Championing Disability Rights: The Outini's on Journalism and DateKeepers' Journey
Itto Outini is an international journalist, Fulbright scholar, human rights activist, accessibility advocate, and author of the forthcoming memoir Blindness is the Light of My Life. She holds an MA in journalism and strategic media from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, has practiced print and radio journalism in the US and Morocco, and has been invited to speak for organizations including Cal Tech University, Verizon Wireless, and North Seattle College.
Her work experience spans the for- and non-profit sectors and includes a stint with the United Nations Development Programme. In 2021, she founded Fulbrighters with Disabilities, a global, virtual chapter of the Fulbright Association dedicated to supporting students and scholars with disabilities around the world. In June of 2022, she made history by co-chairing a panel at the 15th Session of the Conference of State Parties to the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. That same year, her life story was featured on BBC Outlook, and she and her husband, Mekiya Outini, co-founded The DateKeepers, an international media platform committed to publishing independent journalism, showcasing untold stories, and highlighting well-lived lives, especially those of people with disabilities, advocates, and allies worldwide.
Mekiya Outini is a writer and co-founder of the DateKeepers, an international media platform. He earned his MFA in fiction from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, and his short stories, essays, and poems have appeared in outlets such as Chautauqua Literary Journal, the Michigan Quarterly Review, and Willow Springs, respectively. His unpublished novel, Ashes, Ashes, has been selected as a finalist or semi-finalist in several contests, including the Chanticleer Somerset Awards, and its first two chapters were published in the West Trade Review. He lives with his partner in business and life, Itto Outini, in Kansas City, MO.

Driving Charitable Impact: Insights from Pamela Norley, Former President of Fidelity Charitable
As president of Fidelity Charitable®, Pamela Norley was a leading voice in advocating for the power of American philanthropy across the world. Fidelity Charitable, the leading U.S. grantmaker, has granted more than $51 billion to more than 325,000 nonprofit organizations since 1991,1 advancing the philanthropic intentions of nearly a quarter of a million donors at all income levels. In 2020, Fidelity Charitable donors recommended $9.1 billion in grants to local, national and global causes. During Ms. Norley’s tenure, Fidelity Charitable’s annual grantmaking more than doubled, supporting the organization’s mission to make charitable giving accessible, simple and effective. Ms. Norley is a frequent speaker on the topics of philanthropic trends and leadership. Today she also serves on three non profit boars and the Fidelity Institutional Assett Management Board.
Prior to leading Fidelity Charitable, Ms. Norley held a number of executive leadership roles at Fidelity Investments®, including head of Enterprise Relationships and Talent Groups, where she managed Fidelity’s top institutional client relationships and led the talent management and recruiting organizations, and leading the Fidelity Consulting Group, where she oversaw strategy and consulting support to all Fidelity businesses, including its global private equity and venture capital units. Prior to that, she played a key role in launching Fidelity’s Corporate Business Development Group, supporting mergers, acquisitions and strategic alliances. Ms. Norley joined Fidelity in the Corporate Legal department in 1996 after working in the legal department of Bank of America, and held a series of roles leading business compliance and health care product management and sales for Fidelity’s outsourcing businesses.
Outside of the office, Ms. Norley volunteers her time as Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors for Points of Light, the largest global volunteer organization established by President George H.W. Bush, and is a Trustee of the College Foundation Board at the University of Virginia. She also serves on the boards of the U.S. Impact Investing Alliance, Research Triangle Park Foundation and the Flying Kites School Network.

Embracing Career Reentry: Insights from Retired Tech Executive, Jennifer P. Howland

Errol Barnett is an award-winning CBS News anchor and national correspondent based at the network’s headquarters in New York City. As the only Black-British broadcaster on American television, he holds a distinct perspective on global events through a reporting career spanning more than two decades and five continents. Barnett appears regularly across all CBS News programs and platforms and has anchored a number of CBS Special Reports. AidKit brings human-centered design and software expertise to the task of empowering, not replacing, the efforts of nonprofits and government agency staff. AidKit spun out of the Left Behind Workers Fund, a pandemic relief program that delivered millions in direct aid to workers without documentation in Colorado. Our cofounders built features and automations to accelerate impact and efficiency in the program and soon began receiving inquiries from other organizations looking to overcome the many challenges programs face when trying to deliver cash assistance. In 2021, AidKit launched to enable emerging direct cash and guaranteed income programs across the country at scale.

She is a member of the Board of Trustees of Save the Children International, and Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee; and Save the Children U.S., where she is the Chair of the Finance Committee. She was a founding partner of Liberty Square Asset Management, a majority woman-owned hedge fund with over $5 billion AUM (1998-2015) and before that a Partner of Grantham, Mayo, Van Otterloo & Co where she led the International Equity division (1985-1996). Ms. McGetrick began her investment career in non-US equities as an analyst for The Commonfund for International Investments. She has also served on the Investment Committee for Partners Healthcare System (2010-2019). She was previously on the Board and Investment committees of several educational institutions including Providence College, The Wheeler School, Friends Academy and Our Sister School. Ms. McGetrick graduated from Providence College with a BS in Psychology and Business Management, and holds a MS in Finance from Fairfield University. Bill Abrams, Former President of Trickle Up
Bill Abrams served as President of Trickle Up for 16 years, from 2005-2021. Trickle Up’s reach, impact, and influence grew dramatically during his tenure. He joined Trickle Up in 2005, following a career as a senior executive and journalist for The New York Times, ABC News, and The Wall Street Journal.
Bill currently is a Senior Fellow at InterAction, an association of US-based international NGOs, and served on its board for six years. Alan Patricof, Founder of APAX Partners
Alan Patricof grew up in a Jewish family on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, New York City, the son of parents who had immigrated from Russia to the United States. His father was a small-time stockbroker Patricof graduated from the Ohio State University in 1955, and earned an M.B.A. from Columbia University in 1957 while working full-time as an analyst for an investment firm.
Patricof was assigned the management of the Gottesman pulp and paper fortune.and focused his efforts on the new private companies in the portfolio.In 1967, he invested in New York magazine, a new publication, where he served as the founding chairman of the board.m] The magazine proved a success.[1] In 1969, he was able to raise $2.5 million and founded one of the first venture capital firms, Patricof Company Ventures. In 1977, he founded the private equity firm Apax Partners.
By the mid-1990s Apax had become one of the larger private equity firms globally. In 2001, Patricof stepped back from day-to-day management of the firm, to return to his original focus on venture capital investments in small early-stage companies. In 2006, he left Apax to form Greycroft Partners which focuses on such investments.
Patricof has been married twice: Bette Patricof Hollander.[ They later divorced. They had one child: Mark F. Patricof (b. 1964) who is married to Martha Shelburne Jones, a daughter of Anne Shelburne Jones and Bishop Edward Witker Jones, the 9th bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Indianapolis His second marriage was to Susan Hatkoff.She is the sister of Craig Hatkoff. Michael Mwenso, Bandleader, Activist, Curator and Entrepreneur
Michael Mwenso was born in Freetown, Sierra Leone but spent his teenage years hanging out at the legendary jazz club Ronnie Scott’s in London where he was exposed to musicians such as Betty Carter, Elvin Jones, Ray Brown and Cedar Walton. In his youth, Mwenso started honing his talents as a trombonist, singer and performer playing in swing bands, reggae and Afrobeat horn sections. Mwenso’s talent as a performer caught the attention of many, which subsequently led him to meet James Brown who allotted space for him to sing and dance at his London shows. In 2012, friend and jazz musician Wynton Marsalis brought Mwenso to New York City to serve as curator and programming associate at Jazz at Lincoln Center where he also booked nightly sets at Dizzy’s Club Coca-Cola. Over the next few years, Mwenso also booked throughout the institution at large. Through these performances at Dizzy’s, Mwenso began to collaborate with a wide variety of Juilliard trained musicians that soon became known as The Shakes. This unique group of global artists presents music that merges entertainment and artistry through African and Afro-American music. In addition, Mwenso continues to break new ground as a cultural ambassador and artist in residence at various universities. Driven by Mwenso’s deep ancestral understanding of the African-American music tradition, his role at these Universities is to not only teach numerous classes on Black music but grow the arts scene within their local community while creating more programming focusing on Black artists. Through this work, Mwenso has partnered with Penn State University, Georgia Tech, Miami University, University at Buffalo and Sonoma State University as a guest professor and cultural ambassador of Black music. Michael is a sought-after cultural curator as well as a master at distributing the spiritual nutrition inherent in Black music with Electric Root, the mission-driven company he co-leads with Jono Gasparro.
