Rip It Up: Can We Separate The Art From The Artist?

Rip It Up: Can We Separate The Art From The Artist?

Introducing a new series called “Rip It Up.” The concept is to discuss  the issues that are affecting artists these days, such as can we  separate the artist from the art they create? In an era where artists  are being held liable for their behavior, can we still appreciate the  movies, music, or other art they create while not appreciating the  person themselves?  These debates will include special guests and  be held in a manner a bit different from most. We will behave like  civilized people, let people have opinions that might differ from ours. Hosted By  Milo Denison @milodenison Kev Bamboo @bmboo_creatives

Aidan O Sullivan - Using the Coronavirus Quarantine as an Opportunity For Creativity

Aidan O Sullivan - Using the Coronavirus Quarantine as an Opportunity For Creativity

In this episode, I talk with actor Aidan O Sullivan. With the lockdown/shutdown he is in rural Donegal by the sea and mountains and using the "downtime" to write short films and a stand-up comedy set. Reading books that have been sitting around the house and waiting to be ready. We also discuss different studies for acting and workshops, and the value they provide to the performer. And his thoughts on relocating from Dublin to London for acting work. And we share the stories of how we are keeping ourselves during the quarantine. And our tea preferences while stuck at home. Introduction to Diary of an Unemployed Actor

Introduction to Diary of an Unemployed Actor

Most podcasts and interview shows talk to the big stars, the actors and actresses with publicists who tell them what stories to tell and how to promote their projects. I’d like to hear from the rest of us trying to make a living as performers - the people starring in independent films and shorts, the supporting artists and background performers. I would like to hear from those in the theatre. “Diary of an Unemployed Actor” is not just about promoting projects, it is to provide a source of education for those making a living as performers or those who want to learn more about making a living as actors and actresses. A podcast for learning and entertainment. The show is hosted by Milo Denison. You can follow him at: www.instagram.com/milodenison www.facebook.com/milodenison www.milodenison.com
