Elliot is a professional musical theatre actor who recently graduated from Leeds Conservatoire. Currently on tour in the Stock Aitken and Waterman Musical ‘I Should Be So Lucky’, Elliot is putting his stamp on the musical theatre industry with his recent ‘Rising Star’ nomination in the West End Wilma Awards.

In this week's episode, Carol talks to Sam Rawlings. The Raise Word for this episodes is EMPATHY

Sam has been in private practice since Sept 2021. She is a Children's Creative Counsellor and supports children from six upwards using a range of creativity and play. She has two adult daughters and three grandchildren. Sam isn't afraid to act silly and enjoys spending time with her grandchildren to do just that.
Her background covers over 25 years in childcare settings. These include nurseries, children's centres, schools, children's residential homes, mentoring for the children's society, the guide association, and a mental health support team. She progressed through her career and became a school counsellor, something she had worked towards since qualifying. Her values and beliefs are supporting children from an early age will reduce the need for therapeutic intervention in adult life.

In this week's episode, Carol talks to Bukky Ayoade. The Raise word for this episode is PREPARE. This is a menopause special episode.

Bukky is the Health and Wellness Specialist behind Vibrant Midlife Wellness Practice. She's raising the profile of Midlife (40+) and how to embrase this phase of life. She has a special interest in lifestyle medicine and women's health - specifically the Menopause.

In this week's episode, Carol talks to Joanna Jones. Joanna is a Consultant Speech and Language Therapist, Mum of 4 and the founder of Can-Do Speech Therapy. Can-Do is a freah approach to supporting families with late talking children. She has been doing this bit for 3 years and has been featured on The One Show, BBC Radio, SEN, Nursery World and in the Autism Parenting magazine.

In this week's episode, Carol talks to Karen Wright and they didn't just talk about baking!

Karen was a contestant on the Great British Bake Off 2018, she taught herself to bake whilst applying for the show. As she says, her repertoire of baking was extremely limited prior to that. She stepped up and switched her life around using the confidence she had gained in the show. She also says that she seeks out opportunities and takes on challenges wherever she finds them.

In this week's episode, Carol talks to Lindsey Fekete. The Raise Word for this episode is LEARN.

Having spent the last 23 years teaching in primary schools - and half of that in senior leadership roles - Lindsey now runs a successful online maths tuition business. Parents love to see the transformation in their children when they’re given support from a caring, confidence-boosting tutor like Lindsey.

His new book is his first novel - Auntie and Uncles: The Bizarre Birth of the BBC, based on his podcast The British Broadcasting Century.

In this week's episode, Carol speaks to Zara Salloway about the Raise Word "Sparkle". Zara is the jewellery creator and the owner of Zra Jewellery. Along side that she is a paediatric nurse. She says "I have always love to make things and have tried my hand at many different crafts but jewellery has always been my favourite. I am loving wood and resin and the wonderful items of unique individual jewellery these two medium create. I hope you do too." Our host Carol adores Zara's creations!

In this week's episode, Carol speaks to Gareth 'Angel' Thompson about the Raise Word "Villain". 

Gaz is the Founder of Wrestling Church and GT Ministries, an evangelist, actor, public speaker, ambassador for The First Man Standing campaign with Restored and a pro Wrestler. Married to Beth with 2 girls, Isla and Isabella. Based in Bradford with a real heart to reach the working class with the Gospel.

Gareth describes wrestling as "soap operas for men". At it's core wrestling is story telling, it is entertainment rather than a sport. Launched in April 2022 and based out of Fountains Church in Bradford, there is an evening of worship, teaching and wrestling. From GT Ministries's website it says: "An opportunity for us to create a worshipping community of christians, using the bible and wrestling to shape our faith and personal relationship with Jesus. We build these events around particular bible stories and themes that encourage us to engage with God in a new way, and drive our own discipleship."

Sarah is a a wife, daughter, sister, school teacher and mother of two young (but not small!) boys living in North Yorkshire. Sarah says "I have always wanted to add 'author' to the list of names people call me, and over the next couple of months, I will finally be able to do that as my debut novel - Angelkind: Elevation, will be published."

Elevation is the first book in the Angelkind series; a collection of fantasy fiction novels that tell the story of an angelic kingdom which is not all that it should be.

 Bryn is co-director of Move & Learn (CIC) - as well as advising the BBC and the Premier League on their educational content.

According to a 10-year-old child at a school in London, “Bryn is a genius.” However, his friends and family know the truth. Bryn worked in various UK schools for over 20 years as a teacher and school leader. In 2013, he founded Tagtiv8. His pioneering approach to Physically Active Learning (PAL) provides an enjoyable alternative to classroom-based learning – crucial when challenging the increasing problem of sedentary lifestyles. Research by Leeds Beckett University demonstrates that Tagtiv8 PAL solutions tackle inactivity and obesity levels, as well as impacting positively on academic performance. Following this research, Dr Andy Daly-Smith and Bryn Llewellyn co-delivered their TEDx Talk.

Jude is a poet, wordsmith, writer and performer.  She has performed her solo show of poetry and comedy around the UK and has won a number of national poetry slams.  Having concentrated on raising children over the last few years, she is now getting back to her creative side, and has entertained us with her pandemic-based songs and poems on her YouTube channel this year!
