Join Tommy as he interviews Tía Laída Fé. Tia, also known as Candace M. Younghans. Tia is a 10 year community member of Ashland, Oregon, a performance artist, and true nature advocate. In the wake of the fire, Tia founded the Longer Term Secure Short Term (LTSST) housing effort. The LTSST housing effort works to identify and match families whose homes burned down with available, unused and under-utilized livable spaces such as AirBNBs, guest homes and in-law flats. Learn how you can support her efforts to help those who have found themselves houseless right before the winter due to the fire.

On September 8, 2020 the Almeda Fire tore through our community here in Southern Oregon destroying over a hundred businesses and thousands of homes. In response to the widespread destruction, our community has come together in ways that are both humbling and inspiring. There’s a lot of work to be done, and a lot of great people out here doing it. Join me as I meet these every day heroes and listen as they share their stories of resilience, creativity and hope. Who knows, you may just be inspired yourself.
