Episode 158: Ode to Opposites
This episode is the culmination of everything that has been coming together for me in the collision of writing my own story and reflecting on the stories of the people I have worked with. What are you doing or not doing in your life out of the response that you are going to do it differently then others (your parents, those people, that group etc.). What agreements and commitments have you made to be opposite then "them" and because of that have not found your true form, true voice, true role in the story of your life? What if we committed to lives that weren't lived out of a response to everything that has happened to us? Is that even possible? How can look rivet by rivet at the container of our lives to see what is there and serving us and what is there because it always been, or what is there because we promised ourselves when we were 8 that we would never be that way ... your life and legacy deserve inspection, deserve a thorough inventory. So you can say how it goes, so you can come into thorough autonomy and your rite to adulthood on your terms. Would love to know what you think about this ... Cheers, Elyse

Episode 157: Landscape of Mothers
In this episode of Trailercast I had the honor and privilege of interviewing Jill Doneen Clifton. Jill is the author of Landscape of Mothers, a book brought into my life by destiny and of course, Amazon. And because I loved it so, I reached out to Jill to see if she would come on and chat with us. I'm so glad she said yes. This conversation is rich and beautiful, and certainly not just for mothers (although moms, we see you.)
In Jill's own words, "Landscape of Mothers is a map of the places in your inner world that can help you reclaim yourself inside your role of mother. The landscapes are the map locations: sun and moon, wind, desert, island, mountain, river, forest, and ocean. Each location has a gift that is important for mothering. For instance, Wind Mother has the gift of trust, Forest Mother’s gift is belonging, and River Mother’s gift is purpose. Just like when you take a vacation, Landscape of Mothers offers a directory of possibilities, but doesn’t determine your experience. There are “itineraries” to choose from, but the experience is your own to create."
Wherever you are on your journey, I hope you find the same encouragement and inspiration in this conversation that I did. Jill, thank you. It was a gift to have you on.
You can find Jill on her website or Instagram, and purchase Landscape of Mothers via Amazon.

Episode 156: Skydiving and Snowflake
“I am who I say I am. Everything else is story.”
Welcome back to Trailercast! In this episode I reflect on two separate stories: a sweet bedtime moment with one of my kiddos and an epic risk taking turn of events. There are times in our lives that provide us with such clarity, it can be startling. Reflect with me on those life events, those moments where we collide with destiny and everything becomes clear. The moments where everything reconfigures. And then, the gift after collision. Identity and names. The truth of ourselves.
No one has the right to tell you who you are. Who do YOU say you are? Who do you want to be? Who do you get to be?
“I am who I say I am. Everything else is story.”

Episode 155: Coin Sorter
If you are new to these visualization practices, think of them as a way to engage in something outside of just our thinking. An action to partner with our thinking, so that we can access it easier and remember it more clearly. The body and the brain partnering together.
Whatever it is that you are facing this week, my hope is that this practice can help you move forward in the possibility that you already are. Cheers!
www.elysesnipes.com

Episode 154: Depths and Currents
Welcome to this week's episode! Today I reflect on the ocean, a place of deep symbolism for me. A place where I have always gone to seek solace. A place that has taught me so much over the years.
Here I talk about depths and currents and waves and getting swept away, as well as deciding when it's time to stop struggling. Understanding that we don't always have to fight against the current. We can get out and start again.
This episode is also about awareness. About the fact that what is happening on the surface isn't always the full story. There is always more happening underneath. It's about slipping below the surface and the stories that we tell ourself, and finding what lies below.
Cheers!

Episode 153: (Solo Episode) Fire, calamity, being a victim and my dryer ...
New episode in real time about real things and I hope it is something that connects to your real life as you live it, without the frills and packaging, but just as it is. This episode is a waking up, a remembering and a fierce determination to stop making myself the victim. Long story short, my husband was called out to a wild fire in Northern California and everything I was trying to hold together fell apart, even my dryer. So, here I am, spilling my guts back into wholeness, seeing my patterns and finding a new way forward. What does this episode communicate to you? What did you hear? What did you need to hear? And what are you going to do now? Cheers,
Elyse

Episode 152: Homecoming + Complex Trauma

Episode 151: Questions From Therapy This Week
Hi there! Welcome! Today's Trailercast is a solo episode where I'm putting on my licensed marriage and family therapist hat. I love this work, getting to witness others in their growth and healing. Getting to witness people seeing themselves clearly, sometimes for the first time. In this episode, I reflect on some questions and themes that have been coming up within my therapy practice lately. As you listen, my hope is that you use these questions and thoughts as tools for you yourself. Run them through your own story. Ask yourself, how did I get here? And what is true for me now?
I am so grateful for the opportunity to connect with you through this podcast. It has gone from a creative outlet, to a place of true and intimate connection. It has been more than I have ever imagined. If you have questions around your own therapy or coaching work, please don’t hesitate to reach out. And if you are ready to get started in your own healing journey, the best thing I could ever recommend is Radical Wellness Collaborative. We would love to walk alongside you. Cheers.

Episode 150: A Conversation with Kristen
I know I've said it before, but I'll say it again, I absolutely love these Trailercast conversations with you, my listeners. Today's episode is no exception. I love being coconspirators with you in this work, seeing where the conversation takes us and leaning into healing together. What I want you to know is this: that healing can happen anywhere. It just so happens that you can listen to it happening here, in these conversations or in the work of therapy, but it can also happen at home or in the ocean or in relationship or on a hike. It happens all the time, everywhere, and for everyone. That is what I want you to think about as you listen to this episode and finish out this week. Healing is always available to you.
In this episode you get to meet the amazing Kristen. She is a fellow therapist who specializes in work around body image and disordered eating. And in this conversation she opens up and gets vulnerable, sharing what it is like to navigate body change of her own, while helping others find their freedom. We have a beautiful conversation about returning home to our bodies, and it was an inspiring conversation to be a part of and listen back to. My hope is that you listen to this conversation with an open heart, and allow it to take you where you need to go like we did.
If you want to find out more about Kristen's work, you can find her on IG @wildandweightless, where she talks about finding freedom from negative body image through outdoor activity.

Episode 149: A Conversation with Kirsty
Welcome back to another Trailercast Conversation! As always, I'm honored to share this episode with you. Today you'll get to meet Kirsty. Brave, bold and incredibly insightful Kirsty. She shares with us her journey and experience with being diagnosis with Bipolar II disorder. What led up to the diagnosis, what it felt like to reach out for help, the process of diagnosis and what life is like now, on medication and living a life of wholeness. Her journey is incredibly inspiring, and takes us from suffering and fear to ultimately, comfort and clarity. In Kirsty you meet a real person opening up about real life, letting us in on an important conversation.
Kirsty also offers us beautiful insights into the therapeutic relationship and process. If you are listening to this episode, and find that you are inspired to begin work in therapy, my team at Radical Wellness would love to be here for you this summer! Your are always invited to reach out and get started. Feel free to reach out with any questions!
Cheers.

Episode 148: A Trailercast conversation not to be missed
In this episode you'll meet an amazing woman and survivor of abuse, who shares with us her story in freedom and strength. Hear a woman standing in her power, and the absolute resolute resilience that comes from not abandoning yourself or your truth. Hear us explore the concepts of forgiveness and letting go. Listen in for the bread crumbs of truth and wisdom dropped throughout our entire conversation, and ask yourself, what strength can I borrow here? Let this conversation stir you to ask the questions and talk about the hard things. Because what you'll learn here is this, that there is good life on the other side of the work. And you are worthy of the good stuff.
Cheers.

Episode 142: A Conversation with Michelle
In this Trailercast conversation I had the honor of sitting down with Michelle and hearing her story and her experience of loss and grief. What you do with it, what you don’t do with it, what you don’t say about it, what you could say. She has faced so much with extreme bravery and grace, and I’m so grateful she chose to share her process with us here.
I think you are going to glean so much from her about the human experience and what we can learn when bad things happen. And then happen again. And again.
Make sure to listen to the end to hear about the beautiful way in which Michelle has channeled her experience into something pretty amazing and life-giving. You can find out more about her and Finn the Panda here, and connect with her on Instagram at @finnandcogifts
Are you looking to find places of clarity and connection? I’d love to have you as a guest on Trailercast! Just like this episode with Michelle, we will move through your story and find the places where you can see yourself accurately and clearly. You can apply to be on the show here!
Cheers,
Elyse

Episode 141: A Conversation with Kelli
In this Trailercast conversation you get to listen in as I talk with Kelli. When we were first supposed to record, technology did its thing and we ended up having to reschedule. But, I am so excited for you to hear what happened in the in-between from when we were supposed to record, and when we actually did. About the growth that Kelli experienced.
How does looking in the shower and seeing soap lead to a transformation? Kelli shares the most relatable story and so much more. Quarantine, worthiness, the mother/daughter relationship, parenting and a true mirror… we hit on it all. There is so much beautiful and truth in this conversation. My hope is that you can find yourself in her story and claim the truth that Kelli has shared with us here. You ARE worthy.
Cheers.

Trailercast Episode 140 - You are the one holding the pen
As I have been writing my book, feels so weird to even say that, I have noticed there are some major gaps in what I needed to hear growing up. Good news, I am the one writing the story this time, the one holding the pen. So I can say those things, so can you. This episode weaves through some of the ideas behind therapy and how it functions, early messaging and how to shift roles in your story. I also share with you some statements or declarations of things I have been holding on to as I write that might be something you try on for yourself. I hope you feel and know in your bones that everything belongs, every story deserves sunshine, you are the one holding the pen.
If you are interested in doing your own narrative work with me, I have a few spots left for the private retreats I host, all information can be found on my website: www.elysesnipes.com/weekends
Cheers!
Elyse

Episode 139: A Conversation with Sophie
Welcome to another Trailercast conversation! This is a special episode, and I am so excited to share it with you.
In this episode, I’m talking with Sophie. Right off the bat I can tell you this; Sophie is a powerhouse. She wrote into the show wanting to process through, in her own words, “navigating shame, resilience and uncertainty in a time of great personal growth and transformation, especially as a young person in today’s society.” Throughout our conversation we tackle imposter syndrome, self-doubt and how to identify the inner critic. We talk about trusting our gut and our knowing, and the importance of sharing our stories. Listen in and hear how Sophie has learned to sit in the driver’s seat of her own life, and hear a young woman living into her own freedom and autonomy.
My hope is that you leave this conversation knowing that we need you and your story too. Your life is essential and your story is essential. We have so much to learn from one another.
Cheers.

Episode 138: A Conversation with April
When I started Trailercast, I wasn’t really sure what it was going to become. It was a creative outlet for me, and I knew that I loved it, but what I have really been so blown away by is how it has become a pretty amazing piece of connection to others. I love when listeners reach out, share their stories and let me know what parts of my story connect to parts of theirs. And I LOVE the opportunity to sit down with listeners in these Trailercast conversations.
In this episode, you get to meet April. I absolutely loved this conversation, and cannot wait to hear what you think. To hear what pieces of April’s beautiful story connect to yours. We talk about the big C (cancer,) motherhood, and repairing things along the way.
When you think that you are the only one, this podcast exists to remind you that you are not alone.
Cheers!

Episode 137: A Conversation with Rachel
In this episode of Trailercast we continue our conversations series with a very special mama who lives on the other side of the world. I had the privilege of sitting down and talking with Rachel, all the way in New Zealand, about what happens when you get the kind of news that you never hope to get. What happens when the thing that you never thought could happen, happens.
Right before the pandemic hit Rachel’s five year old son was diagnosed with leukemia. This is such an important conversation for anyone and everyone. My hope is that listening to Rachel share about her experience will ignite the empath in all of us, and teach us better how to sit with hard things well.
Rachel, thank you for sharing your story. Thank you for your courage and vulnerability, and for teaching us a better way to support the ones we love when the hard news hits close to home.

Episode 136: Interview with Radical Wellness Therapist Katie Hayden
This episode feels extra special, because I get to introduce you to my friend, my team member, Radical Wellness' own, Katie Hayden. Katie is a therapist, coach and licensed clinical social worker, and I have the privilege of working alongside her weekly.
Katie and I met when she came to Weekends, and I'm so thankful that she came because I cannot imagine the Radical Wellness team without her presence, her wisdom and her magic. Listening to Katie talk about life and therapy and her experience is like receiving a warm, reassuring hug. She is honest and real and vulnerable, and shares so much goodness with us here. Listen in as we chat all the things, from the personal to the professional, and about how you can experience being "wrapped up in your wholeness," as Katie so beautifully puts it.
Interested in working with Katie or our team at Radical Wellness? Visit our website or email hello@radicalwellness.co to get started!

Episode 135: Death, Ashes and Hope
One of the things that I have been practicing in 2021 is showing up in a pretty real and raw form. And I sense that we are all craving that authenticity these days. In this episode, join me as I process through something that happened last week, the memories and emotions that it triggered, and the beautiful truth that emerged as I worked through it.
Here we are going to be talking about what we are holding. We are going to be talking about death and grieving. And we are going to be talking about what is preventing us from actually receiving the thing that we need. The thing that is good and true and ours.
Join me in asking the question, “What is it that you are holding onto, and what might you be missing receiving because of that?” What beauty might occur if we could let go?
Cheers.

Episode 134: Making Adult Friends
We did it. We made it to the new year.
Last week I reached out to my Instagram community and asked “What would you like more of in 2021?” and one theme that came up time and time again was friendship. Adult friendships. How to make new friends as adults, how to navigate tricky friendship dynamics as adults, and to nourish and care for adult friendships, when there are so many more demands on our time than there was when we were younger.
So in this episode, as a fellow sojourner, I touch on just that! And not only I dive into the topic of friendship, I also do some checking-in, reflecting, dreaming and offer a bit of encouragement as we step into this new season.
Cheers!

Episode 133: Trailercast 2020 Wrap Up
Welcome to this very special episode of Trailercast!
Today we are going to take some time to say a “goodbye” to 2020 and reflect on all that this unprecedented year has been for us, both collectively and individually. We look at rules vs. rituals, and the importance of how rest fits into the whole picture as we head into a new year. We ask, how can we move out of 2020 and into 2021 in a way that feels the most honest and kind and true to ourselves? How do we maintain and hold onto who we are in this next season? What was 2020 like for you?
Join me in an exercise as we scan through the months and ask ourselves the good/hard questions. What do you need to leave in 2020? And what do you need for 2021? This special new years episode isn’t about hustling harder or setting strict rules for ourselves, but rather, about moving through our lives in the most beautiful, loving and free way we that can. We get to choose.
Thank you, dear listeners, for tuning in this and going on this journey with me this year. I’m forever thankful for you. Cheers!

Episode 132: The Highly Sensitive Person Interview with Dr. Tracy Cooper and Andy Lara
And in addition to giving great information on HSPs, this episode also highlights how helpful it is when we are given the right language for our lived experience. How it can set us free to discover that we are not alone in the way we process the world. This episode gives a great example about what can happen when people get curious about their own human experience, and all the different ways that we get to be free.
You can find out more about Dr. Cooper's work on his website, and take the Highly Sensitive Person test here, on the website of Dr. Elaine N. Aron, Ph.D.

Episode 131: A Conversation with Naomi
We also talk about the double edge sword of awareness. How when we do enough of our own work and become aware of our own “stuff,” it can be both liberating and at times exhausting. How do we receive the invitation of awareness without also RSVPing to shame? How do we move from awareness into action and liberation?
Part of my main focus is helping women stand in their own power and be witnessed. To hold up a mirror and reflect back all that glory. This is part of the work of Weekends. If you’ve ever been curious about what we do there, or if it’s something you’d like to be a part of, this is the episode for you.

Episode 130: Bonus Episode- The Holiday Survival Guide!
This Trailercast episode is all about the holidays and how to best show up as our authentic, healthy selves this season. This is a loaded time of year in so many ways, with all of the “supposed-tos” and “have-tos” and the way our old family stuff often seems to be highlighted and intensified. It can be a lot.
Explore with me some creative ideas and practical exercises you can do to maintain internal peace and stay true to yourself this season, even if things start to feel out of your control or expectations. Let’s explore what is needed in order for you to feel the most yourself in the midst of it all... approaching the holidays at peace, free and capable of showing up well.
You get to decide.
If you are listening to this episode and thinking that it might be helpful to enlist a little extra support during the holidays, a friendly reminder that my team at Radical Wellness is here for you. Reach out to hello@radicalwellness.co to find out more.

Episode 129 - Interview with Jessy Munch
Welcome to Trailercast!
I am so happy to share this special episode with you. Today you get to meet my incredibly cool and inspiring friend Jessy, and hear an amazing story of resilience.
Jessy is a motocross mama who endured a traumatic brain injury a few years ago, and is now learning to live in total freedom within her new reality. Her life has completely changed since her accident, but as you’ll hear in our conversation, Jessy lives with an incredible attitude and outlook. She is a beautiful example of someone moving through the world with purpose and intention, and offers us so much wisdom on advocating for yourself and living life fully alive.
You can find Jessy at her blog: jessymunch826.com

Episode 128: A Conversation about Weekends in Malibu
This episode of Trailercast is extra special, because I got to sit down and have a round table discussion with some of the ladies who attend the most recent Weekends retreat in Malibu! Listen in as we have too much fun talking about our experiences and take-aways from our time together.
These women are amazing. I’m so glad you get to hear from them. If you’ve ever wondered if Weekends or an intensive retreat is right for you, this episode is for you.
Cheers!

Episode 127 - A Conversation with Leith
I knew that I had to have Leith on to share her story with you. Especially now, in the context of 2020 and the massive amounts of chaos and turmoil this year has brought. At times it all feels impossible to navigate, and Leith’s story reminds us that even when it feels like we are in the shore pound and it just doesn’t stop, maybe there is something we can do about it. She shares with us the way that her family, in the midst of immense loss and pain, stopped and rebooted their lives completely. She reminds us that we don’t have to stay in the old story, that we can start over and build something new.
You can learn more about the work Leith does and connect with her at www.leithmchugh.com/ or on Instagram @leithmchugh

Episode 126: A Conversation with Krystal
This episode reminds me that this really is meant to be a shared experience. Trailercast, the therapeutic journey, life… all of it.
If you want to find out more about Krystal and her self-realization coaching, you can find her at:

Episode 124: A Conversation with Jessie
In this episode you get to meet Jessie, and I just loved talking to her. We dive right into her story, beginning with a cancer diagnosis in high school. We talk about survival and healing and love. We talk about being a part of something bigger than ourselves and experiences where our stories cross and intersect with the divine. We touch on what is happening in her life now: on teaching and learning and living through this pandemic. We talk about her journey with trying to have a baby, and the truth that we are not alone on whatever path we find ourselves on.
Enjoy.

Episode 122 - Interview with Brit Barron aka my friend "Beans".
In this episode of Trailercast I get to sit down and talk to my good friend Brit Barron. Brit is an author, speaker, pastor, anti-racist educator and her first book Worth It is out now! Brit grew up in an Evangelical megachurch in the '90s, trying to fit neatly inside the boundaries her church and its narrow view of God had placed around her. She was boxed in by her fears, unable to realize her full potential. All that changed when she met a girl named Sami, fell in love, and chose to leave behind those narrow boundaries in favor of a fuller and more vibrant life.
In Worth It, Brit tells her story to inspire all of us to overcome our own fears--the kinds of fears that keep us from evolving beyond the narratives that have been handed to us by others. We can't avoid or outrun these fears, but if we face them, we'll find out that it was so worth it.
In this episode of Trailercast, you get to hear a sneak peak into Chapter 7, and listen in to us discuss the way that our lives intersected in such a way that brought us all more fullness and deeper freedom.

121 - Interview with Kayla Huszar
In this episode of Trailercast, I sit down with Kayla Huszar, and we talk all things motherhood. Raw, unscripted motherhood. Or, as Kayla so perfectly calls it, the motherload. The load is heavy. And Beautiful. And hard. And fun. And all the things in-between. Kayla, a mom of two young kiddos herself, offers postpartum support and expressive art therapy for moms. We talk about her work, the about the stories we tell ourselves surrounding motherhood, and how we can reframe being a mom in the light of being a human.
Even if you are not a mom yourself, I think you’ll benefit from this conversation when you consider your relationship with your own mom. We all have work to do around motherhood. My hope is that you leave this episode and conversation with Kayla feeling like I did… lighter and more at peace.

120 - A Conversation with Stu
This episode of Trailercast is a special one, because not only do I sit down and talk with the first male guest we’ve had in this new series of conversations, but also a dear friend of mine. In this episode you get to meet my friend, Stu. Stu and I have built a foundation of trust and honesty over the years, and that helps organically lead this conversation into more raw and vulnerable spaces as we talk about what this season of COVID has been like for him.
Listen in as we talk about how quarantine has affected his drive, his ideas around success, and what it looks like to give yourself grace, possibly for the first time in your life. Listen to a human being, being himself and in doing so, granting us permission to be ourselves too. Discover through this conversation that we can sit in discomfort, and still be okay. Witness honest, heart-to-heart work happening in real time.
Rainer Maria Rilke said “Love the questions in themselves,” and we dig into that idea in this conversation. The truth is, we as humans live in a space that is not always buttoned up or put together. But that is where the good stuff is. Those times where we resist or want to shut the door, but we stay and allow ourselves to be witnessed a little longer, those are the moments where love is let in. Enjoy this conversation between me and my friend, and reflect on where you find yourself in his story.

119 - A Conversation about Vaginas
Yep, you read that right! This episode of Trailercast is about vaginas.
Listen in as I sit down with a friend and we have a candid, brave and important conversation about her experience with what it is like to wait for marriage to have sex, and then physically not be able to because of vaginismus. This is such a needed conversation that often is only had behind closed doors, if at all. But we are meant to live fully integrated and whole. We need to be having more conversations about women’s bodies, women’s pleasure and women’s sexuality. We need to be creating safe community and spaces to talk about these things.
Full restoration and healing is possible in all things, including your sex life.
And as promised during the episode, here is a link to Dr. Celeste Holbrook, sexologist, speaker and author who has dedicated her life to helping women achieve soul-centered sex through perfectly planned mental and behavioral changes.

118 - A Conversation with Ashley
This episode is for anyone out there who might be feeling “stuck.” Ashley is a wife of ten years, a mom of two young boys and an accomplished teacher, who wrote into the show saying, “I have been feeling like there is so much more for my life and am struggling to get unstuck and be able to see what is next for me… I’d love to have a convo with you about how to finally get unstuck and see who I am made to be!” Can anyone relate? I know I can!
Ashely and I have an amazing conversation, and I’m so glad you get to listen in. We talk about purpose, passion, meaning and career. We throw the metaphorical spaghetti on the wall to see what might stick, and move from a scarcity mindset to a growth mindset as I help Ashley uncover the dreams that have been there all along. I hope this conversation gives you the permission to be free and think big, and then take action knowing you are so worth the life you want to live.

117 - A Conversation with Nicole
During this Trailercast conversation, you’ll get to meet Nicole. We jump right in feet first with Nicole describing an “a-ha” moment she had that came to her in the most ordinary of places on the most ordinary of days, but changed everything.
This conversation is jam-packed full of important truths and the kind of wisdom and self-awareness that comes when we dig in and do our work. Nicole has a strong inner-monologue, and speaks from a place of deep knowing. We touch on postpartum depression and motherhood, finding healing from childhood longing, and the heroes journey. My hope is that you walk away from listening to this conversation knowing that you are the main character of your own life, and that all the ingredients you need to find wholeness are already within you.

116 - A Conversation with Maggie
In this Trailercast conversation, you get to listen in on an intimate and important conversation as I sit down with my friend Maggie, and we pick right back up where we left off in a bar about a year ago in Denver.
At the time that we had this Trailercast conversation, we were in the thick of quarantine and Maggie was pregnant with her third. We begin our conversation by comparing the gestational period to the universal experience we’ve all had staying at home during this pandemic. We talk about all of the parallels that can be drawn between between being at home in our houses and at home in our bodies. The good, the hard, and everything in-between.
We talk about embodiment, and the painful stories we are given about our bodies. We talk about our mother tongue, and the voice that we speak to ourselves in. Is she loving? Is she critical? And we talk about inner kindness, and radical compassion for ourselves.
As you listen to this episode I hope you feel the fire of what it is like to watch a woman who is saying ‘yes’ to her own life, and ask yourself the question, “What things are developing within me that I’m not giving myself enough credit for?”
Cheers!

115 - A Conversation with Jen
This week’s Trailercast conversation is with Jen. I actually had the pleasure of getting to know Jen awhile back when she attended Weekends! Jen is a total boss and so much fun to talk to, and this conversation is so relatable. We talk about people-pleasing, the difference between invisibility and being unseen, and what it is like to be a woman in a professional space. We talk about remembering who we are, and the difference in knowing in our heads verses knowing in our gut. We talk about quarantine and boundaries and resilience and so much more.
And we talk about Weekends! We remember all of the great work that Jen began there and talk about what has happened in her life since. If you’ve ever been curious about attending Weekends and wanted a sneak peak into some of the work we do there, this conversation is for you! This conversation is jam-packed full of truths, and my hope is that something in Jen’s story connects to yours in such a way that you walk away feeling encouraged and seen.
If you are interested in attending Weekends this year, there are still a few spaces left for Weekends in Malibu this fall! Check out more here.

114 - A Conversation with BJ Hickman
I had the honor and pleasure of sitting down with a kindred spirit, BJ Hickman. BJ is an Emotional Wellness Master Coach and we had about a million things on the list of possible things we could talk about here, but decided to just jump right in and see where the conversation took us. And I’m so glad we did. There is magic to be found in the unplanned, messy middle and that is exactly what happens in this episode.
BJ and I explore everything from the enneagram, to attachment theory, to what it is like to change careers and start anew later in life. We talk about resilience and tenacity and the power in a name. My hope is that you walk away from listening in on this conversation with an inner rebellion of know that what has been doesn’t always have to be, and what could be is totally in your hands.
You can find BJ on Instagram @bjhickman and on her segment of the Selfie Podcast

113 - Entity Vs Action, Remembering, and Living the Good.
In this episode of Trailercast, I reflect on three different ideas, separate but related. First off, Entity vs Action. What happens when we pair action words to our identity? What happens when we build a lifestyle around our roles, and call that who we are? We often forget that we don’t have to earn our roles; that we already are. What would happen if we were able to find the distinction between “doing the thing” and “you already are the thing.” If we were to return to who we are, verses what we do.
And in that same vein, I explore the importance of remembering who we are. How do we learn to see ourselves in truth, and live in that clarity?
Lastly, we discuss the idea of living from the good. What would your life be like if you were to live from the best possible storyline? If you were to operate from a place of I AM GOOD? How would that change our relationships, both with ourselves and others? Experiment with giving yourself the benefit of the doubt that you made it. You are good.

112 - A Conversation with Terces
This episode you meet Terces. I cannot wait for you to listen to this conversation! It’s packed full of insight and wisdom. Terces and I have the honor of doing work together, and I think that you’ll find her to be an incredibly fascinating woman. She and her husband are the founders of Cafe Gratitude and Gracias Madre, plant-based restaurants, and they own, operate and live on Be Love Farm, a regenerative family farm. She speaks, she teaches, and she hosts the Unreasonably Grateful podcast.
In this episode, we talk about the ways that this season of quarantine has uncovered what was already there within us and given the gift of clarity. We talk about what the re-entering process might look like, and how we are going to hold onto the lessons learned over the past few months. How to not go back to the way things were before COVID, but rather start life anew. And we talk about the importance of not letting re-entering into the “old” way of life eclipse the clarity that is being gained in this season.

111 - Reflections: The Duality of Embodiment - The Body Remembers it ALL
In 2014 Bessel van der Kolk published The Body Keeps the Score about the affects of trauma on the body. It was and is a great bridge between the psychological community and the medical community, and is honestly a great book. But in this episode of Trailercast, we go a step further. Today I explore the ways that the body not only holds trauma, but also triumph.
The body holds it ALL.
Our job, is to remember both. To drop into our body and find the places where power, beauty and triumph reside. To pay attention to where the truth is. Our body also remembers this. Our job is to hold the both/and.
In this episode we take time to scan our bodies, noticing where resilience lives within us. And we discuss the ways that we can use that remembrance of what is good and triumphant within us as a tool whenever the stored trauma comes up. Your resilient self is alive and well. That is the self that what we want to reach for.

110 - A Conversation with D'Ann
When I put it out there on Instagram that I was looking for listeners who were willing to come on the show and have important, pivotal conversations with me, the very first person that reached out to me was D’Ann. She jumped into this conversation open, honest and ready to get in to the heart of things. She was the perfect first guest for this new style of conversations Trailercast episodes.
In the middle of this global experience that quarantine has been, D’Ann and I dive into the ways that this season has been getting to the lower layers and bringing to light dreams, desires and new ideas that were previously buried for her. D’Ann finds herself asking the question, “What else could there be? What could we build and create?” as she contemplates moving her family from the comfort of the life they’ve built in the suburbs of Portland, to the unknown adventure that could be waiting for them in the city.
We talk about trusting our gut and how to get grounded in a way that allows us to connect to and lead with our “knowing.” We dismantle the idea we should settle for “good enough.” That is is okay to want more of our own life. We talk about the difference between “crowdsourcing” and “crowdfunding” when it comes to making decisions. And together we pull out of her the truth that sometimes what we think feels like fear, is really a hunger and excitement for how good life could be if we are willing to trust ourselves.

Episode 106: Death. Or is it life?
Today's episode is extremely personal and extremely vital. I interview my friend who is dying. Given what we are facing as a global community we had considered for a fraction of a moment waiting on this episode ... but we both share a bit of the f*ck it's and decided if not now, when? Isn't this actually the best time? As people are actually awake and facing this reality with eyes open. The truth is, we are all facing death everyday. The other truth is that we don't talk about this stuff - death, dying, cancer ... unless we are personally affected by it and even then we fumble. I originally thought that maybe this episode would be a part of the taboo series I am doing, but I can't decide if death is the most taboo or the least taboo thing ever. It is our future, it is our shared reality, it is life when you really think about it. May this episode open you up, may it invite you into places and thoughts and feelings and memories you need to have. May it also be a catalyst, a comfort and an honest place for reflection.
"Evelyn", thank you. There aren't words that will cross the span of what I want to communicate to you for sharing yourself with me and all of us. I will take your words inside of me and weave them into my own story and live the sh*t out of it. Promise.

082: What’s the point of therapy?
What is the point of therapy? Today’s Trailercast Episode fields some hard hitting questions about therapy. What’s the point? How do you find a good therapist? How often should you go and who gets to decide that? When do you know that you’re done? I think the point of therapy is total restoration. I am not looking for partial healing. I expect things to get all the way better. Call me an optimist, but this is what I’m after. For me, for others, for anyone who wants to begin the journey home.
