Ep. 64 Transformation Through Relationships: The Value of Humility and Checking Yourself
In this heart-to-heart, I sit down with political strategist, and community organizer, Shianne Winston, for a vulnerable discussion about how it's important for us to step out of our own ego to better ourselves in our relationships with others. In a cancel and cut-off culture, the art of communication, patience, understanding and healthy feedback has been lost. It's refreshing to sit down and acknowledge the human reality of valuing relationships and caring about how those we work and interact with frequently understand us. We are all connected, and it can be important to remember what it takes for us to live in harmony. We both chat about learning through the feedback of others, or the ending of valuable relationships, which has propelled us to be more effective in our personal relationships today. You can follow Shianne on instagram @shismithwins . This is an episode from the vault, so it was recorded some time ago. Since recording this episode, Shianne has wedded her partner.

Ep. 61 Gifts of Grief: Defining Fulfillment
This is our last episode of the Gifts of Grief series, and we're ending with reflections on fulfillment. The question is, how do you define fulfillment? Join me as I discuss how my various experiences of grief have helped me define fulfillment for me, especially as I think about relationships, joy, gratitude, the sweetness of existence, experiences, and purpose. Some people never even experience fulfillment or contentment in their lives, so how can it be something we reach for? How can we use loss or challenge to help guide our path to fulfilling lives? Tap in, and let's chat.

Ep. 60 Gifts of Grief: Creating Valuable Relationships
In today's episode, we discuss what it means to have, create and maintain valuable relationships. I've learned that you can learn a lot about the strength of a friendship when death is in the picture. In my experience, people can leave when you need them most, but some people show up greatly. I've also noticed differences in how friends of the deceased show up after they've died. Everyone grieves differently; however, these experiences have led me to think about the significance of relationships and how we treat the ones that seem most valuable to us. Let's tap in and talk about relationships.

Ep.59 Gifts of Grief: How do you see life and purpose?
Today we're going deep, ya'll. My recent experience of witnessing a loved one's deep hopelessness at the end of life got me really grateful for my hope, fervency, and connection to both life and a sense of purpose. So today, we're reflecting on the question, how do you see life and purpose? More specifically, how would you define what it means to "live" or even live a "well-lived" life? What are your thoughts on purpose? Do you know yours? What does it mean to live in or on purpose? I'm sharing with you, what's important to me: experiences, love, peace, health, and purpose. For me, I chose purpose due to my own story, but we'll talk about that once you tap in.

Ep. 58- Gifts of Grief: Whats Your Legacy?
This is our first episode of the Gifts of Grief series. In today's episode, I'm exploring questions connected to "legacy" that may arise when reflecting on life after someone dies. Questions like: how do others see me? How do I see myself? How do I want to be remembered? and how will others remember me? Have you thought about what people would say about you at your funeral? How we are remembered is impacted by how we currently show up. Thinking about our legacy can serve as a tool for accountability. Are you showing in life, for yourself or others, in the way you want to be remembered?

Ep. 57 - Gifts of Grief Kickoff
Over the next couple of episodes, we'll be chatting about what can be learned from grief. The main question is, what can you gain with loss? Grief is the experience that occurs when we experience loss in our lives. In efforts of understanding how anything and everything can serve a higher good of consciousness, insight, or transformation, I elect to see what grief and loss bring; what are the gifts of grief. The series will touch on gifts such as reflections on legacy, life, purpose, relationships, fulfillment, and gratitude.

Ep. 16 Embracing Your Gifts
We all have strengths and skills that can easily go unrecognized or not be embraced by ourselves. Maybe we take them for granted because they are just a part of us. Maybe we're too afraid to embrace them because celebrating them would challenge boxes that we or others have put ourselves in. Maybe embracing them and sharing them with the world feels too vulnerable. Tap into this episode as I chat with Leadership Strategist and Artist, Rachel Wyley, as we discuss the shifts that come with learning to embrace your gifts.

Ep. 55 Oaxaca and the Magic of Mexico
Join me as I share my transformational and, dare I say, stimulating experience in the gem that is Qaxaca, Mexico. Being there reminded me how much I live through my senses and why it's essential to be present and connect to the pure goodness that life has to offer. From the food to the cultural celebrations to the art to the hillsides, Quaxaca was exactly what I needed when it came into my life. Oftentimes, travel experiences can be transformative in that way. My major takeaway, sometimes the most simple experiences and pastimes, can provide fullness in life.

Ep. 18 Lessons in Self Love: Nurturing Your Inner Child
If you were raised in a home of abuse, neglect, dysfunction, control, manipulation, or critique, you may want to grab some chamomile or lavender tea or oils for this. This week, I'm reading more excerpts from my book, The 5 Commandments of Self Love, and we're discussing how your "wounded inner child" can impact your self love journey. We all have an inner child, that unconscious child-like state that exists within us, however some of us have a wounded inner child that carries shame, sadness, guilt, anger, and sorrow. We discuss what shapes the wounded inner child, how to treat and re-parent yourself when its activated, and what to keep in mind in order to embrace, honor, and accept yourself. Ep. 42 The Value of New Year Intentions
A new calendar (Gregorian) year is often an opportunity for reflection, goal, and intention setting. Do note, that time is elusive, so of course, each moment, day, week, month, moon cycle, or a trip around the sun, is an opportunity to do the same: reflect, release, and welcome. In today's episode, I'm sharing my thoughts on the value of intention setting for the new year. It's a brief episode, but hopefully, it will give you some things to think about. Heartbreak can illuminate the challenges around self-love that you may have. Tap in for this second installment of the 5 Commandments of Self Love read-along experience as I deep dive into pg. 36-46 of the book, exploring the section "First Comes Heartbreak." Learning how to trust yourself, and trust life, can be hard for so many people. Its what keeps us playing it safe, which is fine, if that's what you want. But if you want some amazingness beyond what's comfortable, its going to take some risk taking. Njideka is the founder and CEO of Shifting the Culture Wealth Group https://www.stcwealth.com/ . Ep. 13 Shifts in 2020- Questions for End of the Year Reflection
Well ya'll, we made it. This is the last days of the year, and there's a lot to reflect on. Every December, I journal and reflect on a host of questions to really go through my experience and growth for the year. In this episode, I'll take you through some questions that I typically ask during my end of the year reflection. Questions like: what were major lessons learned? In what ways did I grow? What wins can I celebrate? How did I practice self love? Get your journal and takes some notes, so you can lean into reflection of 2020 and intention setting for 2021. Ep. 8 Trust and My PNW Roadtrip
On this episode, I discuss some shifts around "trust" that I experienced while solo road tripping from Inglewood to Seattle. In my efforts to have a spontaneous adventure, there were definitely some hiccups. I had many opportunities to pause, search for answers within, and embrace the possibilities that would unfold. Being in so many positions where I got to make, even simple decisions, really helped deepen my ability to trust myself.

Ep. 38 Honor Thy Spirit (Self Love Series #8)
Let's discuss the 4th Commandment of Self Love, Honor Thy Spirit. Spirit speaks to the metaphysical energy and consciousness of yourself outside of your basic sensory experience. In exploring spirit, we're discussing the intuitive connection that you have to yourself. There are different pathways in which this connection is established and nurtured, however, it's important as well speak about self-love, that we acknowledge how important spirit is. Ep. 37 Honor Thy Body (Self Love Series #7)
Let's talk about honoring thy body. We're exploring the 3rd Commandment of Self Love based on my book, The 5 Commandments of Self Love. Let's explore how the aspects of the body that don't get discussed, like the trapped emotional experiences and the physiological responses to all types of stimuli. Honoring your body can look like body acceptance, but it's much more than that. All that we watch, listen to, read impacts our body. All that we do to, say to, put on, put in, and allow near our bodies, impact us. You can purchase my book on Amazon, to read along. To get more information about me and my work, you can visit www.livethebelife.com

Ep. 36 Honor Thy Mind (Self Love Series #6)
Today we're getting into the 2nd Commandment of Self Love: Honor Thy Mind. The basic idea is understanding, everything impacts your thoughts, even the stimuli that you think don't matter. If what you think is influenced by the environments and people you're around, as well as your sensory experience, how do you intentionally cultivate a nurturing environment for your mind? Honoring your mind is about the awareness and selection of content, conversation, and exposure that your mind registers. This may be an uncomfortable conversation because it may challenge some accountability and intentionality, but that's self-love for you. To read along, make sure to purchase The 5 Commandments of Self Love. You can follow me on ig @tiffinspires. If you have the book, The 5 Commandments of Self Love, you can find this on page 109. It's tough to honor yourself when you don't see yourself, or if you're not connected to yourself. In today's episode I'm going through tons of deep-dive questions you can explore to peel back some layers. I mean, how does one learn to know and accept themselves? This section, and this commandment, is the fuel for my TedX talk I did this year on "Owning Your Identity in the Digital Age." Ep. 33 Finding Coping Mechanisms (Self Love Series #3)
When we're overwhelmed with emotion and stress, it can feel tough facing our emotions. We may want to ignore, avoid, or push down what we're feeling, but disconnecting from our feelings allows us to disconnect from ourselves, and if we're on a self-love journey, that may not be what we want. Tap in, and lets about how you respond to the world. Make sure to follow me on IG @tiffinspires to keep up with the self-love box giveaway I'll be announcing soon. You can also follow me on IG @tiffinspires. You may purchase the 5 Commandments of Self Love online at Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and Target.

Ep. 30 Tapping into Your Creativity
Hey, Y'all! In this episode, I am joined by beauty vlogger and artist, Brittany Golden. She is the host of the YouTube channel, Its A Golden Lifestyle, and also the fabulous CEO of IGL Nails, a chic and affordable press-on nail company popping up all over the US. We are discussing the question, How does one tap into their creativity? Creativity can offer such a transformational experience, and often, adults feel like unless they identify as an artist, that it's difficult to tap into the creativity. In the dialogue, I loved finding out that creativity was a major healing tool for grief around our parents' deaths, but we both have used it to express all emotions. Creativity is also a spiritual pathway to us connecting to our higher selves, so let's talk about it. Ep. 24 Embracing New Identities

Ep. 23 The Gifts of Grief
In this solo episode, I discuss shifts that I have experienced around grief, and the gifts I feel like I have received. Loss is a normal part of our everyday lived experiences, but we often don't embrace loss as an opportunity to receive more. When we release attachment to people, roles, aspects of our identities, and experiences, its making more room for our spirits to operate in something higher or more aligned. I'm releasing this episode on the weekend of Mother's Day in the US, in dedication of my mother who has passed, but also as an ode to those who may be experiencing any type of grief themselves. Conversations about death and grief are not normalized as much as they should be in the US, so this is an effort to have a different type of conversation, which you will hopefully take something away from. Ep. 22 Combatting Self Criticism and Embracing Imperfection
Excited to share this bonus episode with you! Its a bit personal, and I'm sure necessary for someone. If you battle with a loud critical voice, you're in for some good nourishment. In this episode, I'm opening up about my recent emotional journey in participating in the 2021 TedxUCDavis conference. I'll be sharing about my shifts around embracing imperfection, and understanding your value, deservingness, and enough=-ness in light of your imperfection. We know there is no such thing as perfection, but our minds, media, and the world around us, trick us to believe otherwise sometimes. Experiencing imperfection is vulnerable, and its important to validate your emotions around it, but also lean in to the opportunity of beauty that's available. Ep. 21 Being in Flow
What does flow mean to you? What does it look like to trust yourself? To trust life? How does allowing yourself to surrender and not always be in control feel? In this episode, I'm joined by Les, the amazing podcast host and leader of the wellness community of Balanced Black Girl, for an honest conversation about the journey we've had in understanding flow. I say journey because we both recognize, that its not over. One of the points that we both reiterated through this episode, is the value of creating intentional space to know, understand and connect with yourself. I'm so sure that you will take some good gems away from this ya'll. Understanding what works for you and fits your life and needs, is what this dialogue is all about! Ep. 20 Lessons The Body Teaches
How connected do you feel to your body? Are you aware of when your body is telling you to stop, slow down, or give it what it needs? This episode is all about mindful connection with the body, and learning about yourself through the signals the body communicates with you. In this episode, I'm joined by Sondrina Bullitt, a licensed acupuncturist and herbalist and owner of The Healing Space in Los Angeles Ca. (https://www.thehealingsp-ce.com/), and we're discussing our own shifts around our connections with our body. We spend some time exploring the difference between Eastern/Indigenous medicine vs Western medicine, and how folks could benefit from understanding more about the latter.

Ep. 19 Employing Self-Advocacy & Operating in Assertiveness

Ep. 17 Lessons in Self Love - The 4 A's
Today we dive a little in to my book, The 5 Commandments of Self Love, and discuss the "4 A's" that can help you practice the first commandment, honor thyself: acknowledgement, acceptance, accountability, and authenticity. The 5 Commandments of Self Love is a framework that allows one to anchor themselves in various practices that foster acceptance and honoring of self. Learning to acknowledge yourself, accept all that you are, practice healthy accountability, and embrace your authentic self, are all steps that can help one honor themselves. Ep. 15 Knowing Yourself & Creating Your Lane
