Character Talks - Ep. 8 - OPEN with Andrew Kivett
What does it take to Walk Across America? What does it take to grab your longboard and push yourself across your entire home state? It takes the same thing in both instances...a first step!
In this exciting episode of Character Talks, Chris chats with Andrew Kivett who walked pushed his longboard across his state and then, along with some motivation from Mike Posner, walked across the United States. During our chat, Andrew mentioned many times that the most important step, and often the most difficult, was the first step. That is something we can all relate to!
Now, he is using that commitment along with his personal mantra of "Keep Going" to pursue other passions and interests in his life. Andrew, while dedicated to being outside and challenging himself, is very relatable. His words, thoughts, and ideas will resonate with every person who listens to the podcast!
I hope you enjoy this episode and find yourself being OPEN to more ideas and opportunities like Andrew!

Character Talks - Ep.7 - Anders Boyd - INQUISITIVE
One of the best parts of doing a podcast and being involved with social media with our new platform, The Mill, is you get to meet incredible people! There is not a day that goes by that I don't meet someone that impresses me with their character.
That is absolutely the case with Anders Boyd when I met him over a year ago. I instantly gravitated to his send of loyalty to his son, his passion for making a difference in this world, and his entreprenuerial spirit.
Take all of those traits and add it to someone who is a Wilderness Firefighter and so much more and you have all of the ingredients needed for an amazing human being!
During this episode, we chatted about his early days and discovering his need to ask questions and ended with how life is a series of seasons and the current season he is enjoying. throughout the episode, I found myself writing notes about his thoughts as they truly made me think about my own life.
I hope you enjoy this episode and do the same thing as we discover what INQUISITIVE means to Anders.

Character Talks - Ep. 6 - RESTLESS - Isaiah Glen Shields
In this episode, we'll delve into the intricacies of Isaiah's Transamerica odyssey. We'll explore his challenges, the breathtaking sights he's encountered, and the remarkable people who've touched his life. From the western shores of Washington state to the chilly Atlantic waters of the coast of Maine, Isaiah's story unfolds like a tapestry woven with moments of vulnerability, triumph, and profound revelations.
You'll hear about the chance encounters with fellow travelers that have left an indelible mark on his journey, the kindness of strangers who've opened their homes and hearts, and the moments of solitude that have allowed him to connect with his innermost thoughts.
But perhaps most intriguingly, we'll explore the overarching question that propels Isaiah forward: What is he meant to do with this life-changing experience? Is a grand revelation awaiting him at the end of his European trek, or is the journey itself the destination?
After listening to this podcast (which you may want to do a couple of times) we hope you will understand why RESTLESS was the word for Isaiah. While restless was the word, his demeanor was anything but as there was a true sense of balance, confidence, and calm to him.

Character Talks - Ep. 4 - Drae Solberg - COMPASSION
There are people you meet in your life that you instantly know, when you meet them, they are special! Drae Solberg is one of those people!
The first two words I used when I met Drae were GENUINE and AUTHENTIC. What you see is what you get but when you start getting to know them, there is so much more. Their word, COMPASSION, is the perfect word!
Drae is the Founder and Owner of All Companion Pet Care. While taking care of animals is a big part of the daily routine, it is the work connecting and healing the relationships between the animals and humans that is massively important. Drae brings an understanding of the importance of that connection and all of its' benefits and combines compassion to deliver an experience that changes lives...both human and non-human.
That catalyst to their compassion may have been the founding of All Companion, but Drae now practices compassion in every aspect of their life. Whether it is deciding what the next adventure is going to be, or how they can change their daily routine to eliminate waste and create a smaller footprint, Drae is committed to making COMPASSION a beacon of light in their life.
After listening to his podcast (which you may want to do a couple of times) we hope that you find compassion in your life and continue to practice it daily!

Character Talks - Ep. 3 - Lauren Loria - PERSPECTIVE
There are folks you meet that you instantly know you should pay attention to! You know they are going to offer you something positive in your life! Lauren is one of those people! Like many of us, life has been a road of ups and downs, and twists and turns! However, at some point in her life, she decided to take control and gain a new PERSPECTIVE and it is powerful!
This episode is one that everyone can relate to! For me, directly after speaking with Lauren, I found myself questioning my own thinking on certain topics and, more importantly, some of the things that I was saying to myself internally. What a powerful feeling to know that you are truly in control of your thoughts and reactions.
Grab a cup of tea, find a comfy spot and spend a few minutes with Lauren and see how you could apply more PERSPECTIVE to your life!
As always, a huge shoutout to Chad Hollister for allowing us to use his song LIFE as the start of the podcast. For more information or to listen to more of his music, please visit his website at: https://chadmusic.com/

Character Talks - Ep. 2 - May Jackson - GRIT
So many young people are faced with difficult questions when they graduate from high school or college. Or, when they make the difficult decision that school may not be for them. In this episode, we chat with May Jackson, a long-time friend, who worked through those very decisions and decided to pack up her car and move across the country to chase a dream.
During the episode, we learn about a few of the experiences that May had that contributed to who she is today. Going through different adventures and experiences is what life is all about, but taking the time to really dive into what those experiences are teaching you takes them to a whole new level!
Now, years later, May fills us in on how those experiences contributed to who she is and the life she is living. When she told me that the word that best described her Character was GRIT...it was perfect!
Many thanks to Chad Hollister for allowing us to use such an incredible song called LIFE. Be sure to check out his music and support him by grabbing some music and seeing him live...which you will not regret!

***SPECIAL NOTE***
This interview was done in 2020 during the pandemic. In recent conversations, May has discussed how sharing her story, along with many other things, has changed her and vaulted her into even more adventures! Stay tuned for an updated episode and Character Word!

Character Talks - Ep. 1- Chris Christie - FORGIVENESS
The first Character Talks podcast is here! In this initial episode, I interviewed MYSELF! I wanted to share my original story in audio format. While I have mentioned the first time that I practiced forgiveness in the past, in this episode I dive a bit deeper.
Along with sharing my first Character Story, I also go into a bit more detail about what these podcasts are all about. We all have incredible stories of experiences that shaped who we are today...and I want to hear them...and so do a lot of folks!
I hope you enjoy the first episode! If you have an experience or adventure that you would like to share, please reach out to us! Episode 2 is already being edited and it is a good one!
