Today, we have a very special episode: we're taking a moment for our favorite Black women TV lawyers! Inspired by the top first worn by Kerry Washington that listed Clair, Joan, Maxine, Jessica, Olivia, Annalise, Molly, and Jax, we decided to take a moment for these fabulous characters. We're on a quest to answer the question: who would you want to be your lawyer? In a single elimination style bracket, we pick our top lawyers until we're down to one each to face off for the title. We give arguments, but it's ultimately up to you to decide. If you're in a bind, who's reppin' you? Take a stroll down memory lane with us as we reminisce on our favorite shows and characters and hypothesize how they would stack up to each other in the courtroom.

Today we're taking a moment for the cult classic: Love Jones. You can't talk about Black Love without talking about the movie Love Jones, so we had to see what it was all about! This movie did not disappoint. Adele's personality and music have created its own special place in pop culture and we are excited to discuss the Adele journey! Today we're taking a moment for the biopic Whitney Houston: I Wanna Dance with Somebody. As Whitney fans, it is our duty to view all things Whitney, and you know we had some thoughts! We get into what we liked and wanted more of, and fill in some missing details that non-fans might not know. Overall, the film is a great journey of Whitney's life and touches on historic moments. Today, we're taking a moment for some epic TV crossovers! Remember whenever your favorite shows would crossover and have a connection moment? They were so much fun and we had to talk about them. We're talking about the hilarious Fresh Prince of BelAir crossover with The Jeffersons, the famous That's So Suite Life of Hannah Montana Disney Channel crossover, and the shadiest crossover ever with Scandal and How To Get Away with Murder. This week is the season finale of season 2 and we wanted to end with some nostalgia. Today, we're taking a moment for our favorite 90's cartoon characters! Today, we're taking a moment for another teen idol: Lindsay Lohan. LiLo was a staple in our childhoods and we had to take a moment to discuss all our favorites. Let's be honest, Lindsay Lohan was carrying these Disney movies! We're talking The Parent Trap, Life-Size, Freaky Friday, Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen, and underrated romcom, Just My Luck. We also take a moment for her music career. Y'all remember Rumors? Please revisit. Although she's been gone for awhile, we are happy to see that Lindsay Lohan's journey is bringing her back to the screen because she was That Girl (Drama Queen). 

Today we're taking a moment for the new TV show Abbott Elementary. Although it is only in its first season, it has captured everybody's hearts and we had to talk about it! We go through season one and explore our favorite moments with each character, discuss the nuggets of wisdom they gave us, and admire Quinta Brunson's impact on the culture. We also love the way this show is shining a light on the joys and the challenges of being a teacher and share our own experiences. Get ready for heartfelt moments and to fall out laughing. Be sure to have a fresh chair on standby!

This week we discuss the classic Pixar Friendships: Woody & Buzz, Mike & Sully, and Marlin & Dory. Today we're taking a moment for the movie of our childhood that keeps on giving: Shrek. We're specifically taking a moment for Shrek 1 and Shrek 2. We talk about our favorite moments of the films, quote our favorite lines, reflect on musical moments, and dissect why Shrek has seen a resurgence in pop culture. We also analyze themes and metaphors connecting to racism and discuss the theories and reddit threads. Does Shrek 2 parallel Meghan Markle's life? Maybe! She should show it to her kids. We also talk some favorite Whitney collabs, interviews, and shady moments. This week is all about Paige and Paige needs a moment to discuss one of her favorite artists: Barbra Streisand. Barbra Streisand is a singer, actress, director extraordinaire that cannot be stopped! We discuss favorite seasons, favorite relationships, growth moments, callback moments, and the impact this show has had on our generation. This show always had Twitter in a frenzy and we dig into the drama and the debates. We celebrate the authenticity of these characters, the dialogue, and the depiction of Los Angeles. Issa Rae really changed the game for Black creators. Get ready to laugh, to cry, and to rap in the mirror. 

Today, we're taking a moment for the iconic film: The Devil Wears Prada. Grab your Chanel boots and join us as we talk favorite lines, Miranda moments, Andy's nada to Prada journey, and how her friends were lowkey villains. Don't throw my phone while my boss is calling! This week we're taking a moment for one of our childhood favorites, Amanda Bynes! We're talking The Amanda Show, What I Like About You, What A Girl Wants, She's The Man, and honoring the comedic legacy of our gal. Amanda Bynes was always the goofy girl that shook things up and we all wanted to be her friend. Let's give credit where credit is due and appreciate the comedic chops she had starting from a young age. Grab your crop top, long skirt, and clogs and enjoy this throwback moment.  

This week we're taking a moment for the iconic TV show, Girlfriends. We're talking favorite characters, disastrous relationships, the Joan and Toni saga, and how this show changed television. We also dig into the tough conversations the show tackles, moments that made us laugh, and the revival of discourse around this show via Twitter after it was put on Netflix. This show makes you laugh and makes you debate. So grab your giiiiirlfrieeends and get ready! P.s. give us the Girlfriends movie we deserve you cowards! 

This week, we're taking a moment for the Rush Hour trilogy! Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan are a force to be reckoned with in this series that impacted our childhoods. We discuss their iconic friendship/chemistry, the magical blend of action and comedy, our favorite jokes and scenes, and the important lesson of "following the rich white man" to solve a crime. These movies are full of lots of laughs, lots of explosions, and lots of extra-ness and we have fun re-living this epic buddy journey. Huge shoutout to Jackie Chan and his stuntman realness, he was not playin'.

This week we're taking a moment to admire the work of actress Brittany Murphy and dissect the HBO documentary What Happened, Brittany Murphy? which examines her untimely death. We talk about our favorite performances including her roles in Clueless, Girl Interrupted, and Little Black Book and discuss how they affected pop culture and her real life. We dive further into her life, relationships, and struggles as we unpack the conspiracy theories, archival footage, and family interviews of the documentary. Could her tragic death have been avoided? Let's talk about it.

This week we're taking a moment for the incomparable Denzel Washington. We're talking our favorite Denzel movies including Devil in a Blue Dress, The Great Debaters, The Preacher's Wife, and American Gangster as well as discussing the debate over his Oscar for Training Day, how one of our Pepperdine classmates never heard of Denzel, and how we wish he gave our commencement graduation speech. Get ready for some major monologuing.

This week we're discussing our favorite moments of 90's sitcom classic: Sister, Sister. We're talking justice for Lisa and Ray, the Kirk Franklin episode plus more memorable musical moments, the break ups and the make ups, and the stellar comedy chops of the cast. We discuss favorite our moments, memes, and the good times we had while watching. We're talking MTV, VH1, Nickelodeon, PBS, romcoms, teen movies, and more! Shout out to the 2000's for being such an iconic decade.  

Today we're talking about a major cultural moment: the Meghan Markle Oprah interview. We rehash the interview and discuss what we think were the biggest takeaways. We dig into Archie's title and security being taken away, how Archie's skin tone was brought up, Meghan's mental health, how Harry's family does not have his back, The Royal Family's relationship with the press, and we draw comparisons between Princess Diana and Meghan. We also discuss whether we dreamt of being princesses or not, how the Monarchy don't really be makin' sense, and people on Twitter who compared the Monarchy to the KKK and were not phased by their racism. It's a lot. It's layered. Let's dig into it! Also, thank God for Oprah. Please note this was recorded before Prince Philip passed away.

Calling all Jon Bellion fans! Imia needed a moment to talk about her love for Jon Bellion and we're doing just that. She talks about how he weaves his love for God into pop music, his storytelling, the behind the scenes moments he gives his fans, and how passionate and genuine he is. We also geek out over how amazing it is to see how musicians' minds work / their creative processes and we decide to create an album of our own. Take a listen to hear what we'll call it!

Paige really needed a moment to talk all about Mariah Carey's memoir, The Meaning of Mariah Carey. Mimi divulges many stories about her family, racism, her marriage to Tommy Mottola, and of course, the music, and in this episode Paige discusses her favorite pivotal moments. We also discuss our personal frustrations with our own clothes. We can't wait until we're celebrities and can have all our clothes tailored to our bodies! ;)

We also dig into conversation about people's views on Beyonce's "Blackness," her activism, and that it's racist she hasn't won the Grammy for album of the year yet!
