Self Love and the Divine Monster within You w/ Rachel Astarte #7
Self love isn't eating a sleeve of Oreos. It's also not forcing yourself to take the "best" path in every single situation. It's caring for your self and also being gentle but firm with yourself. We also get into how important men have been to society and how they've been shortchanged in recent years, listening and giving room to the monster within all of us, and learning to view challenges in life as a beautiful thing that you get to test your mettle against.
In addition to her psychotherapeutic work, she also a professional public speaker and voice-over artist. Her book, "Celebrating Solitude: How to Discover and Honor Your Highest Self," has been a helpful guide for her clients and others during the pandemic. In addition, she is the creator and host of the podcast, "Self Talk with Rachel Astarte." Previous interviews have revolved around self-development toward building a healthier global community.

Make it painful to act any other way... w/ Fletcher Ellingson #6
This conversation with Fletcher was SO insightful!
Do you want to feel more gritty? Resourceful? Flexible? Competent?
Well..... did you believe in Santa as a child? If you did, it was because there was enough evidence that Santa was real. When you inevitably found out he isn't real, it was no doubt painful.
If you want to feel more gritty, odds are on a scale of 0% to 100% grit, you're not 0% gritty. That means that you've got some grit already in you!! IN THERE ALREADY! Well as you pay attention to the grit you already have, it grows. As you see your grit and grow your grit, you build EVIDENCE that you are gritty! BOOM! Well just like with Santa, because you have evidence you're gritty, it becomes painful to act any other way!

Rebuilding your life and getting fit w/ Jack Stacey
Jack and I talked about his gym business that he sold, life collapsing on him and discovering that some things needed to change if he was going to be the best father and husband he could be. We didn't really talk about this much but I really found inspiration from Jack. I'm also a father and I wish I spent more time with them. I'm inspired by Jack because he's put himself in a situation where he can spend more time with his sons. Jack has a great perspective on addiction, rebuilding his life, rebuilding his life, and growing a business.
