Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about the club we love, Arsenal Football Club.

Arsenal end the season on a high with a stunning 5-0 display to end on 84 points and 5 points behind champions Manchester City. From the start, Arsenal showcased their attacking prowess and dominated the game. They displayed excellent teamwork and fluidity, moving the ball with precision and purpose. The goals flowed consistently, with the players demonstrating their clinical finishing. The defense remained solid throughout the match, denying Wolves any real chances. Overall, it was a convincing and impressive win for Arsenal, highlighting their strength and potential. A momentous occasion as Granit bowed out with 2 goals in what was a Man of the Match performance.

The Arsenal Therapy Podcast - Nottingham Forest 1-0 Arsenal (EP.149)

Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about the club we love, Arsenal Football Club.

Manchester City were officially crowned champions as Arsenal lost to Nottingham Forest who secure their place in next seasons Premier League campaign. Arsenal were completely outplayed and lacked any sort of determination or fighting spirit. From the very beginning, Forest set the tone with their aggressive and physical approach, leaving Arsenal unable to find their rhythm. It was frustrating to witness Arsenal's slow and uninspiring possession, as they failed to make any impactful passes or break through the opposition's defence. The goal they conceded was a result of a careless mistake by Ødegaard. Throughout the game, Arsenal seemed disinterested and lacked the passion needed to turn the match around. It's disheartening to see such a lackluster performance, especially considering the talent and potential in the squad. This loss is a clear indication that there is a serious lack of ambition and a winning mentality within the team, which is a major concern for the future.

The Arsenal Therapy Podcast - Arsenal 0-3 Brighton (EP.148)

Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about the club we love, Arsenal Football Club.

Arsenal's hopes of winning a Premier League title came to a disappointing end as Brighton delivered the knockout blow in a bitterly crushing 3-0 defeat at the Emirates stadium. Although it is still mathematically possible for the Gunners to win the title, Manchester City can secure top spot if they beat Chelsea on Sunday which is more than likely. Arsenal arrived at the Emirates having learnt that Manchester City cruised past Everton in a routine away fixture which put them 4 points ahead of their title chasing rivals. This, added with the quality of their opposition were two factors that weighed too much for the Gunners to secure a 3rd successive win.

The Arsenal Therapy Podcast - Newcastle Utd 0-2 Arsenal (EP.147)

Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about the club we love, Arsenal Football Club.

Arsenal produced a brilliant away performance at St James Park to keep their title hopes very much alive. Only Liverpool had beaten Newcastle at St James Park this season and that was with Newcastle playing with 10 men for the majority of the game. This time around Arsenal battled physically in all areas of the pitch to keep a clean sheet but also to produce good counter attacking moments which was how they scored the second goal. It was clear from the first minute of the game that Newcastle would play with an aggressive front footed approach. Arsenal had to rely on certain bits of good defensive work from Kiwior and Gabriel, but it was the calm composure and leadership skills of Jorginho who helped the young Arsenal squad to find their way to victory. Jorginho was instrumental in creating a good defensive shape and helped progress the ball into key areas of the pitch which helped us stay in the game during a time when Newcastle were throwing wave after wave of long balls deep into our half.

The Arsenal Therapy Podcast - Arsenal 3-1 Chelsea (EP.146)

Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about the club we love, Arsenal Football Club.

Arsenal fans wanted a response from the team having let the title slip into the hands of Man City, and they got it! A masterclass first half performance saw the Gunners blow away a lacklustre Chelsea who looked absolutely short of any confidence and allowed Arsenal to control every blade of grass. The positive attitude and overall aggressive attacking tempo helped us score early on allowing us to continue playing in a really confident fashion that gave us the next two goals. Despite a really tepid first half Chelsea performance they managed to claw back a goal and pushed for a second until the final whistle. Despite dominating the game, Arsenal failed to score in the second half which some may find frustrating but the positive performance gives Arsenal some hope of pushing City to the very end.

Arsenal suffer a humiliating defeat at the hands of Manchester City who are now in the drivers seat as they close the gap to 2 points with 2 games in hand. From the very start of the game they were comfortable and asserted a type of dominance that only champions are capable of producing. They had the experience and a level of composure that put Arsenal on the polar opposite end. Arsenal failed to start the game on the front foot and allowed City too much time and space on the ball. They got an early goal and Arsenal failed to respond with any sort of intensity or pressure. Arsenal were completely outplayed by City in every department and deservedly take all 3 points.

The Arsenal Therapy Podcast - Arsenal 3-3 Southampton (EP.144)

Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about the club we love, Arsenal Football Club.

Arsenal suffered yet another frustrating draw to Southampton at the Emirates Stadium as the chase for the title starts to really heat up. The game started off poorly with Ramsdale creating a mistake to gift Southampton the lead. This led to misplaced passes and a lack of response to Southampton's press. The decision to play Vieira instead of an experienced Jorginho saw us approach the game tentatively, and it seemed like Southampton were more fluid in possession. While we did manage to pull one back with a great goal from Martinelli, the momentum still seemed to be with Southampton, and we continued to struggle with slow movement and poor decision making.

As the match progressed, we made some substitutions, but it still felt like we were lacking the urgency and intensity needed to get back into the game. However it was until the final 10 minutes where Odegaard and Sara salvaged what could be a crucial point as it all comes down to the game at the Etihad.

The Arsenal Therapy Podcast - West Ham 2-2 Arsenal (EP.143)

Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about the club we love, Arsenal Football Club.

Arsenal faced a disappointing defeat against West Ham this afternoon. The Gunners struggled to find their rhythm throughout the match, with West Ham dominating large parts of the game and creating several goal scoring opportunities. Despite some promising moments, Arsenal's defence was vulnerable, and West Ham capitalised on defensive lapses to secure a convincing victory. The defeat leaves Arsenal fans disappointed, and highlights the need for improvements as they look to bounce back in their upcoming fixtures. Arsenal struggled to create clear-cut chances in the final third, with their attacking efforts largely ineffective against West Ham's resolute defence. The defeat marks a setback for Arsenal's ambitions and puts pressure on the team to regroup, analyse their performance, and work towards improving their form in the next matches. Arsenal fans will be hoping for a swift response from their team as they strive to climb the league table and achieve their season objectives.

Arsenal lose a 2-0 lead to draw at Anfield against a Liverpool side who had the officials on their side. What would have been a really desirable point at Anfield at the beginning of the game turned out to be a frustrating ending following a list of dodgy officiating decisions. Arsenal dominated the opening 35 minutes with 2 well worked team goals. Liverpool were allowed back into the game following a moment of madness from Granit Xhaka who understandably lost his cool. A missed Mo penalty lead to a late second half equaliser from Liverpools Firmino following Arteta’s decision to see the game out with defensive changes. The last 10 minutes of the game saw both sides throwing everything at each other but it ends with both sides sharing the spoils.

Arsenal restart their premier league campaign in winning fashion after a comfortable victory at the Emirates stadium to regain their 8 point cushion at the top of the league. Despite a slow opening 30 minutes where Arsenal looked slow and sluggish, it took a little bit of luck from a Jesus penalty which unlocked Arsenals usual tempo and speed. A quick second half saw Arsenal blow Leeds away to see the second half out and move forward to Anfield.

The Arsenal Therapy Podcast - Arsenal 4-1 Crystal Palace (EP.140)

Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about the club we love, Arsenal Football Club.

Arsenal blow away Palace at the Emirates stadium and remind all fans why they’re at the top of the league. Many looked forward to the kind of response fans would get following a disappointing defeat in the Europa League to Sporting. But from the very first minute they played with pace, intensity, desire, hunger and concentration which was reflected in the way they were moving the ball and toying with Palace on the edge of their box. All 4 goals were wonderfully worked and a reflection of the brilliant football they’ve been playing all season. Ben White in particular was fantastic on the right hand side and used his overlapping runs to put dangerous balls into the box as well as slot Saka in on goal. An honourable mention for Rob Holding as he filled in for injured William Saliba. He contributed in the buildup of Arsenals attacking football and did his defensive duties as Arsenal only concede from a scrappy corner. As we head into the international break Arsenal find themselves 8 points clear at the top

Arsenal produce a magnificent first half performance to score all 3 goals which sealed the 3 points and put the Gunners back with the 5 point lead which was reduced last night following City’s win over Palace. The Gunners were given s as further boost with the return of Jesus who came on for 15 minutes and had even had a shot on goal. But it was a Man of the Match performance by Trossard who got 3 first half assists to give Arsenal a dominant lead and a comfortable second half to seal the victory.

Arsenal held at Lisbon as the first leg of the Europa league round of 16 draws to a close. A game Sporting managed really well after taking advantage of Turners poor goalkeeping to get back into the game following a well worked Arsenal corner which saw Saliba head in. However, it was a great bit of Sporting play on the edge of the Arsenal box with Edwards being the creative link in the final third to help Paulinho tap in to put Sporting ahead. Arsenal had to rely on a little bit of luck with Xhaka’s deflected shot which found the back of the net. A performance Arsenal will want to put behind them as they head back to the Emirates with a need to win.

Arsenal win through a last second winner from Reiss Nelson who came off the bench to inject some well needed energy on the left hand side. It was a poor start to the game after Billings converted inside 9 seconds of the start and it continued to go downhill for the Gunners who conceded a second goal early on in the second half. However, Parteys quick goal injected some belief into the squad which output Bournemouth on the defensive. But it was super sub Reiss Nelson who set up the second goal and scored the winner to put Arsenal 5 points clear.

Arsenal grab 3 points at the king power stadium to further extend their lead at the top by 5 points with city to play in the afternoon. A game which started with Arsenal dominance, fluid football, effective attacking play between a trio of Martinelli, Saka and trossard. The front three seemed to add more directness that opened up Leicesters defence but continued to miss the final bit of quality in the box. However, it was an early second half Martinelli goal that sealed the victory after Arsenal struggled to get back into their first half rhythm. Leicester pressed high and pushed Arsenal to their limits as they lacked the quality to take advantage of the numerous goal scoring opportunities. It’s another 3 points for the Gunners who look to start a long run of winning games.

A thriller at Villa saw the Gunners take all three points in a dramatic end to a dramatic game with two stoppage time goals, including an own goal from former Arsenal goalkeeper Emi Martinez. We came from behind twice before storming to victory, with Oleksandr Zinchenko scored his first goal for The Arsenal to bring us level at 2 – 2 with an absolute stunner from outside the box. There were two changes from the team that lost to Manchester City on Wednesday; Ben White returned to the starting XI and Trossard displaced Martinelli in his first Premier League start for Arsenal. Jorginho retained his place as Thomas Partey has a muscle injury and Emile Smith Rowe had a place on the bench as he returns from injury.

City push Arsenal out of the top spot from goal difference. A brilliant first half display from the Gunners was marred by a scrappy second half where both teams resorted to physical duals in which City ended up on top. The result doesn’t tell the full story of the game though as Arsenal had a number of guilt edge opportunities to put the ball in the back of the net but a lack of finishers up top meant City only needed to get the ball into the box on a smaller number of occasions. Arsenal still find themselves with a game in hand and could head back to the top of the table.

Brentford frustrate Arsenal as they fail to secure 3 points. A cagey game at the Emirates with Brentford setting up brilliantly over both halves. Arsenal continued to flourish in large parts of the game but the final bit of movement on the edge of the box was missing which resulted in a number of deep crosses in the Brentford box. Eventually one of the crosses resulted in a Trossard goal but it as the persistence of Toney which got Brentford a deserved point.

In Arsenal news, we discuss the repercussions of the Everton defeat, what it means going into the Brentford game and what the main issues were that cost us the 3 points. We give our thoughts on Folarin Balogun and whether we should keep or sell him in the summer. Andrew gives his thoughts on the Zinchenko vs Tierney that Arteta faces. We touch on the potential £120m fee for Declan Rice. Finally, we end the show by looking ahead to the Man City game and the main differences between Pep and Mikel.

Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about the club we love, Arsenal Football Club.

Arsenal suffer their second defeat of the season against an Everton side who played its first game under Sean Dyche. The new manager bounce came to light as Dyches two former Burnley players McNeil and Tarkowski were the result of a well worked corner which saw them secure the 3 points in front of a raucous Everton crowd. Despite the brilliant Dyche setup and overall desire to win the game, Arsenal had their handful of opportunities and periods of the game where they maybe could have been better. The response to last weekends FA Cup defeat to Manchester City wasn’t the one Arteta would have hoped for but they still find themselves 5 points clear and another opportunity to get back on track when they welcome Brentford at the Emirates.

Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about the club we love, Arsenal Football Club.

Arsenal produce a sterling second half performance to take all 3 points from one of the games of the season. Manchester United arrived in North London with a point to prove having already dropped 2 points at Palace. However, Arsenal also had a point to prove having suffered their only defeat to United earlier on in the season. Both teams started really quick with a Rashford opener that shook up the Emirates. But it was a resilient and quality filled Arsenal that saw the Gunners dominate large parts of the game to produce a last minute winner. Some outstanding performances across the pitch but special mention has to go out for Ødegaard, Saka and Nketiah who were the difference makers.

North London remains red and Arsenal pick up all 3 points at Tottenham for the first time since 2014. An impressive first half performance saw the Gunners score two early goals to secure the victory with Spurs throwing everything in the second half but not managing to find a way past man of the match, Aaron Ramsdale who made some brilliant saves to keep a clean sheet. Despite missing out on their number 1 transfer target, they showed once again why they are a force to be reckoned with.

Arsenal beat Oxford in the second half to set up a mouthwatering 4th round tie against fellow title contenders Manchester City. The first half performance wouldn’t have given most Gooners confidence though as Arsenal struggled to get into the flow of things and produced nothing more than a lacklustre performance with Oxford playing with heart and desire to close off all attacking channels to the Gunners. A lack of creativity in midfield didn’t help either with Xhaka and Zinchenko coming on to help Arsenal take the lead and be involved in the two goals that followed.

Arsenal draw their second game of the season, this time in different circumstances. In many ways this draw will feel like a defeat with the gunners dominating both half’s of the game. They played brilliantly in all areas across the pitch and made Newcastle look very average compared to the threat they’ve looked this season. Despite dropping 2 points, Mikel will take much confidence going forward as they display yet again, another brilliant performance.

A controlled and dominant performance that saw Arsenal start the second part of the season in style. The first half included everything other than the goal. A mistake from Saliba cost Arsenal a penalty which was comfortably converted by Benrahma. The gunners came out with a different kind of aggression and bite that saw them produce 3 very well worked goals. After 14 games, Arsenal go 5 points clear at the top of the Premier League. They will be top of the league for Christmas with one game in hand which happens to be against Manchester City. No one would have seen a start this powerful and convincing. Despite the game not being played at the right tempo or speed that we’re used to seeing Arsenal play at, we created enough chances over the two halves to score two very vital goals. The feel good factor continues to spread and the title fever spreads across north London.

Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about the club we love, Arsenal Football Club.

Arsenal suffer their 3rd defeat of the season and find themselves knocked out of the Carabao cup following a disappointing result to Brighton. The game exposed much to address over the World Cup and in the January window as the lack of adequate cover in midfield saw us lose momentum in key moments of the game following large spells of dominance. However, despite the defeat, there were some standout performances from Saliba and Nelson who played with explosive intensity which we’d missing from others.

Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about the club we love, Arsenal Football Club.

Arsenal secure a big victory at Stamford Bridge after collecting 3 vital points to move back to 1st in the league. The game was dominated by the 11 red and white men from the first minute who produced a spectacular performance in all areas of the pitch. Chelsea were clearly second best and played a lethargic style of football that was reminiscent of Arsenal under Unai Emery. Arsenals centre back partnership is working a treat after yet again another clean sheet. Onwards and upwards! One more Premier League game to go before the world cup break.

Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about the club we love, Arsenal Football Club.

Arsenals response to their second defeat this season is a 5-0 thumping against Nottingham Forest who were miles behind the Gunners throughout the 90 minutes of the game. It was a quick start following a Martinelli goal in the opening 5 minutes. However, after Saka was forced off the pitch following an ankle injury, his substitute stole the show with 2 goals that effectively ended the competitive edge to the game, if there was ever any in the first place. A consistently high quality of football saw the gunners keep a clean sheet and score a couple more goals to go back to the top of the premier league.

Arsenal suffer their first defeat in the Europa League at the hands of group rivals PSV Eindhoven who appeared reenergised from the defeat at the Emirates last week. They came out in the second half with two well earned goals after having two in the first half disallowed, which gives Arteta the task of finishing off the job of securing a first place finish at the Emirates next Thursday in their final Europa League game against FC Zurich. They will need to perform miles better than they did in Eindhoven if they are to secure the top spot as they were off the pace from the very first minute of the game. PSV showed more desire, passion and fight which ultimately earned the victory, whilst Arsenal played in second gear and failed to capitalise on a number of big opportunities in front of goal

Points dropped by Arsenal as they fail to secure a victory following a brilliant first half performance. Southampton came back into the second half with a performance that aimed to disrupt Arsenal from playing their slick and fluid football. Arsenal failed to utilise the ball when in possession and didn’t deserve anything at the end of the game as they clearly looked exhausted by the end of the game. Not a pretty reflection of what Arsenal are capable of. But despite the substandard performance, they maintain their position as league leaders

Full time at the Emirates with Arsenal winning a deserved 1-0 in a fixture that saw them dominate both halves but didn’t do enough to score anymore than just one goal. There were some overworked players left out on the pitch like Jesus, Saka and Xhaka who managed to get on the scoresheet in the second half following a brilliant ball from Tomiyasu. Despite the victory, Arsenal will need to improve drastically in the final third if they want to continue their winning run in the Premier League against Southampton on the weekend. But as off now, Arsenal can enjoy a faultless Europa League campaign with the chances of finishing top of the league looking very likely.

Arsenal hold on to seal a very difficult afternoon at Ellend Road following a delayed start due to a power cut. Arteta would have expected a tough game with Leeds who showed hunger and desire throughout the 90 minutes but a bit of Bukayo Saka brilliance sealed the victory. Arsenal were lucky to stay in the game following a missed Bamford penalty and a reversed penalty and red card decision in the dying minutes of the game. Not a pretty victory but a victory nonetheless. It could be a crucial 3 points come the end of the season.

Arsenal are sent back to the top of the league after producing an absolutely stunning performance in the second half to blow Liverpool out of the game. Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about the club we love, Arsenal Football Club.

Arsenal continue their winning start to the Europa League campaign with yet another convincing victory at the Emirates, this time with a 3-0 win against FK Bodø/Glimt. A dominant first half which saw Arsenal seal the victory with Nketiah and Holding finding the back of the net followed a stale second half which was brought back to life in the final 5 minutes of the game with a wonderfully worked Vieira goal, courtesy of Jesus’s best footwork. Credit to FK Bodø/Glimt though who worked hard till the very last minute of the game and were stubborn to play their football despite not finding a way through Arsenals organised defence. They had the better of the second half but ultimately it was the quality in the final third that was lacking. Arsenal march on to Sunday where a game against Liverpool awaits.

The Arsenal Therapy Podcast - Arsenal 3-1 Tottenham (EP.110)

Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about the club we love, Arsenal Football Club.

North London is red after a traditional Arsenal performance at the Emirates to blow away a Tottenham side who didn’t turn up to win. Arsenal were clearly the better side from minute one and we could’ve opened the score line in the opening 10 minutes. Tottenham knew early on that they needed to buy their time and be patient which is what helped Arsenal score their first with an unexpected Thomas Partey strike from about 25 yards. Tottenham were back in the game after a penalty which was converted by Harry Kane. But the second half performance from Arsenal indicated that they would go on and win which was made easier after a stupid foul on Martinelli by Emerson. Arsenal stretch their lead at the top of the Premier League table with a tricky fixture against Liverpool which will give an indication as to weather Arsenal will challenge for the title this season.

Arsenal start their Europa league campaign off with a winning start following a win at Kynunparp to beat FC Zurich 2-1. A game that saw teenager Marquinhos score a goal and grab an assist on his debut. An overall solid performance but one that wasn’t reflected on the scoreline. Despite performing well in most areas of Zurich’s half, they were sloppy out of possession and conceded a penalty. But Zurich did have their fair share of opportunities and could have taken something from the game had it not been for their lack of quality in the final third. Having said that, the first game is usually the hardest in a European competition and Arsenal will be glad to have taken all 3 points.

Arsenal get the 3 points after a tense 90 mins where they dominated the first half and got everything right other than the goal. Fulham were nowhere near as involved in the game as Arsenal were with pressure building as the second half progressed. A lapse in concentration gave Fulham the lead and Arsenal looked to be on a downwards slope as Fulham looked to take advantage of their lucky goal. But if there’s one thing the Arsenal boys took from last season, is how to react in difficult situations and they did that by scoring the equaliser quite soon after conceding and then wrapping up the 3 points with who else but Gabriel scoring the winning goal.

Arsenal continue on from their winning start with maximum points, winning their first 3 games of the season which they haven’t done in 18 years. The gunners opened the score line with an early goal from Ødegaard who doubled his lead inside 10 minutes. The first half performance was well controlled by Arteta’s men and Bournemouth did very little to trouble the backline or Ramsdale who ended up keeping a clean sheet. Arsenal carried their first half dominance into the second with more attacking flair. An impressive William Saliba goal and an offside Jesus goal completed Arsenals dominant performance to take them top of the league.

Arsenal continue their winning start with a convincing victory against Leicester at the Emirates. A wonderful first half display was capped off with two Gabriel Jesus goals and plenty of action as Arsenal hit the post and create plenty of goal scoring opportunities down the left hand flank. Second half was slower and proved to be consequential as Saliba heads into the back of his own net. But Arsenal stay resilient and clearly have too have quality on the pitch as they solidify the result with two more goals. A very comfortable victory with some special individual performances from the likes of Jesus, Martinelli, Xhaka, Zinchenko, Saliba, Gabriel…well basically every player.

Arsenal start the Premier League 2022/23 campaign with 3 points and a clean sheet after an ugly performance but a professional one nonetheless which sees us defeat Palace at Selhurst Park. The first 15 minutes of the first half showed us glimpses of what’s to come as we dominated possession, moved the ball swiftly and confidently across the lines and were rewarded for their relentless attacking football. The rest of the game was about managing Palace’s growing confidence as they utilised the long balls down the flanks as Anderson kept finding Zaha, but he couldn’t find any luck as Ben White handled the pressure. It was however, Saliba who produced a sterling performance to keep the backline firmly structured and locked in place as the Gunners brought on Tierney and Nketiah late on who helped seal the victory. A brilliant start to the season!

The Arsenal Therapy Podcast - The Unofficial Signing of Fabio Vieria! (EP.94)

Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about the club we love, Arsenal Football Club.

Another crazy week of football transfer movement and news as Arsenal respond to the Arsenal meltdown earlier on in the week with potentially three super signings. This week we discuss the unofficial signing of Fabio Vieria from Porto who will sign on a long term deal. We respond to the reports that the signing may see off the chances of Arsenal signing Tielamans and it’s consequences on adding depth in midfield. We give our reaction to the announcement of Eddie Nketiah’s new contract and what it means for him and Arsenal next season. We also discuss the ongoing Gabriel Jesus transfer saga and whether this signing will actually happen or if Arsenal are forced to choose between Jesus and Raphinha.

Arsenal complete the 2021/22 season in 5th place with 69 points, an improvement by 8 points. This was a dominant display that saw Arteta’s men put 4 well worked goals and a penalty that once again showed why this project is still a working progress. Next season will see the Gunners compete in the Europa League, where most will argue they deserve to be.

Arsenal suffer yet another humiliating defeat, this time at the hands of Newcastle who played Arsenal out of the park from the very first minute. The gunners have now lost 13 games this season and give Spurs the advantage of finishing 4th with only Norwich standing in their way. This game is maybe a reality check of where Arsenal are and a great example for why they are not yet ready for champions league football. The full time whistle saw scenes of the Arsenal players deflated. How deflated? Only time will tell.

Arsenal suffer a humiliating defeat to the hands of Tottenham who deserved the victory. They produced a calm and composed performance that blew an underwhelming Arsenal side out of sight in the first half and early in the second half. A lot was said about Paul Tierney and his decision to gift Spurs with a soft penalty but the performance simply wasn’t good enough.

Arsenal produce a brilliant victory over Manchester United who look absolutely finished and will need a massive rebuild to compete with a top 6 side in the Premier League. Arsenal respond to their 3 game losing streak with an emphatic victory at Stamford bridge. Arsenal suffer yet another defeat making it 3 in a row with Chelsea on the horizon. A controlled yet lacklustre first half performance saw Southampton take advantage of a corner. Arsenal lacked the cutting edge in the final third as Southampton sat off and invited the pressure. But a lack of end product and overall creative quality in midfield cost Arsenal the defeat.

Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about the club we love, Arsenal Football Club.

Arsenal suffer a second defeat. That’s 3 losses in the last 4. Arteta was forced to make some changes following a fresh injury blow to Partey. The response to the midweek defeat to Crystal Palace wasn’t the one fans expected following a poor opening 20 minute spell which eventually saw us concede. The football didn’t flow right and Arsenal were sloppy and flat when in possession. The second goal was the final nail in the coffin as Brighton played the majority of the second half in a composed defensive shape. Odegaard’s late wonder strike did inject some hope into the players as they left it too late.

Arsenal concede 3 against Palace as they lose the chance to get back into the top 4. This is a performance to forget where none of the players really clicked. A game full of errors at the back, misplaced passes and no real intensity in the first half. Palace deserved the victory as they started the game off on the front foot. The midfield battle was won early on with Gallagher and Kouyate pressing the Arsenal defence into submission.

Arsenal bounce back to winning ways as they secure an away victory and a clean sheet. A brilliant first half performance saw Saka neatly slot home the only goal of the game. Once again the gunners performance reflected a mature Arsenal side who knew how to organise themselves during tough moments of the second half. However, the game could’ve ended in the first half had Arsenal taken their chances.

What started as a brilliant first half performance ended up being a sour defeat to a Liverpool side who weren’t brilliant but we’re clinical enough to beat a remarkably resilient young Arsenal squad. Despite the defeat, the team showed a level of maturity and quality that isn’t very familiar in many other premier league sides. Had it not been for Ramsdales mistake and our reluctance to clear the ball for the second goal, we might be talking about a completely different result.

Yet again, another dominant performance. Another clean sheet. Another display of incredible attacking football. And yet again, more importantly, another 3 points to push Arsenal on for a top 4 finish. A great start for the gunners as Partey heads in on the near post. Leicester end the well stronger with a few dangerous opportunities but Arsena wrap up the game early in the second half with a Lacazette penalty. Arsenal close the game off with a mature and composed performance with the players staying well structured and disciplined at the back whilst driving forward as a unit to create some brilliant goal scoring chances. A routine Arsenal victory in a dominant performance with a hat full of wonderful goals. Arsenal are beginning to get into a winning routine with their 4th win in a row. Some of the attacking football was outstanding at times as the game was essentially won with the high quality of attacking football. Particularly from certain individuals like Ødegaard, Saka, Cedric, Partey and Xhaka who were all integral in our attacking build up. However, Watford were defiant and caused the Arsenal defence many problems throughout the 90 minutes. Despite a late goal to get back into the game Watford were beaten.

Another 3 points for Arsenal as they seal the victory in the last minute of the game. A frustrating game as Arsenal concede in the first 10 minutes with Hee-Chan opening the scoreline for Wolves. But Arsenal remained resilient and created a number of opportunities to level the scoreline in the first and second half. It wasn't until Arteta brought on Pepe and Nketiah where Arsenal were able to score the two decisive goals that earned them 3 points, a single point away from Man United and 2 games in hand.

Three points won by Arsenal who were excellent across every section of the pitch. Plenty of positive football and attractive attacking play. Silky swift passing. Intelligent movement in the opposition half. Arsenal created so many opportunities to increase the lead. Saka and Smith-Rowe running the show. If we had a more effective number 9 we could have won comfortably very early on. But all in all, a fully deserved victory.

Arsenal finally win a game in 2022 with a nervy victory against Wolves with plenty of action including yet another sending off. Wolves started the game brightly with plenty of possession and attacking football going down the flanks with Trincao and Podence. Arsenal slowly got back into the game with a goal from Gabriel but relapsed into a defensive shape and let Wolves press deep into their half. The second half started well but Martinelli's unique two yellow cards set up a really nervous end to the game where Arsenal managed hang on to take 3 big points.

Arsenal knocked out of the League Cup following a disappointing defeat at the Emirates at the hands of Klopp’s Liverpool. A defensive masterclass from 10 man Arsenal who had to dig in deep to take a goalless draw back to the Emirates Stadium next Thursday for the second leg of the Carabao Cup. Liverpool played the game with a strong starting lineup and displayed a range of attacking football and it looked like they would score early on but a trademark Granit Xhaka red card saw the complexion of the game change. Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about the club we love, Arsenal Football Club.

An abysmal performance sees Arsenal exit the FA Cup in the 3rd round for the first time in 25 years to the same opposition who knocked us out in 1996. Nottingham Forest deserved the victory and were the better team on the night. Arsenal on the other hand were a shadow of their usual selves. The team who are associated with free-flowing beautiful attacking football were static, unable to get the ball past the halfway line and missing in midfield. The creative outlet in the middle of the pitch was certainly a factor in the abject performance and Arsenal will need to act fast if they are to address the problem before the 1st leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final tie at Anfield.

A brilliant performance capped with 5 goals to strengthen our position at 4th place. Despite playing the game without a natural right back, there didn't seem to be any vulnerabilities. Benjamin White did an adequate job to fill in for Tomiyasu, whilst also supporting the midfield. The Arsenal attacking line ran rampant, with a host of opportunities on goal as we secured the game in the first half. Special mentions to some key performers on the afternoon including Granit Xhaka, Martin Odegaard, Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka who were all outstanding throughout the game. Yet again, Arteta's vision for how football should be played was clearly displayed throughout the full 90 minutes.

Arsenal progress into the semi-finals of the Carabao cup by thumping Sunderland 5-1 in another exquisite performance. Sunderland turned up to give Arsenal a game and despite the scoreline, they played with an aggressive high line and pressured the Arsenal back four. Arsenal get back to winning ways with an impressive 3-0 victory against Southampton as they try to build back some confidence following the defeats to Everton and Manchester Utd. The lineup was the same as Monday nights which was cause for concern following the lacklustre performance. However, the team dominated the first half and demonstrated Arteta’s brand of football and how the team are likely to develop in the future. An Arsenal defeat that has turned fans against Arteta as the pressure is piled on the Arsenal manager. The majority of the game being played at one tempo where players refuse to show any passion and determination. The starting lineup seemed strong but the game lacked killer instinct and saw the majority of players taking the role of the passenger rather than leading the charge. What should have been a routine victory against a United side lacking in confidence and form turned out to be the game they needed to regain some control of the season. After a run of 10 games without losing a game, Arsenal suffer one of their biggest defeats of the season. This game was one, most fans were looking forward to for a number of reasons. One of them being to assess how far Arteta's Arsenal have come. This is a disappointing defeat to take because that question still remains unanswered. After a brilliant competitive first half where Arsenal defended brilliantly whilst hit Liverpool on the counterattack which caused a few issues for Liverpools defence, it all fell apart in the second half. Certainly, there were aspects of the game where fans can clearly identify our improvements. However, ultimately there is still a long way to go yet.

Arsenal stretch their unbeaten run to 10 games as Arteta completes his 100th game. The win puts Arsenal in 5th place with 2 points separating them and Liverpool as we approach the international break. Arsenal produce another great performance with a scoreline that didn’t really reflect the great football being played for the most part. A first half filled with goal scoring opportunities with a range of dodgy officiating. Followed by a similar second half but a nervy final 15 minutes.

Arsenal stretch their unbeaten run to 9 games creating more confidence and momentum as they climb up the Premier League table. Many were anxious to watch todays game for a number of reasons. One of them being because we were up against a side who had supposedly replaced our position in the top 6 debate. However, a dominant first half display gave Arsenal the start needed to win all three points. Once again, the team performed as a unit but a special mention needs to be given to Aaron Ramsdale who was impeccable and probably gave the best performance of his career so far.

The Arsenal Therapy Podcast - Arsenal 3-1 Aston Villa (EP.60)

Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about the club we love, Arsenal Football Club.

Despite the dreadful performance on Monday night, Arsenal redeem their pride after a dominant display against an underwhelming Aston Villa. This was one of Arsenals strongest performances this season with 90 minutes of dominant, attacking football whilst defending as a unit. The manager made three changes with Lacazette, Lokonga and Tavares coming in for Pepe, Odegaard and Tierney which worked to their advantage as all three changes were central to the counterattacking offensive football that was too much for Villa to handle. A very good three points won on a Friday night that sees up move up to the top half of the table. Is it time we start to trust the process?

Arsenal were staring down the barrel of yet another defeat after a very stale performance. Thankfully Lacazette was in the right place at the right time to help salvage a point that will inevitably gloss over the abject performance. What started as an encouraging opening 20 minutes of high-pressing attacking football ended up being a naive and overcomplicated game of football. Arsenal chose to ignore the fundamentals of the game, whilst Palace executed them and deserved all 3 points.

Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about the club we love, Arsenal Football Club.

Arsenal survive a nervy game of football at the Amex Stadium against Brighton as they stretch their unbeaten run to 4 games. As Mikel Arteta said, we just about deserved the single point as we were dominated by Brighton for the majority of the game. There were a few opportunities where we could have scored and secured the 3 points. Having said that, the levels of intensity and sharpness were very different in comparison to the North London Derby performance. The weather may have had an impact on the performance, but whilst Arsenal were fumbling around the pitch, Brighton were excellent and were producing beautiful passing performances and silky attacking football. They will really feel hard done by as they lost 2 points.

Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about the club we love, Arsenal Football Club.

Arsenal produce a perfect performance to wipe aside a poor Tottenham side who weren't at the races. Arsenal started the game on the front foot with high pressing and a positive attitude to win the ball quick whilst passing the ball with purpose. Within the first 45 minutes, Arsenal created 3 brilliant goals whilst showcasing the intelligent counter-attacking football. Every player put in a purposeful performance that saw the team play as a unit, which makes it difficult to point at one or two individuals who stole the show. Having said that, the defensive performance stood out as Tomiyasu, White, Gabriel and Tierney silenced Tottenhams attacking threat by holding an organised defensive line in place and shutting down any threat early on.

The Arsenal Therapy Podcast - Burnley 0-1 Arsenal (EP.55)

Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about the club we love, Arsenal Football Club.

Arsenal successfully managed to salvage the 3 points from Turf Moor after a resolute performance. Burnley made it incredibly difficult during the course of the 90 minutes with plenty of long balls into the box, plenty of physical battles in the middle of the pitch and plenty of set pieces to question Arsenal’s defensive capabilities. All of which were answered through some excellent defensive performances from Ramsdale, Tomiyasu, White and Tierney who all seem to be gelling quite quickly at the back. Unfortunately, the same can’t be said for the offensive side of our performance, but this wasn’t the game to analyse or scrutinise offensive football. Whilst we were pretty poor in possession, we managed to score a goal and defend well enough to earn a clean sheet and take all 3 points back.

Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about the club we love, Arsenal Football Club.

Arsenal finally register a goal and 3 points which pushes them out of the relegation zone and halts the never-ending relegation jokes, for now. What was a positive performance and a great team effort failed to reflect on the scoreline as Arsenal created thirty goalscoring opportunities but only managed seven on target, putting one in the back of the net. The game marked the start of a new era with a young squad on show; reflecting the work of Arteta and Edu in the transfer market. The first impressions reflect a hungry bunch of youngsters who are ready to prove that they have what it takes to carry the weight of the badge. This week we were joined by Simon Collings from the Evening Standard as we discussed the victory over Norwich and what it means as we move on to Burnley.

The Arsenal Therapy Podcast - Man City 5-0 Arsenal (EP.52)

Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about the club we love, Arsenal Football Club.

Arsenal are humiliated by Man City in a gruelling 5-0 defeat at The Etihad. Arsenal fans were reduced to sarcastic cheers and applauds as they witnessed a lazy, uninspired and quite frankly a spineless performance despite starting the first 5 minutes on the front foot. Questions will now be asked of the manager and whether he is capable of turning this ship around as Arsenal complete the first 3 games of the Premier League season without registering a single goal let alone a win. This defeat highlighted all the issues at the club. From the lack of quality in defence to the lack of leadership by the captain, there will need to be some drastic changes in the coming weeks for Arsenal to have any chance of turning things around.

An awful performance that summarises Arsenals season so far. Within the first 5 minutes we concede a goal that could have so easily been avoided. Arteta chose to play Xhaka at Left Back which cost us the first goal. Despite expecting Arsenal to step it up a notch they continued to frost away from the game and allow Villarreal to control the tempo of the game. It only took them another 20 minutes before scoring the second goal. Arsenal seemed dead and buried until the second half where we switched it up a gear to control more possession in the final third and create some goal scoring opportunities. However, the endless crosses in the box didn’t come to fruition as Villarreal continued to test Leno in goal. It took Arteta a sending off before he decided to make a change and bring Martinelli on. His role as a number 9 didn’t really change anything as we continued to play the ball down the flanks which did help us to win a penalty and gain a crucial away goal. This game will be remembered for Arteta’s misjudged system, starting XI and late substitutions. If we lose next Thursday, the fanbase will turn.

Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about a club I love, Arsenal Football Club.

What started off as a promising game with lots of talent on the pitch with Saka and Emile Smith-Rowe coming back in the lineup, the last minute brought Arsenal back to reality. The game was dominated by Arsenal with so many opportunities being created on the first half down the right hand side with Saka being put through on goal a few times whilst also generating some good crosses in the box, albeit the wrong types of crosses. The second half saw us carry on where we left off from despite Praha start to play a higher line and press with more men. Lacazette had two guilt edge opportunities with a one-on-one and what could be described as a tap in that went over. Whilst Arsenal were strong and dominant in Slavia Praha's half, they also posed a danger when Arsenal lost possession in midfield. We could easily have conceded goals in the first and second half, however had Arsenal taken the opportunities they created early on it could have been a different story. Ultimately, the subs made the difference with Aubameyang coming on to put Pepe through on goal who scored the crucial goal. Martinelli came on to change the pace of the game but he is clearly not the finished product and needs time to adapt and develop himself before being given regular football. As Arsenal enter the later stages of the game, we fail to react positively, crumble under pressure and concede from a set piece. It's all to play for in Prague.

The Arsenal Therapy Podcast - West Ham 3-3 Arsenal (023)

Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about a club I love, Arsenal Football Club.

After a horrible first 30 minutes where Arsenal concede 3 goals, they suddenly come to life to steal a thoroughly well deserved point. West Ham started the game really well with an early first half goal from Lingard. Arsenal aren't able to compose themselves quick enough as they concede a second goal from a free kick quickly taken by Lingard who slots it into the feet of Bowen who then beats Leno on his near post. The third goal is scored on the half hour mark as Arsenal look well beaten. However, with a goal scored on the end of the pitch before the half-time whistle there seems to be a glimmer of hope. The gunners start the second half as they left off at the end of the first half and put West Ham under pressure. Silky work on the ball from Odegaard and a strong work ethic from Lacazette helps them get a second goal. The final 30 minutes sees West Ham grow back into the game as a tired Arsenal side sit back, which almost cost them a goal as Antonio hits the bar. Following the introduction of Martinelli and Pepe, Arsenal push to score the third goal. Overall, it's a well deserved point from a team that showed desire and character to come back from 3-0 down, but why do Arsenal make it difficult for themselves?

The Arsenal Therapy Podcast - Arsenal 0-1 Olympiacos (022)

Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about a club I love, Arsenal Football Club.

Looking ahead to this game, we all expected Arsenal to face a hungry Olympiacos side who were likely to cause many problems. However, the first half didn't meet those expectations as Arsenal managed the game perfectly with opportunities to seal the tie in the opening 45 minutes. Arteta's men played with a positive energy, great enthusiasm and worked hard to keep the ball throughout the first half. However, the second half was a completely different story as Olympiacos came out of 2nd gear and started to put Arsenal's backline under pressure. For whatever reason, Arsenal struggled to win dominance early on in the second half and following a sloppy mistake in the middle of the pitch, they conceded an early goal. Olympiacos were very much the dominant side in the second half and got themselves in good areas but were unable to capitalise. Arsenal's game management wasn't working and needed Baa to be sent off before taking control of the game. Had it not been for the red card Olympiacos may have scored another goal to make it a very nervy ending to the game.

The Arsenal Therapy Podcast - Arsenal 2-1 Tottenham (021)

Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about a club I love, Arsenal Football Club.

Arsenal school Tottenham in the most spectacular fashion. Going into this game, most fans were cautious with how Arteta was going to set Arsenal up against a confident Tottenham side. However, the first 10 minutes showed that we were going to approach this game cautiously whilst dominating it at the same time. Tottenham sat back and allowed Arsenal to play the ball around with comfort and confidence. We cam close to scoring too, with Smith-Rowe's effort that hit the bar, then later Cedric's blistering shot that hit the post. However, following the substitution of Son for Lamela, Arsenal slowed down the pace and allowed them to get back into the game which led to the goal. Arsenal soon woke up and continued to dominate the game which led to a great goal from Odegaard which started from the right hand side. A common theme of our game was the amount of crosses that were coming into the box which although lacked any effectiveness, a low driven cross soon came to fruition. The second half was with Arsenal controlling the game and keeping the ball in their half. Tottenham seemingly trying to grow back into the game with more pressure off the ball but Arsenal were far too comfortable with their passing rhythm and intense pressure off the ball which led to the penalty and the second goal. All in all Arsenal deserved the 3 points against a very poor Tottenham side who once again proved are nothing without Son and Kane on top form.

The Arsenal Therapy Podcast - Olympiacos 1-3 Arsenal (020)

The Arsenal Therapy Podcast - Olympiacos 1-3 Arsenal (020)

Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about a club I love, Arsenal Football Club.

Looking ahead into a jam packed week of football, this was a crucial game for Arsenal to win by scoring more than 1 away goal to assure a strong starting lineup for the North London Derby. The starting lineup was relatively strong with Saka, Odegaard and Partey leading the lineup, however it was surprising to see Willian start ahead of Pepe. The game it self was very much a game of two halves with Arsenal starting the first half very strong and dominant with a world class strike from Odegaard. However, following the first goal, Arsenal sat back and allowed Olympiacos to grow into the game and eventually in the second half equalised through yet again, ANOTHER error at the back. This time Leno is to blame for coming out of his area and putting Ceballos under pressure. Following from the error Arsenal found it very difficult to regroup with Olympiacos putting us under pressure and having the ball around the final third of our half. However, a brilliant leap from Gabriel saw him score a wonderful header that changed the tie and soon followed a world class strike from Elneny who apparently is only capable of scoring 30 yard shots. Arsenal will be very happy with the overall result, however with the North London Derby only days away, can this team stop gifting their opposition with goals created from errors.
