Episode 57 - Responsibility
Responsibility in today’s world, even on the smallest level, seems to be lacking in a tremendous way. Technically, if you have never been held accountable or needed to be responsible for your actions because someone always came in and saved the day, then in reality, it is not completely your fault. However, the day is going to come where you will have a very rude awakening for your lack of responsibility, and hopefully by reading this you will understand.
“The evasion of responsibility is the major cause of most people’s frustrations and defeats.” — Ayn Rand
“We live in a world in which we need to share responsibility. It’s easy to say “It’s not my child, not my community, not my world, not my problem.” Then there are those who see the need and respond. I consider those people my heroes.” — Fred Rogers

Episode 54 - What If It Does...?
Often times we stop ourselves from doing something because we say, “What if it doesn't work?” When saying what if it doesn't, make sure that you also think about, “what if it does work?” The important lesson that I want everyone to take away today is, when you say “what if it doesn't happen,” give more attention to “what if it does happen?” Learn from what I say today, and never give more attention to "What if it doesn't?"

Writing your goals and creating a vision board are action steps, as they give you the right mindset and make you remember what you are working towards, but NOW, to make them happen, you need to take further action by asking yourself, "What can I do today to bring me closer to where I want to be?"

Episode 48: The Gratitude Challenge
After listening to today’s episode, I challenge you for the next 7 days to actually write down, every morning, 10 things you are grateful for, and every night, 10 things that you are grateful for that happened that day, before you go to bed. Try not to repeat anything! As well, do one act of kindness each day, something as small as a kind word or a helping hand. We often wish we had what others have, and when we can get out of our own way and be grateful for what we have and stop focusing on what we don’t have, we will then start to feel greater joy and happiness in our own lives.
Make sure after 7 days, you share with me how you feel, and how your mind has shifted to making you feel happier and more joy every day!

Episode 47: The Journey of Kyra Kim
Born and raised in South Korea, Kyra is an inspiration of what determination and hard work can create. Growing up in a rigid, competitive structure where societal expectations were focused on great success, she didn’t exactly fit the traditional mold of family expectations. As a child, she often changed her mind about what she wanted to be and was a free spirit. Despite what others thought she should do, Kyra took her own path and did very well! Today she works for the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory, where she studies the Earth’s water. Her focus is on comparing groundwater storage measurements to better understand linkages between groundwater depletion, land subsidence, and geochemistry. Her story is quite compelling, and one to make her family and community very proud!

Episode 46: Ria Story, Everyone Has a Story to Tell
Ria Story is a leadership speaker, trainer, and author. However, her story, and how she came to be where she is today, is not one that began with such great optimism. From 12 to 19 years of age, she was sexually abused and trafficked by her father. She became a victim of her circumstances, lacked self-confidence, and she was unable to help herself or anyone else. She encountered moments where she wanted to take her own life because she thought she would never get out of her situation. This story is all too common, and many women, who have gone through this as young girls, are unable to feel a sense of self-worth and self-love. I bring you Ria’s story so that you or someone you know, who may be going through the same tragedy can look to her for inner strength and guidance.
"What happens to us influences us, there is no doubt. But, HOW it influences us is what's most important. If your past is holding you back from reaching your potential, it's not serving you. Choose to let it go and move forward. You can't move forward very well if you are dragging the past behind you." - Ria Story

This is the close of week two of the pilot mentoring group, and I really hope that you can see that no matter what age you are that success can be created in a very easy way, once your mind has instilled in it the confidence to you believe you can succeed. Episode 22 - Living Your Life With Jealousy and Envy
We waste a lot of time and energy being jealous or having envy for what other people have. So, what’s the difference between the two? Often known as the "Green-Eyed Monster" jealousy is defined as feeling or showing desire to be someone or have their achievements and advantages. Envy is a feeling of discontentment or resentful longing aroused by someone else's possessions, qualities, or luck.
Listen and reflect if you are harboring feelings of jealousy or envy and take steps today to get rid of them from your life. Love you for who you are. Don’t be surface deep. Look into what those people, who you are jealous of or who you envy, did to get to where they are today. Always stay true to yourself and never be tempted by fame, fortune or greed. They will take you down a road that you don’t want to go down.

Episode 20 - Indifference
Indifference is standing by and watching things around you happening and not really doing much about it. You don't feel one way or another. You have no real interest in liking it. disliking it, there's no enthusiasm, no real concern; it's neither good nor bad; it's being neutral basically. A lot of times people don't get involved or people don't do anything about situations until it affects them personally. Why?
Evil prevails when good people do nothing. – Les Brown

Episode 17 - Compare and Contrast... Proceed at your own risk!
On today's episode we will talk about how we compare ourselves and others to an idea that we have in our mind about what should and should not be, and how ultimately the act of doing this can be detrimental to our overall success. By doing this we hold ourselves and others to a standard that will ultimately fail, as it is only surface deep. Always remember the Golden Rule from Jones of Toledo, "What I want for myself, I want for everybody!" Love yourself and everyone else... that is true success!

Episode 15 - Empathy and Tolerance
I am sure you have heard the phrase, “Don’t judge someone until you walk a mile in their shoes.” Being empathetic and tolerant in an already biased world, can be difficult, especially when what the other person is doing or saying is hurtful. On today's episode we're going to talk about empathy. Empathy is the capacity to understand or feel what another person is experiencing from within their frame of reference, that is, the capacity to place oneself in another's position… and we need to understand how important empathy really is when understanding what other people are going through and why they do what they do as a part of creating success in our life.

Episode 12 – Stopping Just Short of the Finish Line
Today's episode is about giving up just before the finish line. This is the biggest mistake that most people make when they come across a difficulty or what they consider a failure. Perseverance is defined as persistence in doing something despite difficulty or delay in achieving success. The key lesson to take away today is that there is a reason why only 5 to 8% of people are truly successful and achieve their dreams. The reason for this is because they stop just short of achieving their goal due to a difficulty, setback or challenge along the way. As well, you will learn the importance of seeking counsel or advice when a difficulty or setback crosses your path.
