The layout in these boats are much more convenient for walking throughout the cockpit, and you do not lose any of the features you would be looking for in the V-drive. I believe if you want the biggest monster Surfwave out there you are still going to have to pay over 200,000 dollars for a monster boat. However, if you have a family and are looking to have fun out on the water I really don't think there are any regrets in buying a forward drive. It has a comparable wave to many lower priced V-drive boats and if you add weight, just like they do on every V-drive out there your wave will keep getting bigger.

Episode 2021 - Here's a great conditioning drill for baseball players. Add this to the end of your training as a group. You can alternate athletes and have up to eight players per group. Any bigger than that I recommend that you split up into smaller groups. Pulling a football out at the end of practice can be a great way to loosen up the group. You can do this workout with a baseball and glove as well, but I have always found that utilizing a football here and there is fun for the guys. A great tip to start this exercise is to cover arm action and how to settle your head as you approach the ball. Learning how to run smoothly is very important during the last phase of this exercise. Calm the gate, then reach, and catch.

Episode 2014 - the Netflix documentary untold: the girlfriend who didn't exist, is a crazy dive into the Manti Te'o catfish extravaganza. By the end of the documentary you can't help but feel terrible for Manti Te'o and what he went through. It's hard to believe that a guy of his stature could get catfished, but as a college athlete myself, I knew many teammates that had long distance relationships and video calls rarely worked. I think the documentary approach the topic from a middle of the road perspective and just tried to tell the story. I believe that if I told the story I would've made the cat Fisher and the reporters that brought the story as a bit more of an enemy. They truly did paint him out to be a terrible person in the papers, and the catfisher is just a savage.

Episode 1096 - Do you have pain in your knee or outside of your hip? Sometimes tension in your IT band can really send some shockwaves through your lower limbs. I remember when foam rollers first came out and it was recommended to utilize them on your IT band. For years I foam rolled my IT band, but I also foam rolled all the connective tissue around it. Overtime, I found more success targeting the quads and glutes for any outside knee pain than I ever received from the excruciating pain rolling my IT band. Give it a try! In this video we describe many modifications that young athletes should be doing in addition to these exercises as they get older. Often times youth athletes need a little more coaching than advanced level athletes. We offer several modifications to these exercises so even the youngest can help improve their performance. There are three key things you should be doing to get rid of soreness quickly. The first is elevate your heart rate and increase blood flow. The second is some dedicated stretching or rolling. Third, very light specific muscle group exercises. If your quads are extremely sore, then target them with some light exercise and your soreness will dissipate quickly. You can choose to be sore for multiple days, or get rid of it quickly with these methods.

Episode 1065 - Arm Swing Study, Sprints For Testosterone, Six Pack Season

A new arm swing study came out that was pretty well done. They controlled for a lot of factors, but the interpretation seemed to be more consistent with a non-athletic approach. The variation in speed difference they said was just under 2% within 30 meters. Their conclusion was the arm swing was not near as much of a factor as most would consider. However, when it comes to sports performance, I feel like this is a huge difference. To be an elite level athlete, you only need a step. Low testosterone? High intensity sprints have shown promise to raise testosterone levels. However, as we discussed, I feel as though there are many factors in most peoples lives that they need to address first. Do you have a caffeine addiction? Do you stay on your phone too long before bed? As the study suggests, sleep is a major part of healthy testosterone levels. You may just skip the sprints and work on your sleep! It is six pack season again! I'm sure everyone's social media feed is filled with the five best exercises to do for your six pack. The problem is, every exercise should be prefaced with a paragraph talking about calorie restriction. If your body fat is not low enough, you will never see a six pack. Save yourself the thousands of crunches and leg raises, and spend some time in the kitchen.

I was watching this fight with some friends and I couldn't help but compare it to some of his previous fights. To me, it seems as though Charles Oliveira is baiting these heavy hitters into swinging wildly. Don't get me wrong, it looks as though he has almost gotten caught with too big of a shot several times. However, if you notice as soon as he gets touched he drops to his back eliminating more damage. I wonder if this is not part of this tactic. Stand toe to toe, look for a knockout shot, and if you get hit hard drop back to eliminate damage. Most of these heavy hitters feel as though they have him at that point. It seems as though, he has a lot left in the tank at that point. He entices you to come back to the ground with him. If you decide not to, then you end up abandoning your game plan and search for the knockout. UFC 274 was a great showing for Michael Chandler. He's one of the most exciting fighters in the UFC right now. It seems as though in his last couple fights, he is getting knocked down easily. I wonder if some of these weight cuts as he has gotten a little bit older are becoming problematic. He is a big guy. Very muscular and I heard in a recent interview that he weighs between 180 and 195 pounds outside of fight camp. That's quite a drop to get ready for these fights. Do you think he will move up as he gets older or just keep fighting for the 155 pound weight class?

Did the USF underdeliver? I'm not sure. I'm not sure yet if it is really offering something different than what other leagues have done before. A couple different rule changes that are generally barely ever used, and empty stands. Unfortunately that is what has happened in every league that has been generated outside the NFL. I was hoping to see a little bit more to the camera work. Drone footage would be awesome if used in a different way, but it didn't really seem much different than just utilizing the shot that's used on the pulley system. Overtime I'm sure they will practice with getting different angles but I was a little underwhelmed. I think the talent is there. The players played hard, and coaches will evolve as the season goes on. I'm just hoping that one of these leagues can get it right so that they can coexist with the NFL soon.

You can alleviate an awful lot of pain by maintaining full range of motion in specific muscle groups. Utilize this maintenance warm-up exercise routine before each workout. If you are not consistently working out, consider adding this to your week at least three times.

I would imagine that some even thought that the broadcast went out during the commercial. It was well timed and subtle. I have not heard anyone talk about other commercials outside of this one. Shoulder pain hits us all at some point in our life. It can come from overuse, or a sports injury. One trick that I have utilized to minimize my shoulder pain is by hanging. There has been a lot of research and a push in recent years to hang to relieve pain. I have been testing these methods for the past six months and I can successfully say it does in fact work. Not everyone can hang though. Either they are not strong enough or weigh too much. In this video I review several techniques that you can utilize to reap the benefits of hanging for your shoulder. What works best for the average Joe? Should you do volume training or more intense workouts? The real question is how often can you workout? I find that with having two young children, three days a week is all that I can commit to weight training. Over the past couple years I have shifted from a volume based workout schedule, to a Dorian Yates based method. I do not take steroids so I do not get enormous muscle gains as you may think. But Dorian Yates's workout methods work wonders for someone looking to get in shape. It's difficult to keep my mind focused on true muscle stimulus with volume training, but by utilizing his method of complete failure sets on a muscle group I have achieved great results. Mentally, I only have to focus on breaking down the muscle and then move on to the next muscle group. This method has cut my workout time dramatically and induced the same results.

Dorian Yates is the definition of dedication and goal driven. He recorded nearly every workout over the course of his career and has insane amounts of data to back his method of training. I too have tested his methods and applied it to a non-bodybuilder style workout program. At this point in my life I am no longer looking to build mass amounts of muscle. I am interested in staying healthy and mobile. Maintaining strength is important for the activities that I like to perform. I have found his high intensity workout regimen to be the most effective program to follow. With just three lifting days a week you can still receive tremendous results. Don't get it twisted. I do not take steroids and do not have that type of physique. I'm not suggesting that you'll be shredded and huge out of your mind, as for most individuals, it will require steroids. However, if you would like to have an athletic look, gain strength, and stay active into your 30's, 40's, and 50's the workout program discussed in this video is very effective. You do not need to exercise six days a week if you focus on intensity during training days. Pain is a funny thing. You can get pain from an overworked muscle, an acute injury, or something you have acquired over years of overuse. The problem with pain is that it never seems to truly go away. An injury that is rehabbed properly can go away. It seems as though, lingering inflammation and overuse from day-to-day life causes constant nagging. If you do not workout at all, you will still experience nagging pain. In my experience working with adults and children of all ages, working out can control the pain and improve quality of life. You can create soreness in areas that you need more blood flow. This blood flow leads to properly functioning muscles. A joint that does not want to move, if moved correctly and trained properly, can still function in every day life. On the other hand, if you leave a problem area alone, it seems to deteriorate quickly. To maintain a mobile body, controlling the pain and range of motion is essential. I don't give you this advice like every tech reviewer out there. I only give you this advice based on a decade of experience. No matter how much you do not want to upgrade your phone, it is inevitable. The battery technology as well as the performance of the phone declines so much over the course of 24 months that an upgrade becomes a necessity. Of course, if you do not use your iPhone that much, then you will be fine. For a majority of us, though, we are heavy users. The battery decline is enormous after about 14 months. This simple fact alone causes most to upgrade right away. For those of you like me, who like to save money, always hesitate buying the new phone. What I have found over the last 10 years is basically I end up buying the new phone shortly after the payment process stops anyway. So if you are going to completely embrace buying a new phone every year, don't wait, just buy it. The payment plans have become basically a TV subscription fee. Just upgrade and move on with your life. Well, that's the way I feel about it now.

I searched and searched and searched for this video. I was trying to figure out whether or not I wanted a wake boat or a forward facing drive bowrider. As far as internet research goes, they both seem to be a great option for wake surfing behind a boat. After watching tons of videos and attending the 2022 Kansas City Boat Show I finally have come to my conclusion. The question is which boat is right for you? Do you enjoy the massive wave behind the newer subfloor ballast wake boats? Or, are you more interested in a walkway, tons of storage, and a competitive surf wave for the family? I find myself coming to the realization that we will not be professional wake surfers and I believe the forward drive to be a better fit for my family. The Yamaha 275 SD is a beautiful boat. It has a magnificent walk-through design and comfortable seating. The driver's seat is filled with technology that make it's boating experience one of a kind. It also includes an amazing hardtop tower that gives the people on your boat tons of shade. One major drawback is that it is a jet boat and can suck up things in the water that will leave you stranded. If you can pull the things out of the impellers then you can be well on your way. If you come across something that is jammed in, you will find yourself stranded. With a boat full of people this can be an absolute nightmare. Another major drawback is the tow point angle of this specific tower. It can be great for surfing, but you will lose the ability to complete other water sport activities. The angle at which the Bimini is in relationship to the tow point, limits the amount a rider can cut out. This is a flawed design that even the dealers spoke about at the 2022 boat show.

The Malibu 2022 M220 is a beautiful boat. It has a lot of amenities that would be great for families to enjoy their magnificent surf wave. However, with the slide out lounging chair moved out of the way, the floor has a major issue. It drops down dramatically when you put weight on the floor just above the engine. I watched several individuals walk on this area during the 2022 Kansas City Boat Show and is a major design flaw in my opinion. Movement in the flooring on a brand new boat is a major turn off for me. There are an awful lot of perks within the design as well though. An amazing cockpit, wonderful rear view seating for surfing, and thoughtful design throughout the driver's seat. The Malibu offers one of the best surf waves in the business but will not be my choice in 2022.

It offers a spacious well thought out interior and a lounging area for the family. The weight of the boat allows for a larger wave with the surf series additional ballast. If you are looking to move your family into the wake surfing era, you should stop and look at the Crownline lineup. Unlike wake boats, the interior design is very user-friendly for families. The seats are comfortable and the sound system is amazing. It offers spacious storage and a comfortable ride. I think the Crownline might be the wake boat that I see in my future.

Overall a magnificent boat but the price point is a bit of a pain point. The chaparral boats do not offer the best amenities for the price. Overall I would agree that it is a great boat but probably not the option for me.

I attended the boat show over the weekend and I had to share my thoughts. Here are the reasons why I will not be buying a cobalt this year. Mainly! The price is insane. Overall though, it is a very fancy well designed boat. There are a couple elements that the design could've been better. Specifically the front seat is much too close to the dash and I was not a huge fan of the lowering rear deck mechanisms that is easily kickable by small children. I trained for athletics my entire youth and young adult life. I then transition to fitness training for adults. One thing that I wish that I would have known more about as a young athlete would've been sleep and nutrition. The problem is, kids can know as much about these topics as they want. There is tons of information out there that they can learn, but it is still up to the parents to cook the meals and order the food. If you want your athlete to perform at their best, then you must help feed the engine. Learn about nutrition and feed your kids by cooking the correct meals. Give them options that are easy and full of nutrition.

What a game! I witnessed literally the best NFL football game between the Chiefs and the Bills this past weekend. The overtime controversy is an interesting thing to reflect on. There's so much history in the game of football, like many sports, they make it very difficult to change rules. However, I think that altering the overtime rules, to give the people more of what they want, would be an amazing change. I suggest having a quarterback duel similar to the Pro Bowl. With a little bit of time and brainstorming I think a format could be created that would benefit the game greatly. I myself have trained all different types of formats. Whether it be a fully committed seven day a week workout regimen, or a minimalistic approach, two days a week training all out. It seems to me that a three day a week workout regimen with focused exercises is the most effective for individuals in their 20's 30's 40's and 50's.
