Jake is an authorized Google Apps for Education Trainer and is currently the Technology Integration Specialist for Brady Middle School in the Orange City School District. At Brady, Jake helps manage the implementation of Google Apps, 1:1 Chromebooks and Schoology, while working with a team to envision the building’s future integration of STEM, Fab Labs and MakerSpaces. He is a member of the Lead to Learn Project Core Team, which was recently awarded a $750,000 ODE Straight A Grant to further the school’s efforts in 21st Century Learning through innovation, design thinking and project based learning with access to a FabLab, MakerSpace, and other design resources.

He previously taught and co-created a middle school STEM Program at Kimpton Middle School in Stow-Munroe Falls, Ohio. Prior to that he taught 9 years of math and science in various grades. His Bachelor’s Degree is in middle-level education (math/science) from the University of Akron and his Master’s Degree is in Instructional Technology from Kent State University.

Jake has presented in the past at many conferences including the Chromebook Institute Great Lakes, the SPARCC Education Conference, the ITIP Ohio Summit featuring Google Apps for Education, the NEOTech Conference, the OCTM Conference, the OAESA Conference, the KEEP Academy, the NEOTIE Conference, the Cuyahoga ESC LEAD Conference and the OMLA Conference.  He has keynoted professional learning experiences for the Akron City School District (The Teach. Tech. Transform. Summit) and Cardinal Local School District.  He has also led professional developments for many area school districts and is the Technology Consultant for the Martha Holden Jennings grant-funded projects Writing Ourselves 1, 2 and 3.

Ken holds an M.A. in Education in Educational Technology as well as New Media Design and Production. He has keynoted at education events around the world, including nearly every state in the United States. Ken has a long lineage in education, his father was the chief business officer and assistant superintendent for the Los Angeles County Office of Education and worked in two other county offices. One of Ken’s grandfathers and his maternal grandmother were educators.

Ken likes to say “the importance of education was instilled in my family on both sides many generations ago”.

Ken’s keynote will focus on educational equity, with a focus on the role that edtech can play in leveling the playing field for all students.

Tracey Tokuhama-Espinosa -

CUE is proud to announce one of the two keynotes for Spring CUE 2020, Tracey Tokuhama-Espinosa, a world-renowned leader and speaker – education expert who leads by example and her practical expertise will inspire.

Tracey Tokuhama-Espinosa is the author of eight books on mind, brain, and education science, and dozens of articles related to this nascent field. Her most recent works are Neuromyths (2018) and The Five Pillars of the Mind (2019). She currently conducts educational research with the Latin American Faculty for Social Science in Ecuador (FLACSO) in Quito. She is a former member of the Organisation for Economic Co-Operation and Development (OECD) expert panel to redefine teachers’ new pedagogical knowledge due to contributions from technology and neuroscience.

Tracey Tokuhama-Espinosa has taught kindergarten through university and works with schools, universities, governments, and non-governmental organizations in over forty countries around the world.

She is the former director of the Institute for Teaching and Learning (IDEA) and director of online learning at the Universidad San Francisco de Quito, and founding dean of education at the American University in Quito (Universidad de las Americas). Her office seeks to improve the quality of education through research, teacher training, and student support. Her current research focuses on the integration of mind, brain, and education science into teachers’ daily practice and professional development; changes in preschool math and pre-literacy skills based on neuroconstructivism; multilingualism; and the leveraging of technology to enhance learning outcomes.

Tracey Tokuhama-Espinosa -

CUE is proud to announce one of the two keynotes for Spring CUE 2020, Tracey Tokuhama-Espinosa, a world-renowned leader and speaker – education expert who leads by example and her practical expertise will inspire.

Tracey Tokuhama-Espinosa is the author of eight books on mind, brain, and education science, and dozens of articles related to this nascent field. Her most recent works are Neuromyths (2018) and The Five Pillars of the Mind (2019). She currently conducts educational research with the Latin American Faculty for Social Science in Ecuador (FLACSO) in Quito. She is a former member of the Organisation for Economic Co-Operation and Development (OECD) expert panel to redefine teachers’ new pedagogical knowledge due to contributions from technology and neuroscience.

Tracey Tokuhama-Espinosa has taught kindergarten through university and works with schools, universities, governments, and non-governmental organizations in over forty countries around the world.

She is the former director of the Institute for Teaching and Learning (IDEA) and director of online learning at the Universidad San Francisco de Quito, and founding dean of education at the American University in Quito (Universidad de las Americas). Her office seeks to improve the quality of education through research, teacher training, and student support. Her current research focuses on the integration of mind, brain, and education science into teachers’ daily practice and professional development; changes in preschool math and pre-literacy skills based on neuroconstructivism; multilingualism; and the leveraging of technology to enhance learning outcomes.
