The TV Shows of 1999: Spaced | Bits | Red Dwarf
The TV Shows of 1999: Spaced | Bits | Red Dwarf
On our last TV episode of the 90s, we cover three quintessential British TV shows. All show us what delights the TV world had for us at this time. Spaced was the kick starter that eventually brought us the Cornetto trilogy, Red Dwarf (which ended its original run this year) showed it was possible to mash up sci-fi and comedy successfully and Bits gave us hope after the end of GamesMaster.
Fingers Crossed our audio issues are finally resolved as Chris got the chance to christen his new microphone and we treat you all to a small rendition of the Red Dwarf theme.....sorry!

The Movies of 1999: South Park Bigger, Longer & Uncut | The Sixth Sense | The World is not Enough
The Movies of 1999: South Park Bigger, Longer & Uncut | The Sixth Sense | The World is not Enough
CONTENT WARNING: This show contains a ton of swearing, because South Park.
We are finally here, on the last year of our journey through the 90s and this year was another corker for films, so it was a tough choice for the lads but they came up trumps with their final picks.
With the South Park film, The Sixth Sense and The World is not Enough (wonder who picked that one 🤔) we set our last movie podcast on a succulent journey filled with laughs, terrible South Park impressions, Jason making a fool of himself again and high emotions as we discussed these marvelous creations.
We also have some sound issues once again as Chris's mic decided it had had enough and packed up just before we started recording, so Chris had to bring out the emergency mic and he sounds like he's on the telephone! So apologies for that, but rest assured another mic has been acquired so hopefully, we are back to the high standards next time!
We also paid our tributes to two legends of the TV Screen that we sadly lost recently, Kevin Conroy and Jason David Frank.
Music Clips used on this episode:
Go Green Ranger Go by Nick Carr

We had it planned....well Jason did, not realising that Chris would be at the Isle of Wight festival and then also not realising that Rich was off on a work trip which left Jason's plans in tatters. Determined to get an episode out this week, Jason went on a hunt to find a guest at short notice and came up trumps when Mr Christian Dinh said yes!
Christian is a two time GamesMaster golden joystick winner and he kindly sat down with Jason to have a nice laid back conversation about both of his experiences on GamesMaster, meeting Natalie Imbruglia, finding out his would you rather answers, meeting Natalie Imbruglia, some of his favourite 90's pop culture and of course meeting Natalie Imbruglia!!

What's Wrong with Wolfie? Discusses: Batman & Robin with Ash Versus
No Rich this week meant Jason had to find a suitable replacement and came up trumps when The AMAZING Cliff from the N64life podcast agreed to take his place. He was maybe not so thrilled when he learnt the film we were covering though.
That film is Batman and Robin! Deemed the worst Batman film ever made and killed the franchise for eight years, we decided now was the time to go back and see if it is a better film than we remembered. To help us do this we were also joined by Ash Versus from the podcast Under Consoletation.

What's Wrong with Wolfie? Discusses | Independence Day with Steve Leyland
What's Wrong with Wolfie? Discusses | Independence Day with Steve Leyland
This week brings us one of the biggest movies ever released. A film so big in 1996 other films had to be moved or postponed because of it. Independence Day was and still is in some cases the blockbuster film and we jump in to discuss many aspects of the film from praising the best parts to questioning some of the decisions that were made and why some of it just wouldn't work in real life. And yes, Jason is well aware he say’s June 2nd and not July 2nd…..muppet!
Joining us is Jason and Rich's co host from the Dreamcast Years podcast, Steve and he doesn't hold any punches, but he does promise that he does love this film!
Of course, this wouldn't be The Wolfie Pod without some tangents and we raise up Wes Anderson films and War of the Worlds as we dissect Independence Day.

The Video Games of 1996: Wipeout 2097 | Tomb Raider | Quake
Not gonna lie, this one nearly didn't happen. From plenty of technical issues that were thrown our way we nearly called it a day, but we decided to struggle through and we think we ended up with a good show for you to enjoy. This week we continue our journey through the 90's and this time its the turn of video games. Before we discuss our picks we had a cheeky look through the multi format top ten for week 51 of 1996 and then progressing to our games which this week were Wipeout 2097, Tomb Raider and Quake. What an amazing line up, and the part of the 90's we have now hit is really showing the creativity from games thanks to the more advanced tech and tools available to developers.
