Interview with Sarah Chase Candidate for Stafford County School Member School Board Falmouth District
Sarah Chase is a psychology professor at St. Mary's College of Maryland and a mother of three Stafford County Public School graduates. Her family has lived in Falmouth since 2001, and she has volunteered in the schools throughout that time. She believes this combination of experiences--parent and educator--gives me a unique understanding of the needs of Stafford's students and teachers. She was elected to the Falmouth seat for School Board in November of 2017. She has spent the past four years working to promote quality education, teacher retention, and smart spending--things that benefit all Stafford residents, regardless of whether you have a child in the school system. A few of the accomplishments she is most proud of are: 1) the acquisition of the North Star Early Childhood Education Center in north Stafford; 2) pay increases for teachers and staff all four years; 3) the renovation of Ferry Farm Elementary School, 4) the introduction of the Fire and Rescue CTE program, and 5) presenting the Stafford Count School Board funding request to the Board of Supervisors in 2019 and 2020.

Interview with Marc Broklawski Stafford County School Board Candidate Hartwood District
Marc Broklawski is the product of public schools. He’s the husband, brother, and grandson of public school teachers, and the son of an educational support professional. He’s the proud dad of two great kids in public schools.
Now Marc is running for Stafford County School Board because he knows schools are the backbone of our community. He will support teachers and every educator who impacts our kids’ lives while bringing transparency and accountability back to the Board so that our voices can be heard. Throughout his career, Marc has focused on building broad coalitions of stakeholders to improve efficiency and save money so that resources can be deployed where they’re needed most – giving taxpayers value for their dollar, and making the biggest impact possible. He’s already brought this experience to his work with the Capital Improvement Planning and Multicultural committees created by the Stafford County School Board.
Now, Marc’s diverse range of technical and business experience will be an asset to the Stafford County School Board as we prepare our schools, our kids, and our community to meet the challenges of reimagining education in a technological age.
Marc has lived in Stafford for 17 years with his wife Amanda — a public school teacher and a proud member of the Spotsylvania Education Association — and their two children.
