The challenge I face in living a life like this is that I can fall into a trap of never feeling good enough, that the best version of me is just around the corner. You Are Not Your Thoughts

When I was a young girl, my imagination would turn dark as the sun went down. I'd lay in my bed, paralyzed with fear thinking of scary creatures lurking around my room. Eventually, I'd muster the courage to scream for my dad. He'd come in and turn the light in. Instant relief would flood through my little body as I returned to reality, out of the thoughts that so easily swallowed me whole. And over the years, they continued to do so. Over and over again, always returning. And they still do, but I have a secret weapon; one that allows me to befriend my thoughts and mind. One that invites harmony. It is the simple idea that I am not my thoughts. And that is what this episode is all about.

In early 2021 I decided to dive into the belly of all beasts and hire someone to guide me through my shadows. Since then, I've worked with two incredible women (listen to episodes 8 + 14) who held the space and support for me to explore the dark pieces lurking deep within me. Since this work, my life has quite literally never been the same. I am able to sit in the darkest corners of myself and feel safe, loving and curious.
