פרטיות ברשת - שיחה עם ד"ר דמיטרי אפשטיין
מארחים את ד"ר דמיטרי (דימה) אפשטיין לשיחה על המושג שנדמה שאנחנו פוגשים בכל פינה בשנים האחרונות: פרטיות. האם תאגיד עצום שפועל ואוסף מידע באמצעות אלגוריתם מכבד את זכותנו לפרטיות כפי שאנחנו מבינים אותה? איך, בעצם, אנחנו תופסים אינטואיטיבית את הזכות לפרטיות? או את עצם המושג פרטיות?
בפרק נבין שלא כולם מדברים בהכרח על אותו דבר כשהם אומרים "פרטיות", ושתהליכי עומק חברתיים מורכבים משחקים תפקיד מכריע הן בנגישות לפרטיות הולמת והן בהגדרת גבולותיה של זכות לפרטיות. נשוחח על ההבדלים בין גישה "אנכית" לגישה "אופקית" לפרטיות, ונצפה קדימה למידת ההשפעה של מחקר ואקטיביזם אזרחי על שמירת הזכות לפרטיות בעתיד.
דימה הוא מרצה בכיר במחלקה לתקשורת ועיתונאות ובבית הספר למדיניות וממשל, וחבר סגל במרכז לחקר הסייבר. עד לפני כחודש דימה היה יושב ראש איגוד חוקרי ממשל אינטרנט, והוא אחד מן המקימים של רשת בינלאומית למחקר השוואתי של פרטיות.
