This Poem's For You
By Pride Poets
The five-part series highlights the work of Pride Poets–a troupe of LGBTQ+ poets led by West Hollywood’s City Poet Laureate Brian Sonia Wallace. Since 2019, Pride Poets have written hundreds of original poems for people like you in person at Pride events, and safely throughout the pandemic on a poetry hotline.
No matter where you're at in your life, there's a poem for that, and this poem's for you.

For the Moment Before Everything Falls Into Place
How much can change in three years? A throwback to the very first year of Pride Poets, our guest Jazz has a poem that captured his need for love and acceptance at the time; a poem that ushered in a new era of growth and change. Since 2019, Pride Poets has brought LGBTQ+ poets to write poems on typewriters for members of the public during Pride in West Hollywood and around the country, creating over 1,000 original poems based on living LGBTQ+ histories that participants shared with us.
