In this episode of TeeBox Chatter: The Golf Podcast I welcome the GM of The Club at Carlton Woods. Mr. Steve Salzman.
This episode was recorded shortly after the announcement was made that the LPGA Tour's first Major Championship of the year was being moved from Rancho Mirage, California (Mission Hills) to Houston, Texas (The Club at Carlton Woods). Mr. Salzman and I discuss the move, what it means for the LPGA, the impact of the move for residents and the employees of Chevron, and of course The Club at Carlton Woods.

"Live-streaming Golf With GolfZoogle"
What is a GolfZoogle? Who is GolfZoogle?
Welcome to this episode of "TeeBox Chatter: The Golf Podcast" as I welcome Denis Condie and Justin Gauthier to "The TeeBox". I learned about this golf technology service while covering a professional golf tournament (Great Lakes Tour) for the podcast. Little did I realize that a week later I would be providing golf commentary for them.
In fact, GolfZoogle has provided live streams for scores of golf tournaments, including Fenergic Coupe Canada. One of Canada's most prestigious professional events which takes place in Victoriaville. All of the important questions are asked and answered. Who, What, Where, When, Why, and How. This was a fun episode to record.

Episode #34 - "Be a Loudmouth"
Next on the tee on the TeeBox Chatter Golf Podcast, I welcome the Owner of Loudmouth, Andrew Seibert.
A misconception is cleared up. Loudmouth is not just for golfers. If you're wondering where Loudmouth went listen in as Andrew takes us through the process of renewing a brand. In January, Loudmouth attended the 2023 PGA Show and what they took away from it. We learn about the President and CEO's background in golf and you may not know it but, you might be a "Loudmouth".
Thanks for joining us.

Episode 33 - "The Road to the PGA TOUR"
In this episode of the TeeBox Chatter Golf Podcast, I welcome PGA TOUR Canada players Jeffrey Kang, Eric Lilleboe, Thomas Walsh, and Jake Knapp. Recorded during the 2022 Fortinet Cup Championship in Kitchener, ON at Deer Ridge Golf Club on moving day. About the players.
Jeffrey Kang - Now 31, Jeffrey turned professional in 2014. Jeffrey played collegiate golf at the University of Southern California. Jeffrey Monday Qualified for the 2022 WM Phoenix Open.
Eric Lilleboe - Eric is a native of Okemos, MI. The 35 year old Lilleboe played collegiate golf at Ferris State University. Eric tuned professional in 2011.
Thomas Walsh - Thomas started the season on Korn Ferry Tour in 2022 and ended up on PGA Tour Canada after his results slid prior to the re-shuffle. The High Point, NC native attended school at the University of Virginia where he played collegiate golf. In 2023, Thomas finds himself back on the Korn Ferry Tour where he's made 3 of 4 cuts.
Jake Knapp - The 28 year old former UCLA Bruin is off to a nice start in 2023 where he has status on Korn Ferry Tour. A native of Newport Beach, California Jake hasn't missed a cut thus far on tour where he currently sits in 21st on the points list.
The conversations are light and we gain a little bit of insight of what these players do away from the game.

Episode 32 - "Twenty Seconds" (A Chat with 2022 Epson Tour winner Daniela Iacobelli)
In this episode of the TeeBox Chatter Golf Podcast I'm joined on "The TeeBox" by 2022 Epson Tour winner Daniela Iacobelli.

Episode 30 - Pebble Beach and "Introducing Cutter: America's Unfiltered Caddie".
In the first episode of 2023 I'm pleased to be joined by Stephen Burke. Stephen is a caddie that has graced the fairways of Pebble Beach Golf Links for 25 years.
Mr. Burke has the week off this week as the PGA TOUR descends on the Monterey Peninsula and Pebble Beach Golf Links for the AT&T Pro-Am. Burke and I talk about photography and the gem along California's Pacific Coast. With 25 years of caddying under his white coveralls, comes a wealth of stories. Armed with a quick wit and plenty of current events in the news he uses them to come up with one-line zingers. So, "Introducing Cutter: America's Unfiltered Caddie" was created.
Join me as we talk about Pebble Beach Golf Links and the book that he authored.
Everybody has cross-hairs on their back. Millennials, Republicans, Democrats, Celebrities, White, Black, Gay, or Straight. It makes no different to "Cutter". Believe me when I say that you'll laugh and... you'll cringe. (Note: It is not intended for those under 18).
"Introducing Cutter: America's Unfiltered Caddie" is available at www.cutterthecaddie.com.

In this episode of TeeBox Chatter recorded at Niagara National Golf and Country in Stevensville, ON Douger and I talk about a recent expedition to St. Thomas, ON. In this town lies a golfer's "Mecca of Sorts" called Fore Golfer's Only. A place where you can find almost anything that your heart desires. Old clubs, new clubs, and everything in between. It has been a fall of reassessing our equipment (shafts in particular) and games.
Would it be a bountiful trip finding gold and treasure or would we find only "Fool's Gold". Join us and find out.
Yeah there's some TOUR talk too.

Episode 28 - "Danishes, Foliage, and the Rise of Tom Kim"
In this episode join Douger and I at Niagara National Golf and Country in Stevensville, On.
On this episode we discuss "danish things", trees and their foliage, the ascension of Tom Kim and retro golf equipment. DJ, a "Rhodes Scholar"? And Douger would leave me for Michael Breed's podcast for twice the money that I give him. Everyone has a price.

The utter politeness of Kieran Vincent and the coolness of Eric Lilleboe. Friends of "TeeBox Chatter" Chris R. Wilson and Jake Scott. Smooth swinging Ty Strafaci. How the course set-up at Deer Ridge Golf Club factored in during the championship... the committee did an amazing job.
The LPGA. Are they women, girls or ladies?

Episode 25 - "Rory Wins... Scottie Fades and a Breakfast Ball"
It's coffee time!!!
In this episode of TeeBox Chatter join Douger and I at Niagara National Golf and Country Club for a chat as we discuss the finale of the FedEx Cup Playoffs. Rory wins but Scottie, faded??? Did the right guy win?
Player of the Year? Who is it? Rookie of the Year? Cameron Young? The Korn Ferry Tour Championship. Cocktails and the banter are a huge reason why we like this game. Our favourite cocktails and favourite foursome. Mmmmm... Caesar's. LIV Golf. Where do the players go now that the their roster has gotten stronger? We'd love to see their contracts. Talking the wraparound. The CP Women's Open and the "Brooke Brigade". How Ottawa Hunt and Golf Club got their course ready after a horrendous winter storm. Their superintendent Eric Ruhs won an award for his efforts. Volunteers. GolfZoogle and providing play-by-play coverage for Coupe Canada on their live stream feed on YouTube. And then there are "Canadian Cobra Chickens".

Episode 23 - "Give it away... Now?"
In this episode recorded on location at Niagara Golf and Country Club, Douger and I discuss the aftermath of the 150th Open Championship. Congratulations to Australia's Cameron Smith. An excellent Champion Golfer of the Year and a Major victory that you could feel that was coming. Did Rory McIlroy play to lose? Hey, what was with the disrespect shown to Smith by golf media? Speaking of which, what about the garbage that a European news agency tried to start involving Mark and Brenda Calcavecchia?
Also, the LPGA. The women of the LPGA played their team event the DOW Great Lakes Classic. Kupcho and Salas win. It's another major week as the LPGA, LET et al play the Amundi Evian Championship in France.
The Southern Ontario Open. We provided commentary for GolfZoogle during a live-stream on YouTube. The Great Lakes Tour's flagship event played in Port Dover, Ontario (Port Dover Golf Club) was entertaining and you couldn't have asked for a better finish. A 3-man playoff and an eagle to beat birdies on the first playoff hole (won by Michael Blair). Many of those played have some sort of status on PGA TOUR Canada.

From Florida to the Land's of Kings and Princes (Golf Course Architect Ron Garl)
In this episode of the "TeeBox Chatter Golf Podcast" I am joined by two special guests. The first guest is a renowned golf course architect who has built and remodeled golf courses all over the world. From "The Great White North" (Canada) to the Middle East. Chances are that if you've played golf in Florida, you've played a Ron Garl design.
My second guest is a guest that has been on "the TeeBox" with me. Claudio DeMarchi, "The Traveling Golfer" who has experienced many of Mr. Garl's designs all over the world.

"Rory's Bogey Hoagie"

"The Clarity of Golf Simulators"
In this episode of the TeeBox Chatter Golf Podcast I welcome Bill Bales to the first teebox. We talk about everything when it comes to golf simulators and the history of video games dedicated to golf. There were others well before "Tiger Woods PGA Tour". From a time when the games were about strategy and not-so much about graphics. We discuss his role in developing or in assisting with the development of one of the golf simulator industry's leaders AboutGolf.
We also talk about his latest project (Clarity Golf) and where it's heading. Many thanks to Mary Beth Lacy from golf public relations firm Mary Beth Lacy Inc for arranging this interview with her client.

Episode 13 - "It's Coffee Time"
Nothing beats great service. Great service like that of the staff at Niagara National Golf and Country Club. Join my Co-Host Doug and I over a coffee or two.
Recorded on location at Niagara National Golf and Country Club in Stevensville, Ontario. In this episode we discuss Doug's week in golf and his start and where to improve. The NCAA Regional's in Women's Golf and teams like the Mississippi State Bulldogs. A team that's led by the husband (Charlie Ewing) of LPGA Tour player Ally Ewing.
With the NCAA Regional's is there a way to cover those events to give college golf more exposure. Are the logistics of doing such too much to handle? Could they follow in the footsteps of the Epson Tour with live streaming on the likes of Twitter or YouTube. NCAA sports... Do you like it more than professional sports.
A prize purse increase on the LPGA Tour at their Amundi Evian Championship. Minjee Lee wins the Cognizant Founder's Cup at New Jersey's Upper Montclair Country Club.
Whipping out things onto the table. Like the, to be reviewed, Tanto Golf Divot Repair Tool. We talk other equipment like Breakthrough Golf Technology's Stability Tour Fire putter shaft. A shout-out to Power Golf (clubfitter) and Niagara Golf and Batting Cages. My disappointment with Golf Town. More equipment talk later on in the episode as I talk about Cobra Golf's product range after attending a Fitting Day put on by Niagara Golf Warehouse.
What's a Sooner? Tulsa has Hurricanes. Either way, the PGA TOUR is in Oklahoma and this week is the PGA Championship. We list our picks. There might be flag waving involved. Doug goes all "Brandel Chamblee" about Jon Rahm. Major performers in Major Championships. And yes, Tiger Woods is a part of the conversation.

Max Homa's fourth victory at the Wells Fargo Championship from TPC Potomac in Virginia, the any given Sunday vibe that the LPGA Tour exudes. The potential bloodbath that a women's golf version of The President's Cup would create.
We switch gears and discuss golfer's who feel like that they could breakthough in a way like Rich Strike did at the recent Kentucky Derby. Bryson DeChambeau's stock and where his swing could lead him. We talk about the inventor of the Core Builder Pro (Jim Porterfield). The LIV/PGA TOUR drama and guys who have had underachieving careers. Doug has an issue with Steve Stricker's hat.
Dougie wants my Edison Golf Forged Wedges. The Tour Edge Golf Exotics 722 metalwoods and how impressive they've been during testing. Even past podcast guest Robert Winkskowicz (Sqairz Golf) gets a mention too. Shaft selection after Doug's fitting with Callaway Golf.
Next week, I will try a Triple Bogey Half and Half on the air.

Episode 10 - The Traveling Golfer (Claudio DeMarchi) "From Prague to Richmond, Virginia"
In this episode of TeeBox Chatter I welcome "The Traveling Golfer" Claudio DeMarchi. We discuss everything from fly fishing to who and what exactly "The Traveling Golfer" is. How golf travel came to a crashing halt thanks to a worldwide pandemic and its slow recovery. Then we touch on his travels last fall to the Czech Republic and more recently to Virgina to experience some of what that state has to offer. Including some very affordable rates that you may not expect.

Episode 9: The Pivot
In this episode of TeeBox Chatter titled "The Pivot" my Co-Host Doug Lauder and I discuss everything from Slot-Car racing and how it translates into golf equipment.
Also we talk about the 16-year-old Augusta National Women's Amateur Champion and "Bucket Hat" wearin' Anna Davis who made her first LPGA Tour start at the 2022 Palos Verdes Championship.
College. Well, that's a stone not left unturned as we start to discuss NCAA like Billy Horschel and the "Gator Chomp". Kent State Golf and the Canadian connection.
We talk about the Epson Tour and their recent winner Gabriella Thenn and Haley Moore.
We even chat about the lack of parity between the Epson Tour and the Korn Ferry Tour. ($30,000 vs $100,000). How does it change?

Potting clay, wine country, stock-car racing, the RBC Heritage, and is Cantlay a cyborg?
In this episode my Co-Host Doug Lauder and I discuss many topics.
We discuss the uniqueness of the diverse soil conditions on which Niagara, Ontario golf courses are built on. Wine country. We look at Jordan Spieth's victory at the RBC Heritage Classic. And what's the deal? Is Patrick Cantlay a cyborg? What's up with that?
Would a co-sanctioned LPGA/PGA Tour event work?

If you think that ANGC is "unfair", stay home.
Also, we discuss the Core Builder Pro a product that was received for testing. The core is an integral part of our anatomy and not just for golf.

"Arnie and Jack"
In this episode of TeeBox Chatter I welcome Charlie Mechem to the tee. Charlie Mechem was the LPGA Commissioner from 1990 to 1995 and we discuss his friendship with two of golf's legends, Mr. Arnold Palmer and Mr. Jack Nicklaus.
This episode is full of entertaining stories and anecdotes in advance of his new book "Arnie and Jack". With so many to choose from we find out how he decided which stories "made the cut", flying with Arnie, the reason for writing the book, the legendary rivalry, golf and sports of different eras, and the time that baked beans were removed from Arnie's restaurant.

Energy Fizz, Augusta National and the V1 Pressure Mat

This episode was full of laughs and a real pleasure to record. Moreover, I guarantee you that this episode is as educational for a single digit handicap golfer or a newcomer to golf. Jake Thurm is the swing coach for Kevin Streelman (PGA TOUR) and Tim Petrovic (PGA TOUR Champions). Jake is also a leading expert in using ground force to help golfers improve and an ambassador for the V1 Pressure Mat. For a few months now, I've been working on a golf-related song. Figuring out the right chords, rhythm, and matching them up with lyrics has been tricky. Even trickier when you can't sing. The song and music, I have completely written. This is an excerpt that I recorded this afternoon while watching the Gainbridge LPGA.
The completed song will be posted. I am hoping to add drums or percussion and dare I say it bass. #lpga #golf #golfsong #teeboxchatter
