TFO Iron Riders, what are they? On this episode we hear from Sarah Nichols and Brad Hancock. Sarah has been actively raising funds for The Fallen Outdoors by riding in cycling events in Washington, but wanting to connect with other veterans who enjoyed riding as well, she came up with the idea for a fun challenge to bring veterans together through the sport of cycling, and the TFO Iron Riders were born.

wildHERness was officially started in May of 2020, and they haven't slowed down since! During a pandemic, this organization has done so much to further the skills and friendships of women through outdoors activities such as hunting and fishing, but the events don't stop there. They host all outdoor events, such as trapping classes, concealed carry classes, kayak trips, orienting, and they are having a huge workshop/camp out in September that will have 40+ outdoor themed workshops in Missouri! 15 - Branden Trager TFO Treasurer
Branden has had one of the most interesting careers in the military that I've come across yet. From working as a generals aid when he got to his first duty station, to getting to work with General Stanley McChrystal as his personal assistant, the stories are endless and the conversation was great.
Branden has been with TFO from the very beginning and has a wealth of knowledge and stories to share about the organization and what it continues to do today. From guiding veterans on waterfowl and fishing trips, to providing disaster recovery assistance with TFO during Hurricane Harvey. We are excited to share Branden's story as we take a deep dive into the many experiences he's enjoyed while in the outdoors, serving the country, and continuing to serve veterans now that he's retired.

13 - Justin Boardman TFO National Staff Director
Justin started his career in the Army at 17 as an airborne infantryman where he served with the 82nd Airborne Division for 6 years before going on to Special Forces Assessment and Selection. He is still on Active duty as a Green Beret. Justin is a very avid and successful waterfowl hunter and bowhunter for deer and elk. Justin is also an avid bass fisherman and plans on fishing in more tournaments in the PNW to spread our name across the veteran community.

10 - TFO President Justin Clawson
Justin was born in Gallup, New Mexico and grew up hunting mule deer, elk, bear, and mountain lions. He joined the U.S. Army in 2009 as a 13B cannon crew member and was stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, Joint Base Lewis McCord, Washington and Fort Bliss Texas. Justin was asked to fill the role of Secretary in 2014 and in 2019, was asked to fill the role of TFO President.

9 - TFO Secretary Shasta Morton
Shasta was raised hunting and fishing. Her dad and uncles are avid outdoorsmen and they pursued deer, turkey and fished a lot. She joined the Army Reserve in 2000 and attended Basic Training that summer before her senior year in High School. In 2004, she joined Active Duty and was stationed in Wackernheim, Germany where she was part of an Air Missile Defense Detachment for 1st Armor Division. In 2007 her unit was deployed to Iraq for a 15 month rotation. In 2010, she deployed to Iraq again, serving another 12 month deployment

What started as a fundraiser for TFO and a chance to raise awareness of the 22 has evolved into something more meaningful and an inspiration to cyclers around the US. Founded in 2018, Wander Woman Kansas was developed to bring women together in a tough outdoor industry that can be difficult to navigate. Whether you are an expert in outdoor sports, or have not had an opportunity, Wander Woman is here to make those outdoor bucket lists a possibility.

6 - TFO Kansas Lead Bobby Cole
Bobby is a 14 year veteran of the National Guard. Spending most of his time in the Military Police world. He is recently medically retired and works for the Kansas Commission on Veterans Affairs helping veterans navigate their way through the VA system to access their benefits. Bobby has recently become the Lead for the state of Kansas and today we sit down and talk about a lot of things, from deployments to Egypt and Dijbouti, mental health, and upcoming TFO Kansas events.

5 - TFO Midwest Regional Director Adam Lanier
Adam is a veteran of the USMC. He worked in field artillery piloting weapons systems while stationed at 29 palms California. He is a combat veteran of OIF with multiple rotations and provides a unique perspective on what it was like during the initial push to Iraq post 9/11, being recalled, and transitioning to civilian life post-war. Adam is currently the Midwest Regional Director for The Fallen Outdoors.

1 - The Fallen Outdoors Founder Eric Bakken
Eric Bakken was born and raised in Minnesota and joined the United States Army at 20 years old. He has a wonderful wife named Nikki and a beautiful daughter named Finnley who is named after his best friend Eric Finniginamm who was killed in Afghanistan during their first tour in 2009. He served in the army for almost 8 years as a 11B infantry. During that time, he deployed several times for operation Enduring Freedom along with attending school and holding most leadership positions in an infantry line platoon. He left the Army in 2015 to pursue my dream of growing The Fallen Outdoors to its full potential. Eric has been an avid outdoors-man his whole life. From fishing to big game and everything in between with a preference for waterfowl hunting.

4 - Fieldcraft Survival CEO Mike Glover
Mike Glover is the CEO of Field Craft Survival (www.fieldcraftsurvival.com). Mike spent 18 years in the US Army and as a government contractor for OGA. He served as a SGM in Special Forces in various positions and deployed multiple times to combat theaters. He is an expert in Counter Terrorism, security, and crisis management operations and is the host of the Fieldcraft Survival Podcast on iTunes, and Soundcloud. He is an avid outdoorsman, overland enthusiast, traveler, and hunter. He has a bachelors degree in Homeland Security and resides in Prescott, AZ where he is the CEO of Fieldcraft Survival.

3 - TFO National Staff Director and Kayak Angler Mike Unruh
Mike Unruh is a 20 year veteran of the US Army. He spent time all over inside the world of Military Police, whether it was running narcotics dogs in Hawaii and Washington DC or working in the Criminal Investigation Command (CID). Mike is the national staff director for The Fallen Outdoors and an avid kayak angler.

The Fallen Outdoors - Midwest assist veterans from all branches who honorably served get outdoors and strives to either teach them something new, or simply uses that medium as a way to reconnect them with fellow like minded individuals.
