Myself & @nlnbegley came up with an idea for a film and as soon as we planned to execute, Toronto went into another lockdown. Free works sucks, but is necessary in pretty much any creative field. If you want to stretch yourself, try new things and build your portfolio, it's important to be seeking out the right kind of free work. What do you want to be paid to do? There's two main ways to end up working for yourself. Build it up slowly as a side hustle or take the leap of faith, go all in, make it your soul purpose and have no plan b. Last month I took a break from social media, which meant everything that has a feed. I noticed that my screen time was super high, I reached for my phone constantly whenever there was a pause. ie: public transit, waiting in line or even a lull in conversation. The worst part was, I wasn't even doing it on purpose. All out of habit. I recorded this episode with my girlfriend Taryn to shed some light on the process, why it was important to me and how it changed my habits throughout the month. 10/10 would encourage anyone to do it, even if you think you don't have a problem.
