Mona's motivation began out of a personal experience when her sister battled breast cancer. Realizing all the harmful ingredients in everyday products, Mona used her background as an engineer to provide a solution. It didn’t stop with family or friends. She created a thriving company dedicated to revolutionizing the industry while giving back to her community. Join them as they dive into Mona's inspiring journey and explore the intersection of personal health, clean beauty, and making a positive impact on the world.
About Mona Ockenden
Email: mona@monamoonnaturals.com
LinkedIn: www.linkedin.com/in/mona-samaan-ockenden-bbb757
When Mona’s sister was diagnosed with breast cancer, she learned about the many hormone-disrupting and harmful ingredients in body care products. She began using safer and cleaner products but had a hard time finding a deodorant that kept her feeling fresh and confident all day.
Mona Moon Naturals was born after perfecting a DIY recipe with feedback from family and friends. Mona Moon Naturals are made with limited ingredients that are all non-GMO and natural. As an added bonus, we love being able to pronounce every last ingredient. And we know what they are, too.
10% of profits go to the Breast Cancer Coalition of Rochester to support those touched by breast or gynecological cancers
Prior to Mona’s transition to building her company, she spent 25 years in the engineering and telecommunication industry in various leadership roles such as Chief Operating Office, Chief Strategy Officer and Senior VP of Business Development. She has an AAS degree in Architectural and Construction and BS in Civil Engineering Technology.
She is very passionate in living well and creating a healthy environment. As someone who enjoys solving challenges, creating safe, natural products for our body gives Mona joy.

Ep. 85: True Body Intelligence
Join host Nick Koziol in an inspiring episode with Terrific guest Christopher Lee Maher. A former Navy SEAL, Christopher battled joint pain that threatened to derail his life. He sought answers and his determination to push through led to a holistic approach that transformed his life and countless others.
Learn about his journey from Navy SEAL to holistic healer, his innovative True Body Intelligence technology, and how it's impacting fields from sports to international politics. Discover True Body Intelligence through the mind-body-spirit power of peak performance and longevity in this must-listen episode.
About Christopher Maher
At the age of 22, Christopher Lee Maher was a Navy SEAL, in his prime with a sleek 1.8% body fat and pound for pound, he was one of the fittest people on the planet. Like many high performing athletes, he dealt with joint pain on a semi-consistent basis. Over time, that escalated to pain in every joint, in his feet, lower back, and neck. He was headed for a full-blown hip replacement, resorted to reading lips because his hearing was shot, and his vision wasn’t much better.
Through intense pain, Christopher devoted all of his energy, time, and resources seeking out answers that would alleviate his discomfort. Eventually finding relief, Christopher applied the learned techniques and worked on himself 5 to 6 hours every day for 7 years.
Christopher went on to study at the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine and Yo San University, where he learned Traditional Chinese Medical Practices and an equal amount of Western science and pathology. He spent the last decade studying at The Universal Healing Tao System and is a Master student of Grand Master Mantak Chia at the Universal Tao Master School in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
His knowledge and experience led him to develop a comprehensive system of total physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual healing and integration: the True Body Intelligence technology. With his help, Christopher’s clients have succeeded at the highest levels in sports, entertainment, business, medicine, and international politics.
Christopher’s practice is located in Los Angeles, CA. He is an author, inventor, entrepreneur, speaker, coach, and innovator in the fields of health, wellness, and longevity.

TST Ep 77: Sager Beer Works with Paul Guarracini
When you come to Sager you are in for a terrific experience. Sagar is a 5 BBL brewhouse, a cozy tap room filled with old-world charm that features a German-style long table S-bar and comfy corner. One thing you’ll also see is a sign with a quote from William Butler Yeats, “There Are No Strangers Here; Only Friends You Haven’t Yet Met”. Paul Guarracini, Co-Founder/Brewmaster of Sager Beer Works, and his business partner Don Tuminelli, created a “Beer Lover’s Haven” where friends and family can meet to eat, drink and just hang out. They didn’t just stop with an amazing atmosphere, terrific beer, and great food…they took over 20 years of craft brewing passion and built clever ways to help non-profits and positively impact the community.
About Paul Guarracini, Partner/Brewmaster Sager Beer Works
Email: paul@sagerbeerworks.com
After thirty-plus years in Supply Chain & Logistics at Eastman Kodak, Paul achieved a dream held by many homebrewers like himself and decided to go "pro" in 2012. His first brewery, Fairport Brewing Co, was successful but partnerships can be difficult, and he separated from that business in 2017. Soon thereafter, he reunited with Don Tumminelli, another local homebrewer, to open Sager Beer Works in 2018. Focusing on classic beers brewed by Paul, elevated pub food by Don, and a cozy environment to enjoy them, the brewpub has firmly established itself in the Rochester beer scene. Reflecting on their journey and those that have helped them, Paul and Don have a habit of sharing knowledge and giving back through seminars, charity beer projects, and mentoring start-up breweries.

It was initially called Smash Therapy. His determination to make his brainchild stand out from the rest of the existing rage room operators in the region eventually spread like wildfire among other business owners. Smash Therapy was not only becoming famous, but it was also very successful. He started another iSmash location in Syracuse, NY, and in no time at all, Shortino became an industry leader. People came to him, asking him for solutions to their rage room issues, now you can be part of the franchise as they expand the concept nationally.

Ep. 62: GiveToGet with Jon Mardis
Imagine being surrounded by people who want to help you land your preferred job and being proactively approached by several employers trying to recruit you. Your next job starts with GiveToGet. Join host Nick Koziol as we learn from Jon Mardis how GiveToGet is Revolutionizing the Job Transition World.
About Jon Mardis, Founder GiveToGet
Email: jon@givetoget.us
LinkedIn: www.linkedin.com/in/jonathan-mardis-mba
Jon Mardis is the Founder of a Revolutionary Talent Acquisition Solution called GIVETOGET - Cincinnati Born & Raised, went to St. X and UC Grad and has an MBA in Finance & Marketing.
The motto at his high school was “men for others” and it stuck with him in life and career. He found that this life-guiding principle was far less common than he had hoped or expected, and it was this M.O. that inspired a vision and decision to leave a successful 20-year career as a leader in financial services to create something unique. Mardis saw a HUGE opportunity and is fired up to talk about it!
In 2019, Mardis was entrenched in the job transition world as a Managing Director and lead recruiter for a firm when he experienced firsthand the problems that he was attempting to solve. Job seekers don’t help job seekers, lack social networks and connections to get referred to employers and resort to job boards as there’s no external platform dedicated to providing warm introductions into employers. Employers are disconnected from talent and focus too much on sourcing on job boards. Talent acquisition isn’t personal, yet referrals are the #1 source of talent acquisition.
His concept and approach would disrupt a stale and fragmented industry but had no idea after going dormant in 2020, that in 2021, HR tech would be the latest craze for innovation and capital. If he didn’t recognize that talent acquisition isn’t personal and job transition is inefficient and takes personal actions to fill these voids, Mardis wouldn’t have taken the initiative to launch his company in March 2021. Mardis is excited about the journey and in love with the problems that they are solving.
