Let's talk temperament research from back in the day!

Hippocrates and the theory of the four humors is not a new concept and neither are the four old-school terms for temperaments I'm discussing in this podcast.  I'll bet you have heard them before: 

• Melancholic 
• Choleric 
• Sanguine
• Phlegmatic

Let's talk about each one and how they show up in life and at work. 

Oh yeah, forgive me for giggling at the names.  My inner 3rd grader kept emerging. :)

What are soft skills and what do they mean to you and the world of work?

Hard skills are a no-brainer for most people.  By hard skills, I mean skills such as typing, computer repair, etc.

But, there is a whole other category of skill sets you will need to be successful.  They're often called soft skills. Not because they're any less important, but because they are a bit more nimble and inconcrete. Still, they are critical to workplace - and life - success.

For example, you could hire someone with all of the necessary hard skills to do a job, but if they are lacking and missing crucial soft skills, they will fail.  No doubt about it. 

Let's talk about it.

Do you want your employees to like you? Do you even care? I think you should and I'll tell ya why in this Business Acumen podcast episode.  Take a listen and hear why your employees need to like you as well as respect you. 

When your employees don't respect you, they rebel against you.  When they don't like you they slack and, eventually, they will leave. 

Let's talk about the balance and the techniques.
