Here to talk about her own experience as a South Asian Muslim actor is Farah Merani. Farah is a classically trained actor and creator, based between LA and Toronto who has performed on stage and on screen across North America, Europe, and Russia. She has appeared in AppleTV’s “SEE” and NBC-TV’s “Quantum Leap,” Shadowhunters, and Nikita. Farah has lived in 6 different countries on three continents, speaks 4 languages, and is dedicated to sharing the stories of her family, community, and ancestors. In this episode, we talk about how Farah followed her heart (against her family's desire) to become an actor, fitting in and feeling othered, her evolving perception of her own beauty, her view of diversity and inclusivity in the media, and how she brings her full cultural identity to the roles she plays.

Episode 57: Steve Bacon - Change Your Beliefs and Change Your Life
When life gets rough, it's very common to use coping mechanisms to help get through it, when what we truly need is to HEAL. Steve Bacon once found himself on the path to prison and death. He experienced so much pain and suffering in his early years of life — 14 schools, 2 marriages, crack houses, abuse, molestation, anger issues, alcohol troubles, and attempted suicide — all before he was 20 years old. It took a long time for him to see it but all of his trauma was a gift. After a profound reckoning, he began a journey toward healing. By uprooting harmful beliefs and choosing to look at his past through a new lens, he now experiences a life that gives him joy and purpose. Today, Steve is a Master Life Coach, Trainer, Speaker, and Author of Start Here: 7 Steps to Living Your Best Life. He founded Belief Theory, a program that works to break the stigma of mental health in communities of color to create thriving families and compassionate leaders. Through this work with Belief Theory, people transform their self-image, discover their true purpose, and learn to build healthy, lasting relationships.

Sometimes traumatic experiences can shift our consciousness to a different dimension. That's what happened to award-winning author, speaker, and educator, Dr. Marni Hill Foderaro. Marni spent 35 years as a high school special education teacher and 12 years as a university adjunct graduate school professor. She received a doctorate in education from Northern Illinois University and completed postdoctoral studies at Harvard. Then, Marni was hit with life-changing trauma, which caused her to experience numerous spiritual encounters. She wrote several books inspired by her life transformation, including the spiritual fiction novel, God Came to My Garage Sale. In this episode, we talk about Marni's post-traumatic visions, miracles, and visitations. We also discuss Marni's early work with special needs children and the healing power of nature.

Fortunately, Logan’s announcement was predominantly met with support. She would go on to become her city’s first openly transgender athlete, ASB President, and Homecoming Queen - one of the first for California. And during high school, Logan was medically transitioning, breaking down barriers in transgender healthcare. She became the first known minor of Kaiser Permanente to be approved for and undergo gender affirmation surgery, allowing future youth similar opportunities.
Today, Logan is a model, represented by agencies in Los Angeles, New York, and London. It is Logan’s mission to achieve better representation for all, including transgender women of color. So that one day, it will no longer be necessary to come out. Enjoy the listen!
