google will pick one of those up eventually, if not your blog, or your anchor, or Buzzsprout page. That's important. And again, we're talking about keywords now, not meta tag keywords, because Google doesn't really use those anymore, but just put as many keywords into your audio when you're recording your podcast, and also into the liner notes for your blog post or LinkedIn post, or whatever.

Welcome to another episode of become a successful podcast and with Bruce Chamoff, rate us on Apple, hey, we're talking about search engine optimization for your podcast, and how to get Google rankings. You want to get more subscribers and more people subscribing to your podcast and rating you on Apple, and just interacting with your podcast in general, most of us have websites, and most of us have search engine optimization strategies to get better Google rankings for our websites. We're always worried about keywords and meta tags, and what people have to type into Google or Yahoo or any search engine. In order for you, your website to come up higher on the search engine rankings. Most web masters and website owners know about SEO, search engine optimization. Are we concerned about that for our podcasts, maybe you want to just get more people coming to your site and your website, you just want traffic?
Well, maybe you want traffic to your podcast as well. And whether your podcast is on Buzzsprout or anchor or Lipson or any of those popular podcasting platforms, you want to come up in Google, my podcast comes up in Google, if you search successful podcaster, at least for me, it might not for other people, depending on where they are in the world. But you want to come up as high as you can. And you need to know what those keywords are. If you have a YouTube channel, there's also such thing as Search Engine Optimization, or SEO for YouTube channels and videos. And you have a place in the YouTube interface for tags. Tags are basically just keyword.
Well, you can do the same thing with your podcast. First of all, you need content. And I don't just mean audio content, I'm talking about words that Google can find and actually index for you. You can get that directly from the your show notes. Each podcast hosting platform has their own limit as to the number of characters you can have in your show notes. I suggest you use them all. And you can even use somebody to transcribe your audio and put it directly into a blog format. Because if you have a blog with your podcast, which podcasts used to do in the beginning, you will also find that Google can also rank those particular blog posts. But you can you don't need it. Because you have a blog built in with Buzzsprout, or anchor or any of those podcasting platforms. The strategy is how do you actually use those to your benefit to get Google rankings?

You can subscribe to this podcast to learn how to grow your podcast, market it, monetize it, and more. Rate us on Apple. And also you can get us on the New York City Podcast Network in NYC podcast network.com. In this episode, we are talking about Elon Musk or Elon Musk, depending on how you pronounce his name, like Potato Potato. I say Elon Musk, and this deal that he has to buy Twitter, which fell through and is now in a lawsuit. But we won't get into that Twitter has almost 450 million subscribers, monthly users monthly users, I understand that probably none of our podcasts will have 450 million subscribers every single month. But I have been listening to some of your podcasts I listened to about 10 podcast episodes every single day. Because hey, I run a very busy podcast network of over 750 podcasts, it only makes sense for someone like me in that position to listen to an average of 10 podcast episodes every single day. And the question is what Elon Musk by your podcast, just like he's bought Twitter, or he almost bought Twitter just because of the deal.
He's got into buying Twitter, right?
You know, I'm following this whole thing. He was using Twitter against Twitter. He was on Twitter. And he was talking to his 1 billion users on Twitter saying that he was not going to buy Twitter. It's kind of weird. I mean, he could probably use meta, or even Tik Tok for that, but or even LinkedIn. But he uses Twitter against Twitter to say that the deal fell through that first the Twitter breached the contract. And then Elon Musk wanted information on bot accounts and fake user accounts. And that was part of the deal that Twitter had to provide in order for the deal to go through. And then they did. They gave him the information of about 9000 monthly users and a sample of those accounts and whether or not they're real, or the bots, and apparently he didn't like the information and he breached the deal. Well, that's what we're going to talk about that. But we're going to talk about your podcast. Can somebody not just Elon Musk, but somebody as wealthy as him? Or just an investor? Do you want an investor into your podcast? I think it's possible.
I listened to a lot of your podcasts, like I said, and I also look at the ratings on Apple. And I know that some of you have hundreds, even 1000s of ratings on Apple, that alone shows the worth and how valuable your podcast is to a potential investor. That's why it's always important to get ratings on Apple, Spotify as well. But Apple has the number of ratings very clearly on the top of your podcasts homepage. And I know that investors can look at that. So if you have those ratings on Apple, at least a couple of 100. You can go get an investor, you can find somebody like Elon Musk, maybe not as rich as him, but somebody to invest a couple of 1000 or $100,000, or maybe $1 million into your podcast. I mean, look at the Joe Rogan deal that happened two years ago with Spotify. $1 million.
It's not just Joe Rogan, it could be your podcast. Why not? Spotify technically invested into his podcast. And Spotify is not owned by Elon Musk...Listen to the rest of the podcast...

S2E8 - The Most Sought Out Podcast Categories Summer 2022
Hello, you got Bruce become a successful podcaster. And on this episode, I want to reveal what I have found as the most popular podcast categories of today. Right now. It is summer, July 2022.
And being the owner of a podcast network that has hundreds of podcasts and over 32,000 episodes, I know what the most popular categories are. It's not just the categories that people are looking for. It's also the ones where people are actually producing as podcasters themselves. Now I see the podcast episodes update every single day on our podcast network, the New York City Podcast Network, soon to be the world Podcast Network, which right now you can go to either one NYC, podcast network.com, I see a lot of the same types of podcasts coming out on top of the most recent episode section.
Okay, now let me just I'm gonna reveal these to you in a little while. But just remember, if your podcast is not in this particular range of categories, don't worry, because I see that every single month, it seems like different categories changed, like popular categories actually change. And if your podcast is a part of one of these categories, then kudos to you, you have cracked a mystery that a lot of podcasters are trying to figure out right now. And of course, there are categories that will always be on the top of the list no matter what month it is, just because these are very popular. subjects that talk about people really want to talk about specific subjects, and they really will do their best to make whatever it takes to find new subscribers, very important. Now, this particular podcast of my own becomes successful podcast, I really have no idea what category I fall into. But I know that a lot of podcasters I speak with our business people, and they want to learn how to succeed they want to they want to actually be successful with their shows and their businesses as leaders and entrepreneurs and business owners. So I can tell you right now, I always get a very big visit from people who are looking for business podcasts, because I see the analytics that come over on the podcast network.
Yes, we do keep analytics. Keep in mind that I know that whether your podcast falls in these popular categories or not, you don't have to worry about it. Because just keep on doing what you're doing. Because there's always there's always somebody who wants your category. I'm not saying that your categories are not good. I'm just saying that. It's just not one of the most popular. But regardless, we've seen all types of weird categories coming out. When I say weird, don't think about weird, I'm just saying it might not be your exact particular category that you're looking for. So what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna take a quick break right now, play a couple of messages, and we come back we're going to actually we're going to reveal these for you. All right, well, I feel these
What are the most popular podcasting categories.

S2E7 - How To Improve Your Podcast By Listening To Others
Welcome to become a successful podcaster with Bruce Cham off. I'm here to help you become more successful podcasting, like us on Apple podcasts and rate us leave a review. I always review back as well. Give me a podcast, you can reach out to me on the New York City podcast networks, contact form at NYC podcast network.com. Also, if your podcast is not on the New York City Podcast Network, and we're becoming the world Podcast Network in fall of 2022, you can sign up for free now. In this episode, I am going to answer a question that I get a lot. And that question is can you learn the podcast by listening to other podcasts and preferably in your space? In other words, if you're a business person and you want to do a business podcast? Should you listen to other business podcasts? Or can you listen to any podcast? It doesn't matter what the category is? But the main question is, can you learn the podcast just by listening to others? I'll be honest with you, I became a better podcaster by honing my podcast my skills, and also reading the book in 2005. Introduction to podcasting from blueberry networks, Todd Cochran, but I think I became a better podcaster when I just listened to other people's podcasts. I think the book gave me a good starting point. But it didn't really make me the podcaster that I am right now.
Today, it actually was kind of like a springboard for the equipment and the software and all that. But nowadays, you don't need all that you can simply podcast on your phone. You don't need all that expensive equipment. Now, I know that when I'm listening to other people's podcasts, I get a lot of questions. And those questions could be do I want to guest? Do I like the energy? Do I want to co host like season one I had Megan and Megan will be on some of my episodes. Now in this season as well. You need to just listen to podcasts, listen to as many as you can. Because listen, I'm also a musician. My music is on Spotify, you can look for my music search for Bruce Cham off on Spotify, and my music is lately it's been pop up. But I used to do rock. And I'm trying to break into pop music from rock. And this is just an example I'm not really going off on a tangent. When I listen to other musicians, I don't really listen to them on Spotify.
I listen to them on SoundCloud because SoundCloud seems to have more of the artists that I'm looking to be like, but then I take the same music, and I produce the music, I write a song that's very similar, change a few things like core progressions, and instrumentation. And then I put it out on Spotify. But when I hear these songs that really grabbed me, I know that I want a song just like it and it could be anything and that song that makes me want to come out with a similar song, a single, like the energy. Sometimes there's just the energy I love that's going on with a particular song. It's either mellow energy, or it's a lot of energy and think about this for your podcast, I want to actually have a song that has that same energy, or maybe just the same type of guitar solo, it won't be the same notes, but it will be kind of that vibe coming from the guitar solo, or the backing vocalist or whatever, or even the lyrics but more for me, it's I'm more of a music writer than I am as a lyric writer, although I do both.
Now for your podcast. You want to do almost the same thing, so what you want to do is listen to other podcasts. It doesn't necessarily have to be in your space or your category. You can come out with a podcast that is the same type of energy. What is energy? What is that vibe? Is it coming from a guest or is it coming from a particular host? Do you want to be the host that you're listening to? Right? That's actually a good one become The host that you like the most on another podcast, maybe you need a co host, like I have Megan, or maybe every episode, like a lot of podcasts has a guest.

And the I do it not just through the podcast, I do it other ways as well, on my podcast network, which is an NYC podcast network.com. Okay, if your podcast isn't there yet, you can definitely sign up now. The one big way to make money is, drumroll please. No drumroll. The best way to make money is to have one podcast episode add of let's say three. So like 25% of your episodes to be a premium content episode. Right? For and that's it. For people who really really dig your podcast, you want to reward them with something, right? It's leaving comments on your YouTube channel, you really want to leave another comment and give them like a coupon code.
That coupon code is coupon codes, let me tell you a very big marketing strategies. And so our expiration dates, but give people a an episode, if they actually pay for the premium content. And but you can't just say, Oh, I got this episode. It's a premium one, you can pay me $10. And you can get access to it right now. Because you have to give people the free stuff to write. So what you do is give three episodes away for free. And the next one is paid. And how you take that money is completely up to you. If you pay pal, it could be a credit card, it could be both it could be whatever. What's the other one? Venmo. The one that begins with with a V, it'd be the Cash App is a lot. But PayPal works the best because a lot of people have PayPal. Now. You can't as I said, just say I want to give you a premium content or premium episode. And you pay me this money and I'll let you in people will take you seriously. Right has to be a little bit when people spend money. It has to be a little bit more methodical.
You got that one episode, you have identified that one episode? What kind of episode is it that you want to give away for free? Right. The first thing you're going to do is you're going to Google that particular episode and see if anybody else is talking about it. Because you want to give away unique content, something that only your podcast can give away. Okay, go to Google Google Trends, and just the regular Google search bar and search for it to see if your idea has already been taken by another podcaster and if it has, move on to the Next episode, what you're trying to do is sell something. That's the only content they can get through you.
