Why Did He Cry?

The days will come upon you when your enemies will build an embankment against you and encircle you and hem you in on every side. They will dash you to the ground, you and the children within your walls. They will not leave one stone on another, because you did not recognize the time of God’s coming to you.”"
1. Jesus wept because of rootless belief.
Verse 38: "Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord!" "Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!"
Psalm 80: 9 You cleared the ground for it, and it took root and filled the land.
2. Jesus wept because they couldn’t see what they suppose to see.
John 11:33 When Jesus saw her weeping, and the Jews who had come along with her also weeping, he was deeply moved in spirit and troubled.

Our Isolation & God's Presence

Because God is with us.....
1. He gives us comfort
John 14: 16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you ad be with you forever.
Psalm 4:8 I will lie down and sleep in peace, for you alone, O LORD, make me dwell in safety.
Isaiah 41:10 So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
2. He cheers for us
Psalm 16:8-10 I have set the LORD always before me. Because he is at my right hand, I will not be shaken. Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will rest secure, because you will not abandon me to the grave, nor will you let your Holy One see decay.
3. He makes us go through
Isaiah 43:2 When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.
Philippians 1:6 being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

Our Future & God's Faithfulness
Joshua 1:9 "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go."
1. God knows the future.
Hebrews 4:13 "Nothing in all creation is hidden from God's sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before His eyes."
2. God has a plan for your future.
Jeremiah 29:11 "`I know the plans I have for you,' declares the Lord, `Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.'"
3. God will be with you every step of the way in the future.
Hebrews 13:5 `...Never will I leave you. Never will I forsake you.'"
2 Timothy 2:13 "If we are faithless He will remain faithful, for He cannot disown Himself."
1. We have to hold on the God’s faithfulness when we are confused.
Proverbs 3:5-6 "Trust in the Lord with all your heart. Never rely on what you think you know. Remember the Lord in everything you do and He will show you the right way."
2. We have to hold on to God’s faithfulness when we go through difficult time.
Isaiah 42:2-3 "When you go through deep waters and great trouble I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. When you walk through the fires of oppression you will not be burned up for I am the Lord your God."

Acts 14: 1-7 "At Iconium Paul and Barnabas went as usual into the Jewish synagogue. There they spoke so effectively that a great number of Jews and Greeks believed. But the Jews who refused to believe stirred up the other Gentiles and poisoned their minds against the brothers. So Paul and Barnabas spent considerable time there, speaking boldly for the Lord, who confirmed the message of his grace by enabling them to perform signs and wonders. The people of the city were divided; some sided with the Jews, others with the apostles. There was a plot afoot among both Gentiles and Jews, together with their leaders, to mistreat them and stone them. But they found out about it and fled to the Lycaonian cities of Lystra and Derbe and to the surrounding country, where they continued to preach the gospel."
