If our government was wearing a life alert, now would be a good time to push the button for help. Are any of the three branches of the federal government working at all for the people? 

And, yes that’s rhetorical, you know the answer. While the federal government continues to get larger, the problems created by the bureaucracy, lifetime politicians, and radical judges whittle away our individual freedom and liberty.

A current example of the failed institutions within our government is on full display this week as the Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy and the Republicans grapple with a government shutdown, again.  Every year, the federal budget should be passed by the end of September. 

It never happens.  Instead, massive omnibus spending bills are forced on the American people with large deficit spending adding trillions to the $33 trillion national debt.

As the deadline looms for a solution the Republicans look to a Continuing Resolution to continue the Nancy Pelosi spending from the last Congress. Against the deadline, Kevin McCarthy decided to only have a three-and-a-half-day work week for Congress after just coming off a 4-week break.

During those three and a half days there were some interesting hearings to attempt to reveal some truth and hold Attorney General Merrick Garland accountable.  On this episode of Our Lives & Politics we break down some of the Republican’s infighting and hear the testimony of Merrick Garland.

You may be left scratching your head when you spend a few minutes watching or listening to political news. I’m constantly left perplexed at the politicians we continue to elect over and over. We say we’ll just vote for them, but we are always left with the same choices when that time comes. The result is the same government.

High crime, high spending, transgender movement, pronouns, school library books…the list is limitless. What can I do about it? That’s probably a question you find yourself asking. Who can blame you? Most people are overwhelmed. Where to start? What to do?

The Republican National Committee doesn’t want you to know the honest truth. About 400,000 precinct committee positions are available across the country and the U.S. territories. Right now, there are only 200,000 positions filled. There is a huge opportunity to affect the 2024 election cycle. Every race, from national to local schools and judges, can be changed with very little work.

Achieving this will require building and moving.  It requires action.  Not a political fight but a greater responsibility of self-governing authority.  The Federalist Papers address these things and there we can read how Americans must be a constitutional people. 

In 1963 the Conservative Affirmation was written by Willmoore Kendall.  He was a political scientist and a professor.  The book was released again in 2022. At the time of its original release, there were contrast and comparisons made with a progressive ideaology  book written by Charles Frankel called The Democratic Prospect.

It’s interesting that in the Conservative Affirmation by Kendall he suggests that an authoritative statement of conservatism in the U.S. can be obtained by going back to the intention of the founders written in the Federalist papers.  There, it was written, equal treatment of persons before the law with the formation of public policy through deliberations of virtuous agents rather than numerical majorities.  Kendall favored Congressional majority as it is more sober and closer to the people.

Kendall noticed that Liberals favored Presidential majority to weaken Congress and the power of the people.  I’m bringing this up to point out a few things.  First, this liberal/conservative argument has been alive and well since the inception of this country.  60 years ago, it was still alive and well.  Today?  It may feel this is all new, but we’ve been here before.  We’ve been here since the beginning 247 years ago. So, the question becomes are the Republican Party, the 118th Congress, and Speaker Kevin McCarthy stopping or slowing down liberalism, or are they helping advance it?  On this episode of Our Lives and Politics, Booker Scott measures the pulse of the people in a live Twitter/X Space to get a grade on the first 8 months of the Republican majority in the House of Representatives and Kevin McCarthy.  What do you think?  Have they passed or failed?

This country’s institutions, from the 3 letter agencies to public schools and now from corporations to universities across the land, have been hijacked.  Politicians go to Washington DC never to return home; they are permitted to trade stocks on insider information and grow generational wealth for their families while rarely creating solutions for American families. Watching the F.B.I Director Christopher Wray testify conjures images in my head of Ray Charles, Sergeant Shultz from Hogan's Heros and the three monkeys all rolled into one.  It is obvious Wray sees nothing and in his best Klink impression he repeatedly told us, “I know nothing.” Maybe it is a prerequisite to be the Director to be like the three monkeys, eyes, ears, and mouth covered.

Multiple independent sources have corroborated, and everyone should know the federal government and its agencies worked with big tech and social media to censor and silence Americans. As important as the first amendment is to each of us, we should have a level of expectation that our rights would be protected by our federal law enforcement.  It should be their number one job.

 With every Congressional hearing in Washington D.C., more evidence is revealed to prove otherwise.  FBI Director Christopher Wray was repeatedly pressed this week by members of Congress and his responses were less than forthcoming. In some cases, he claimed he had no knowledge of some extreme overreaches by the agency he leads and controls.

On this edition of Our Lives & Politics, we hear Chris Wray dodge and deceive as the questions repeatedly go unanswered. The FBI does not know who Ray Epps is but knows exactly what everyone with a Bank of America debit or credit card had for lunch in Washington D.C. between January 5th and 6th 2021. 

Plus, a big reveal on cyber organizations and the World Economic Forum working together before and after the 2020 election to change election laws, coordinate with the state Secretary of State, and then defend the Democrats in court cases in key swing states over election fraud and election audits.

We begin and end this hour with some thoughts on conservative political infighting and division we are seeing. Relatively speaking we are still early in the election process for the presidential primary, but the vitriol between factions is already concerning. Will there be so much damage done within the party that no Republican candidate will have a chance in ’24?

The Emergent Fund was created to give grants to groups like Antifa and thousands of others to discredit and remove a sitting U.S. president. In 2016, the Hillary Clinton campaign decided to create the biggest lie in American politics. The Russian collusion story was a fabrication, many of us knew then, and we should know now. It was just dirty politics. Years and years of fake investigations, impeachments, and election interference at our government’s highest levels have devastated our country.

One political opponent used the full force of deep state operatives and the mainstream media to create an alternative reality for most people in the country. The Clinton campaign, the FBI, New York Times, Washington Post, and other nefarious actors changed American history by creating their own history.

John Durham investigated the origins of the Russian collusion story or hoax for four years. The investigation resulted in a guilty plea by FBI attorney Kevin Clinesmith for lying on a FISA document that allowed the government to spy on Carter Page, who was part of the Donald Trump campaign in 2016. Clinesmith is now back to work. He didn’t even lose his law license.

There were a couple of other failed prosecutions by Durham, Clinton attorney Michael Sussman, and Igor Danchenko. Both were only charged with lying to the FBI during the investigation of the Russian collusion hoax, and both were acquitted. And then there was the Durham report. It was released a couple of weeks ago, and we’ve already forgotten what was revealed.

Judicial Watch has done great work with so many FOIA requests, which is the Freedom of Information Act. They were on this story for years, and Tom Fitton and his group brought us so much of the truth. If you were paying attention, so many of us already knew much of what was in the Durham report. And much of our knowledge came from those efforts at Judicial Watch.

Tom Fitton put this out on social media and Twitter this week. He said, “The FBI knew the Steele Dossier was a sack of lies, and yet they still pushed false allegations in the nefarious FISA warrant applications against Carter Page. They made it a point to try to crush Trump and those around him. It was purely political, banana republic effort to change the course of a presidential election and presidency.

Durham let down the American people with few and failed prosecutions. Never in American history has so much government corruption faced so little accountability. Let me be clear, the FBI and Justice Department – and their political masters in the Obama White House – are responsible for the worst government corruption in American history. President Trump is a crime victim who was targeted by a seditious conspiracy by Obama, Biden, Clinton, and their deep state allies.”

The House Oversight Committee marched out to microphones with explosive bombshell information for the much-anticipated press conference. One by one, different committee members stepped up to the microphone to explain some of what their investigation has revealed in the first one hundred days of the 118th Congress.

Unfortunately, none of the mainstream media news outlets had live coverage of the event and even failed to report anything on it since the press conference. The members told a story of massive corruption within the Biden crime family. Michael argues that WEF is advancing a plutocracy and plutocratic agenda that must be resisted in a universal and strategic manner. WEF leaders, Michael reminds us, have been elected by no one and are ultimately accountable to no one. Yet, they have succeeded in imposing their alien and elitist agenda on important U.S. institutions because the American conservative movement and its leaders, who have been well-funded to date, have failed to engage pro-actively in stopping this threat to our most vital institutions. The time has come, Michael argues, for American conservatives and patriots to hold its own conservative leaders accountable, demanding holistic leadership, strategic, and operational changes necessary so the movement can begin rolling back WEF-led gains and other assaults on our institutions in a strategic, collaborative, and united way. He concludes that America's conservative movement was once successful and influential but that its leaders are not being held to account and have been dodging some of the most significant challenges to American liberty and sovereignty in the nation's history for at least a decade.
