Give it Your All: The Chick Fil A of Moving Companies
Give it Your All: The Chick Fil A of Moving Companies
Episode 72 of The Hitstreak, a podcast where we talk about anything and everything!
This week, we're joined by True Friends Moving Company Owner Chris Knowles. We discuss leaving his Fortune 500 company to be an entrepreneur, dreaming big, and scaling a business.
Let us know in the comments what YOU want to hear about next!
About our Guest:
Originally from Georgia, Chris worked for a local moving company while still in high-school one summer and always aspired to own his own one day. While pursuing a bachelor's in Business Management he began a career in corporate sales at a Fortune 500 company, but always remembered his business ownership dream. After much soul searching, he realized that building his own company and brand was more of a passion than building someone else’s, and the rest is history. However, knowing how to do some moving one summer, and running a business was two totally separate skills, so he just learned as he went, which came with a lot of trial and error.
Today, True Friends is a power house in the area and has a huge presence in the Nashville market, helping them to not only win Best of Nashville year over year, but also a Top 50 business in Nashville from the Inc 5000. These days, Chris is continuing to keep the brand growing strong, while also giving back to the local community thru local charity partnerships like Safe Haven, Men of Valor and Live Love Nashville. With their proven concept and very marketable brand, franchising is next on the horizon for Chris and TFM, as helping other likeminded entrepreneurs grow is a new passion that he is looking forward to going after. Outside of the business, he just celebrated his 15 year anniversary and has 2 awesome daughters and spends any extra time dedicated to family.

This week, we're joined by your go-to mortgage lender, Jeff Suter! Tune in as we talk about effort, belief, and doing more than you ever thought possible!
Let us know in the comments what YOU want to hear about next!
About our Guest:
Jeff Suter is most importantly, married to his beautiful wife Autumn, and father to his amazing girls Addi (15) and Emma (8). He was born and raised in Nashville, TN, and attended the infamous castle on Broadway, one of the top academic high schools in the nation, Hume-Fogg Academic. After one semester at Belmont University, he dropped out and got to work, starting his career pulling groceries in the freezer at Sysco Nashville.
Suter bought his first home at 20, went into food sales for Sysco at 27, and this is where he found his passion for people and building relationships. In 2010, he left Sysco to partner in a roofing business, which grew to 3 million per year in sales over the course of 7 years. In late 2017, Jeff decided he was ready to grow something different, which is when the mortgage business fell in his lap. Not knowing the first thing about it, he dove in and doubled his business year over year for the first four years, taking it to 50 million in Year 4. During this time, he has mentored clients, employees, family, and friends, not only in the mortgage world, but in their business and personal life. As of December, he has completed Coach Nate Bailey’s “Unleash the Leader Within” program, which included a “suck day,” a fire walk, and a glass walk, all with the mission of mental and physical breakthroughs. Suter hopes to continue to grow, be the example the world needs, and to be refined!

Raconteurs, Getting Sober, and Parenting w/Brendan Benson
Raconteurs, Getting Sober, and Parenting w/Brendan Benson
Episode 35 of The Hitstreak, a podcast where we talk about anything and everything!
This week we're joined by Brendan Benson, co-founder of The Raconteurs, talking about family, parenting, getting sober, and his time with the band.
Let us know in the comments what YOU want to hear about next!
About our Guest:
Brendan Benson finds himself in an enviable spot as he enters the third decade of a remarkably creative, consistently idiosyncratic career - an accomplished frontman, musician, songwriter, producer, and band member. Benson's first new LP in seven years, DEAR LIFE marks his most inventive and upbeat work thus far. An 11-track song cycle about life, love, family, fatherhood, and the pure joy of making music. Produced and almost entirely performed by Benson at his own Readymade Studio in Nashville, the album sees the Michigan-born, Nashville-based artist reveling in a more modernist approach than ever before. Imbued with revitalized ambition and confidence, DEAR LIFE is Brendan Benson at his very best.
Beginning with 1996's now-classic debut, ONE MISSISSIPPI and its masterful 2002 follow-up, LAPALCO, Benson has always infused classic craftsmanship with contemporary invention. Along with his own critically acclaimed canon, Benson is co-founder - with Jack White, Jack Lawrence, and Patrick Keeler - of The Raconteurs. The band first convened in 2006, winning worldwide acclaim, GRAMMY Award nominations, and a chart-topping smash single "Steady As She Goes," with their now-classic debut album, BROKEN BOY SOLDIERS. After more than a decade, The Raconteurs returned to action in 2019 with their critically acclaimed, chart-topping LP, HELP US STRANGER, highlighted in part by songs Benson had initially considered for his own LP, "Only Child" and "Somedays (I Don't Feel Like Trying)."

Conquering Self-Doubt and Building Confidence w/ Carlos Vasquez and Peter Meyerhoff
Conquering Self-Doubt and Building Confidence w/ Carlos Vasquez and Peter Meyerhoff
Episode 33 of The Hitstreak, a podcast where we talk about anything and everything!
This week, we are joined by Carlos Vasquez, and previous guest, Peter Meyerhoff! Join us as we talk about overcoming challenges, the power of belief, The Warrior's Mindset, and more!
Let us know in the comments what YOU want to hear about next!
About our Guests:
As a child, Carlos' only dream was to become a professional baseball player. His parents put him in sports and catholic school, and he received straight A’s. Everything in his world started to change by the age of 13. His father left, his mother went into a deep depression, and his teenage sister got pregnant at 16. By the time Carlos was 14, life at home became so unbearable, he ran away. Carlos started off living in the streets, he joined a gang, became addicted to drugs, and committed himself to a life of crime.
At 16 his best friend killed himself in front of him while they played a game of Russian roulette. That caused Carlos to develop PTSD and become even more violent and destructive. At 19, Carlos was arrested after being hunted down by US Marshalls, and received 20 years in prison for armed robbery. It was on a trip to solitary confinement that ultimately sparked transformation in his life.
He went on to finish High School, then college, graduating with a 3.8 GPA in both Psychology, and Liberal Arts. He also earned Certificates in Entrepreneurship, Public Speaking, and Mentorship. His last four years incarcerated were spent organizing and teaching life changing workshops within the prison. He paroled on June 25, 2021 after serving 17 years.
Today, Carlos is the founder and CEO of How to Battle: Coaching for Conquering Self-doubt and Building Confidence.
You could say Peter Meyerhoff had the world in his palm as a kid, from athletics, modeling, and even starring in a movie.
In high school, he began using drugs, starting with just weed, before turning to hard drugs. His life spiraled downhill extremely fast, from stealing cars to robbing houses. He got arrested multiple times. Eventually, he was sent to prison for 12 years, at the age of 18, and didn’t get out until after his 30th birthday.
Peter ended up getting swallowed up by prison politics and by the end of it, was the "Shot Caller" in there. He gained his success from transferring his pains from prison, to drive for success out in the world.
He made a couple million dollars his first 5 years out of prison, with only an 8th grade education. He started his podcast to help motivate people, as well as telling his story across prisons and jails across the country, and he now owns a sober clothing company.
Peter’s goals now are to motivate people when he speaks, using the mental strength he acquired in solitary confinement, helping people get sober, and change the recidivism rate, by showing people what’s really possible with the right drive and no excuses. History has a way of repeating itself but with his guidance and experiences he’s helping the younger generation not go through the rough pitfalls of life.

Charlie continued to work in the Country Music industry in several capacities for Acuff Rose Music Publishing and ASCAP until finally he focused on his own company, 'Monk Family Music Group,' where many songwriters and artist careers were born and developed. In recent years Charlie was hired by SiriusXM as a consultant to help develop music industry connections. But Charlie’s talent as a broadcaster lead him to begin work as the host of Willie’s Roadhouse, a radio satellite channel under Sirius XM Radio station. Until very recently, Charlie’s broadcasts could be heard seven days a week. He’s finally cut back to two days per week but Charlie’s unmistakable radio voice can still be heard on Willie’s Roadhouse. He also rushed 30 times for 123 yards and two touchdowns and returned eight kickoffs for 168 yards. McClain was honored by the East Tennessee Chapter of the National Football Foundation and Hall of Fame. He is also a member of the Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools Sports Hall of Fame and UT’s Athletics Hall of Fame, and he has earned the Maxwell House Sport Award. In 1987, McClain was appointed to an alumni position on UT’s Athletic Board. Episode 6 of The Hitstreak, a podcast where we talk about anything and everything! This week we talk with Jerremy Newsome about some secrets about money, and the stigma that surrounds it. Let us know in the comments what YOU want to hear about next! About our Guest: In November 2014, Jerremy Alexander Newsome launched Real Life Trading, a company designed to make trading accessible to everyone. Jeremy started his love for business and growth at the age of seven after watching the movie Forest Gump with his family. The scene where Forrest said “Lt Dan invested in some fruit company and now we don’t have to worry about money anymore?” Growing up dirt poor, the thought of never having to worry about money seemed appealing. He asked his father to explain investing and his father taught him about Apple Computers. He begged his father to invest. Finally his father agreed to match his deposit, dollar for dollar. He saved $1,500 picking blackberries and selling them door to door. They bought $3,000 worth of AAPL shares back in 1995. Today those shares would be worth $14,000,000. Jerremy Alexander Newsome is on a mission to enrich lives with mentally liberating education. Since the age of seven, he has been fascinated with investing and growth and even convinced his father to match his investment deposit for some Apple stock back in 1995, which would be worth $14,000,000. His passion for helping others enrich their lives through investing led him to found Real Life Trading in 2014. This starting point has allowed him to assist and enrich tens of thousands of lives while also growing the company organically to a seven figure business.
