stories about reforestation and changing the narrative🦋👩🌾👨🏽🌾
Often we see people as the source of destruction and problems on this planet, but what about the people who have paid with their lives to protect ecosystems, who have turned deserted land into rainforests, who revive soil or protect species from extinction?
There are countless stories out there and in this episode we are exploring three that focus on reforestation since this is very much our niche :))
We explore the stories of Omar Tello from Ecuador, Sebastião Salgado and his wife Lélia in Brazil and Juan León Santos from Mexico.
These stories can only give us a taste of what people are capable of!
It is difficult for us to understand how people and industries can continually destroy beautiful biodiverse ecosystems around the world, but we often struggle to fully overlook this net of complex interdependencies that has been woven around people, ecosystems and economies that makes people dependent on the destruction and alteration of natural systems for their livelihoods.
This is also explored in the BBC series ´I bought a rainforest´, with the conservationist and wildlife photographer Lewis Hamilton, who bought 6 hectares of rainforest to protect it and encountered many issues along the way.
There is so much to think about and consider when exploring possibilities for independence from destructive economies for local people in many parts of the world and how it is possible to make reforestation, renaturation, rewilding and looking after nature a source of income and part of thriving, local economies.
Do you have any creative thoughts on how this can be achieved?
We´re interested in hearing from you 🌱🌿

Christina L.'s tree planting project in Romania🌱
Welcome back to "The Treecelet Podcast".
In this episode we are joined by Christina L. who is aiming to replant an entire forest in her hometown in Romania!
She even wants to dedicate the entire project to Treecelet because she felt so inspired by our projects - so when Christina reached out we knew we wanted to know more about her incredible vision of bringing a now clear-cut field that once used to be a forest, back to it's natural state.
Christina shares how her upbringing instilled a love for nature in her and how she and her family have made it a ritual to plant a tree wherever they go on holiday.
She tells us all about how the project will come to life, how they will finance it, which trees they will plant and how anybody can germinate trees from seeds at home🌱
Christina wants to inspire others to start their own projects and thinks that it is now the time to give back to nature!
And we whole heartedly agree with her!
She has definitely inspired us and we hope you enjoy this episode🌿

Our relationship with trees in and out of the forest🌲
Hello everybody and welcome to the first official episode of "The Treecelet Podcast"!
Today we will be talking about our relationship with trees in and out of the forest, in the countryside, as well as in the city and how we can work with trees to create healthier, more relaxed and connected environments around us.
We will be asking the question of how much we actually know about the species and plants that surround us every single day and try to explore how we can create more mindfulness and connection by learning, touching, seeing and paying more attention to what we are walking through.
Indigenous and first nations peoples relationship with trees will also provide some inspiration for us to see trees through different eyes.
After London's high air pollution levels and alert a few weeks ago we also look at the possibilities to prevent such dangerous pollution beforehand instead of dealing with it once its there.
We hope you enjoy this episode🌱
