Movement Coordination - Roundtable 02
What foundational elements of coordination can help to align distinct movements into a more unified context? What are we moving away from and what are we moving towards? What is the 'long arc of history' that connects our different movements?
Sheri Herndon, Jeff Genung, and Richard Flyer help us answer these questions in a strategic dialogue that reveals lessons from past movements and insights from many distinct bodies of work that can shape and inform our United Independent organizing.
This dialogue highlights movement leaders and movement weavers who are working to make our world more beautiful for future generations. Listen for the common threads between each movement to identify where we might be able to work together for a shared purpose.

The Cooperation Playbook with Jeff Genung
On today's episode, I am joined by Jeff Genung. Jeff is the Managing Director, Chief Architect and trustee of ProSocial.World, a nonprofit organization, whose mission is to consciously evolve a world that works for all.
Jeff is carrying and stewarding the playbook of collaboration, the base code of how human beings come together across different context and ideologies to work together to improve the quality of life of their community. One of the things that makes ProSocial so special, which I think you'll see in this episode, is that it is a methodology that any community can use to achieve its own goals, connect more to its own sense of meaning, and work through some of the deep challenges that have prevented us from collaborating as human beings at scale in the past. And so I'm really looking forward to sharing this episode with you. It feels like part of the foundation of the Independent Movement is how do we use these new tools to practice the ancient art of collaboration.

Celebrating Humanity with Karla Ballard
Welcome to RISE: The United Independent Podcast. Together, we’re rising above the division and fear of our current political landscape towards a civic culture of unity, stewardship and effective care for the places we call home.
On today’s episode I’m joined by Karla Ballard.
Karla is the founder and CEO of YING, a P2P Group Skillsharing™ platform. In 2020, Karla ran on the Independent ticket as a VP candidate alongside blockchain activist and philanthropist Brock Pierce in the 2020 Presidential election.
Prior to that, Karla has served in high level roles across several industries, serving as SVP of Participant Media’s TAG division, a social-action agency that drove impact through media campaigns in vulnerable communities. At One Economy Corporation she led a $51 million grant focused on broadband adoption and became an appointee to the Federal Communications Committee on Diversity in Media.
Karla is also the co-founder of the first Urban League in the state of Delaware, The Metropolitan Wilmington Urban League, and served as the first female national president of the National Urban League Young Professionals.
But more than her credentials, Karla is a powerful heart-centered leader whose voice speaks from and through a wide range of backgrounds and experiences. In this episode, she speaks to the soul of America, how she came to find her Independent Voice, and what it takes for us to rewire polarization in service to fighting for love.=
Along with Christopher Life, she is the co-host of the 2022 Independent National Convention.
