It's another throwback this week as we review Wolf of Wall Street from 2013! This movie is directed by Martin Scorsese and stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Jonah Hill, Margot Robbie & more! We talk about just how insane this movie is, and also spend some time reminiscing, because this was the first movie the both of us ever saw together! Before we get to our review, we talk about the death of Jimmy Buffett, Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner getting together, Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner divorcing, & more!

This week we jump back to 2013 to review About Time! This movie is directed by Richard Curtis and stars Domhnall Gleeson, Rachel McAdams, and Bill Nighy. We discuss our likes and dislikes for this film, and how we think the film has aged in the last 10 years. In news, we talk about the pushback of Dune Part 2 due to the Actors and Writers strikes, & the death of Price is Right host Bob Barker at the age of 99.

This week we head in the time machine back to 1946 to review Notorious! This movie is directed by Alfred Hitchcock and stars Cary Grant, Ingrid Bergman, and Claude Rains! We talk about our likes and dislikes for this movie and discuss where this film ranks in Hitchcock's filmography. Before that we share some news regarding Rihanna having her second child and also a controversy with Bradley Cooper, and then give you some recommends!

It's back to school time, so we decided to review a classic film centered around education, 2001's Legally Blonde! The movie stars Reese Witherspoon, Luke Wilson, Jennifer Coolidge, Selma Blair and more! We go over our likes and dislikes, classic quotes, and how this movie likely influenced 2023's Barbie. Before our review we talk about the new trailer for Maestro, starring and directed by Bradley Cooper, and also touch on the news of Brittney Spears' divorce.

We finally made it! 200 episodes! Thanks to you for listening to the show and supporting, either by following along on social media, or giving us a review in your podcast app of choice or both! After that, it's a preview of all the big movies coming out through the end of the year. On this episode we tackle Christopher Nolan's Oppenheimer starring Cillian Murphy, Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, Robert Downey Jr. and sooo many other big name actors as well. We spend basically the entire episode discussing this real life story of J. Robert Oppenheimer, the man who created the atomic bomb. The 2 biggest movies of the summer are now out! We are starting with Barbie, directed by Greta Gerwig and starring Margot Robbie in the lead role and Ryan Gosling as Ken. We give you our thoughts, funny moments, and some behind the scenes facts! Before we get into our discussion on Barbie, we talk about the passing of beloved crooner Tony Bennett and also share some recommends.

Tom Cruise is back as Ethan Hunt in Mission Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One! This movie is directed by Christopher McQuarrie and along with Cruise stars Hayley Atwell, Rebecca Ferguson, Vanessa Kirby & more! Before our review of MI7, we discuss the SAG-AFTRA Strike, some celebrity splits, including Ariana Grande breaking up and then immediately bouncing back with a new man, and of course share some recommends!

Jared was on a little vacation, so sorry for the delay, but here's our thoughts on Indiana Jones & The Dial of Destiny! Harrison Ford is back in the lead role and is joined by Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Antonio Banderas, Mads Mikkelsen and more! How does this compare to the previous films in the franchise? This week it's back into the world of Pixar as we review Elemental, directed by Peter Sohn! The movie stars (in voice roles) Leah Lewis as Ember Lumen and Mamoudou Athie as Wade Ripple. Before our thoughts on Elemental, we talk briefly about the Titan submersible explosion, some changes coming to how the Best Picture category will work starting with the 2025 Oscars, and also share some recommends!

Thompson and stars the voice talent of Shameik Moore as Miles Morales. This week it's another Disney live-action remake with The Little Mermaid! This movie is directed by Rob Marshall and stars Halle Bailey, Melissa McCarthy, Javier Bardem, Awkwafina and more! We talk about this remake compared to the animated original film that came out in the 80's and share with you some things this movie did better, and some things it did worse than the original. As always though, we start off with some recommendations!

This week it's all about family as we review Fast X. Starring Vin Diesel, Jason Momoa and 74 other people in Hollywood, the plot for this one is Dom has to save his family again (shocker!) This week it's back to the MCU for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3! This movie is directed by James Gunn and stars Chris Pratt, Bradley Cooper, Chukwudi Iwuji, Dave Bautista, Zoe Saldana and more! Does this wrap up this trilogy in a nice way? Tune in and find out! This movie stars Matt Damon & Ben Affleck and is directed by Affleck as well. Also in the movie are Jason Bateman, Viola Davis & Chris Tucker! Michael B. Jordan is back as Adonis Creed, and this time he's bringing Jonathan Majors along for the ride. Tune in for our review on Creed III which is directed by Jordan, and also stars Tessa Thompson and is the third (and maybe final?) movie in this series. We continue cruising right along in our 2023 Best Picture Nominees series with a review of All Quiet on the Western Front! This movie is directed by Edward Berger and is based on the 1929 book of the same name. We talk about how this version of the film differs from the book, and also the 1930 and 1979 movie versions, and share with you our likes and dislikes for the movie. This film is also nominated for numerous Oscars at the upcoming Academy Awards and we talk about what categories we think it might win. Next up in the 2023 Best Picture Nominees series is Tár! This movie is directed by Todd Field and stars Cate Blanchett (and really only Cate Blanchett) as a classical music conductor. We discuss Blanchett's performance, our likes and dislikes with the movie, and if we think this film has any Oscar chances. We also recap the BAFTA's (the British Academy of Film and Television Awards) and share with you some recommendations of what we are watching/reading right now!

We continue our Best Picture Nominees series with Women Talking! This film is directed by Sarah Polley and stars Rooney Mara, Claire Foy, & Jessie Buckley among others. The film is based on the book of the same name, and is about women who are sexually assaulted in a religious colony in 2010 and have to wrestle with the decision to leave, do nothing, or stay and fight. We talk about what we liked and didn't like about the film (including the sepia tone filter the whole movie is shot in) and its chances at the Academy Awards in March. We also chat about the Makeup and Hairstylist Guild Awards and Katie shares some shows she is checking out on Netflix!

This week we kick off our series reviewing the rest of the Best Picture nominees that we didn't get to throughout the year, with the Banshees of Inisherin. This movie is about two lifelong friends who find themselves at an impasse when one abruptly ends their relationship. Banshees is directed by Martin McDonagh and stars Colin Farrell, Brendan Gleeson, Kerry Condon, and Barry Keoghan. Tom Hanks is back with another movie, which means we are back with a review! This time it's "A Man Called Otto" based on the book A Man Called Ove by Fredrik Backman. The movie also stars Mariana Trevino, Mack Bayda, Truman Hanks & more! We talk about what we liked and didn't like about the film, and how closely it compare to the book. At the beginning of the episode we recap the Critics Choice Awards and Golden Globes, the legal situation with the Rust movie set shooting, and share some recommendations.

We are back with a review of Damien Chazelle's new film, Babylon! The movie stars Margot Robbie, Brad Pitt, and Diego Calva and is about the early days of Hollywood and also the transition from silent films to "talkies". We share what we liked and didn't like about the film, and discuss some of Chazelle's other work as well. The movie also stars Janelle Monáe, Edward Norton, and Kate Hudson along with many more. We share our likes and dislikes and how this film compares to the original Knives Out. The movie is directed by Antoine Fuqua and stars Smith as a runaway slave who forges through the swamps of Louisiana on a tortuous journey to escape plantation owners that nearly killed him. We discuss our likes and dislikes with this film, including the decision to release the film in black and white, the time of year Apple decided to release this movie, and also how historically accurate the film is. We also touch on the passing of Stephen "tWitch" Boss from So You Think You Can Dance and Ellen, and discuss new trailers for The Pale Blue Eye and Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.

This week it's a review of the new restaurant thriller, The Menu, directed by Mark Mylod and starring Anya Taylor-Joy, Ralph Fiennes, and Nicholas Hoult. We talk about how this is an original concept for a movie, some of the twists and turns throughout the film, and how we enjoyed the movie's brisk runtime. We also touch on the new trailers for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and Indiana Jones 5 and discuss the passing of actress Kirstie Alley.

This week it's back to Netflix for the new movie The Wonder starring Florence Pugh and directed by Sebastián Lelio. The movie is about "A tale of two strangers who transform each other's lives, a psychological thriller, and a story of love pitted against evil." but we debate that description a little bit in our review. We dive deep into this film, sharing with you what liked and didn't like. We also chat about Pete Davidson's new relationship with Emily Ratajkowski, and the Academy's decision to televise all 23 Oscar categories live during the broadcast next year.

This week it's a review of the new movie She Said, about the true story of the discovery of sexual abuse allegations against movie producer Harvey Weinstein. The movie stars Carey Mulligan, and Zoe Kazan and is directed by Maria Schrader. We discuss our likes and dislikes with the movie, and how accurate it was to the real-life reporting that took place by the New York Times. We also touch on Bob Iger being back as the CEO of the Walt Disney Company and the alleged breakup of Harry Styles and Olivia Wilde.

This week we review the new Marvel movie Black Panther: Wakanda Forever starring Letitia Wright, Lupita Nyong’o & Danai Gurira. The movie is directed by Ryan Coogler, and is the sequel to the 2018's Black Panther. We discuss the film's handling of the passing of Chadwick Boseman, and we both disagree a little on our thoughts about this movie. Plus in news, we talk about how Nick Cannon has two more children with two more different women, and Chris Evans being named the Sexiest Man Alive.

This week we review the new David O. Russell film, Amsterdam. This movie has arguably the biggest cast of the year starring Christian Bale, Margot Robbie, John David Washington, Taylor Swift, Rami Malek, Anya-Taylor Joy and the list goes on and on. We discuss what we liked and disliked about this film, how it underperformed at the box office, and also the decision to release this movie at the beginning of October. We also start the show by talking about the life and career of Angela Lansbury who passed away at the age of 96, and share some recommendations.

This week we review the new film Blonde starring Ana De Armas as Marilyn Monroe, Adrien Brody, Julianne Nicholson, and directed by Andrew Dominik! We discuss what we liked and disliked about this film and how accurate it actually is to the life of Marilyn Monroe.  Also we talk about it being rated NC-17 and also if it needed to be almost 3 full hours long. We also discuss Coolio passing away, Ed Sheeran getting sued for Thinking Out Loud, and the possibilty of Dua Lipa and Trevor Noah dating, and of course share with you recommendations!

We're back after our short hiatus to discuss Don't Worry Darling starring Florence Pugh, Harry Styles, Chris Pine & Olivia Wilde and directed by Ms. Wilde. We don't dive into too much of the drama surrounding this drama film (you can catch that on our last episode), but we do have a lengthy discussion regarding the contents of the movie. We talk about if the film is trying to do too much, is Harry Styles a good actor, should Olivia Wilde have directed, produced, and starred in this movie all at the same time and more! Plus in news, we hit on the cheating scandals involving Adam Levine of Maroon 5 and Ned Fulmer of The Try Guys, and of course share some recommends!

We revisit this horror/thriller classic and discuss how it still holds up today, and also how it has influenced a lot of films that came after it. This week we review the new Hulu film, Good Luck to You Leo Grande starring Emma Thompson and Darryl McCormack and directed by Sophie Hyde! The film is about a sex worker named Leo Grande, played by McCormack, who is hired by Emma Thompson's character, Nancy Stokes, for his services. We discuss our likes and dislikes with this film and if we think it has any Oscar buzz. Jordan Peele is back with his new thriller, Nope, which stars Daniel Kaluuya, Keke Palmer, & Brandon Perea! We talk about how this is a strong thriller movie, but does have a few downsides. We also compare it to his previous two films, Get Out & Us. Plus a discussion on the study that came out about just how much celebrities use their private jets (with Taylor Swift being the #1 offender) and of course recommendations!
