Tara Moreno-Wallen, M.A., ADS, is the Founder & Executive Director of The Serenity House of Flint and holds a master’s degree in Composition and Rhetoric from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor’s in Telecommunications from Michigan State University. Moreno worked as a news reporter for four years before becoming the founder and executive director of Serenity House in 2015. Moreno’s inspiration came from her own recovery journey. She trained in recovery coaching through Genesee Health Systems in 2016 and is a member of the Genesee County Prevention Coalition. She also sits on Genesee County’s Family Against Narcotics advisory board. Other networks also include Faces & Voices for Recovery and Mobilize Recovery, national organizations geared at eradicating addiction stigma and unifying people in recovery. Moreno is also a certified Reiki master teacher, developer of Recovery Reiki, and is a certified Acudetox Specialist.
Ms. Moreno is experienced in non-profit board development and recruitment, strategic planning, and budget crafting and implementation. Her role includes developing, leading on, and managing project strategies and work plans; managing and supervising staff and directing tasks on individual projects; providing strategic guidance of varying substance to staff on a wide variety of issues; directing stakeholder interactions, including facilitating meetings, calls, presentations, and conferences; contributing to the planning and new outreach development, including drafting proposals for potential clients. Moreno collaborates with individuals and/or organizations such as law enforcement, health care, and other community resources and systems in Genesee County and other regions in the state of Michigan to establish working relationships and systems of referral and engagement with recovery coaches and recovery support services.

Tina Clements is the founder of RISEUP an Addiction Recovery Support Center (ARSC), CARES, and a CPS, RISE UP stands for Recovery in Supportive Environment Utilizing Peers. They are a community-based program based in Dublin, GA.
For National Recovery Month RISEUP Recovery is hosting a Tri-County Recovery Car Rally in Georgia.
RISEUP will ride through downtown Dublin on September 12th and they will travel through Swainsboro, GA to join Freedom Through Recovery by noon to bring awareness to Statesboro, GA, finally both RISEUP and Freedom Through Recovery will travel to Jesup, GA to join forces with Face To Face Recovery. all three ARSC / RCO's will end the day at the Jesup Drive-In theater to celebrate Recovery with a dinner and a movie.
They are hoping for a great turn out to support the efforts of awareness for Recovery.

Mike Todd is the Founder and Executive Director of the Freedom Recovery Center of Greenville & Recovery Advocacy Project -S.C / State Lead. Mike helped found the South Carolina Alliance for Recovery Residences in 2017, a state organization bringing standards, ethics, and accountability to recovery residences in South Carolina. He also is a state leader with the National Organization Recovery Advocacy Project bringing a much-needed voice to those suffering from substance use disorder and in recovery at a state and national level.
Debbie Fling is a mother of two sons who are both addicts and have both been incarcerated. She decided years ago that She needed to educate herself on their disease, rather than continuously being a mother just praying that they live. She started reading and attending everything she could and joined Project Act Now in Washington County, MD through the Health Dept and started a support group there for family members of loved ones who are addicted. She's also a board member and active with a non-profit called Justice and Recovery Advocates who help family members of those addicted loved ones who are incarcerated as well as helping with re-entry services.
Beth Schmidt went from a stay at home/team mom to addiction prevention advocate overnight when her son, Sean, lost his battle with heroin addiction in 2013, just 2 days after his 23 rd birthday. Since that time, Beth has been instrumental in bringing the heroin epidemic to the forefront by joining forces with numerous organizations and schools, speaking out about the need for stronger preventative measures, and for support of families battling with the addictions of loved ones. Beth has been the recipient of many awards and accolades and plans to continue her passionate fight to bring much-needed changes to the opioid crisis.

The system basically ignores these patients and waits for them “to hit bottom/come get help” (this represents 90% of people with SUD).
In 2018 we launched www.youturn.net. As co-founder & Chief Strategy Officer, I direct content and ensure fidelity with the model. Youturn provides premium video content focused on psychoeducation, skill-building, and early intervention for substance use and mental health. Casey Copeland was born and raised in Little Rock, Arkansas. By the age of 27, he was diagnosed as having clinical depression and was prescribed medication that he began abusing. Over time, this led to him using much harder drugs and resulted in his incarceration. Casey is now a certified Peer Recovery Support Specialist (PRSS), and supervisor to all of the PRSS’s in the State of Arkansas.

John Lehman previously served FARR as a certification inspector, outreach chair, and liaison to the National Alliance for Recovery Residences (NARR). Over the last two years, he has helped to develop the organizational infrastructure and continues to support initiatives to enhance the rights of residents who seek to enjoy alcohol-drug free housing that is safe, clean, and peer support.
