This week we are kicking off the Killer October series with one of the most disturbing cases I've ever heard. Two middle school girls discover stories about The Slender Man which seems innocent at first but when claim they start seeing the mythical creature and communicating with him...things take a very dark turn. This is the case of Payton Leutner and The Slender Man.

This week we dive into a 27 year old cold case that initiated one of the largest searches ever conducted for a single missing child in US history. The case goes cold despite effort from thousands to find 11 year old Jacob Wetterling. 27 years later the case heats up with the help of another victim and a mom with a blog who became invested in the case, together they brought new light to the case. The information they found was shocking and ultimately lead to Jacob's abductor. And what the man had to say was heartbreaking.

Halloween night after handing out candy to the neighborhood kids, two of the three roommates are attacked and murdered. No obvious motive, but investigators believe Leslie was the target. This week we look into the disappearance and potential murder of Sarah Stern. When Sarah discovers a large amount of cash hidden in her home, she unknowingly puts a target on her back. He did an 8 part series on this case, and police actually credited him for keeping this case alive and actually bringing new light to the case. That likely resulted in the recent activity in the case. (I don't want to give it away if you've never heard of this case before). I haven't listened to the podcast yet, I didn't even realize the podcast was out there until I started looking into this, and saw so many people talking about it. I'll definitely be listening to the entire podcast series now!
