Honor one another above yourselves. 11 Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. 12 Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. 13 Share with the Lord’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality.  Dr King Quotes:  “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.”  “The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy. The true neighbor will risk his position, his prestige, and even his life for the welfare of others.”  “The time is always right to do what is right.”  “Everyone can be great because everyone can serve”  Here are a few actions for you to take  1. Do a self assessment on your life, are you doing anything for others or only building yourself up?  2. Spring into action - volunteer, join a service organization, get involved in ministry, help a neighbor even if you have to wear your mask…no excuses!  3. Be thankful and grateful to God for what you do have and bless others with your gifts, your talents, your abilities…as I always say..someone needs you and someone is on the other side of your YES.   You are here for a reason. If only people knew the cost of the oil in Lisa Johnson's alabaster box!    Buckle up as you prepare to hear more from Lisa on her journey as God has allowed several twists and turn but they all prepared her for her purpose of making an indelible difference in the lives of young women ages 16-25.    Key Gems from this episode: - Mentorship is critical and can even be life changing - Purpose is a uniquely well designed plan by God for your life - created before we entered our mother's womb - God knows what to take you through to accomplish His purpose for your life  - Keep your eye on the prize when times get rough - the prize is victory over every area of your life  - Although her process was dark and life altering (enduring rape, molestation, divorce, homelessness, bipolar diagnosis, a stillborn birth, and surviving her first two years of life only on water and calcium drops) - God was able to get the glory out her life - she now shares this story to bring healing to others  - Lisa knows her purpose is to bring encouragement and hope to the hopeless and broken - She realized the enemy wanted to kill her but she was determined to not let him win - She entered several toxic relationships trying to fulfill what she didn't get as a child - sought her own will instead of God's which will take you the long route - God's way is always the best way - Checked herself into a mental institution and started therapy to get help - God and therapy is okay!  - Started writing devotions for her church which led her to writing her first book - it is so important to be obedient to God - God unlocked the door for this blessing and brought the right person in to help her  - To discover your unique purpose, seek God first  - When you feel discouraged, keep moving no matter what - God will put his super on your natural - there will be spiritual warfare but you are on the winning side! - Take the licks and keep bouncing back like the punching bag - Use your resources to get through the process - God wants only the best for you (Jeremiah 29:11) - We all have a different sound in the earth - get in tune with your sound  - God wants us to do more than just live to exist - we must be living epistles  - Stand in expectation - God wants the best for you - make sure you get it! - People can't see the scars underneath your story but they represent something great - they are part of your story    As you can see this was such a powerful episode. Today you will be blessed by none other than my sister in Christ JoVonna Russell who is one of the strongest people I know. She has dealt with many trials and tribulations especially in the area of her health but she has not let that stop her from praising God, from accomplishing God's will or His purpose. I'm sure you've read it many times: Matthew 17:14-20 but do you believe it? Do you practice it? This scripture reminds us of the expectations Jesus has for us in the faith department. In vs 20 He says: “You don’t have enough faith,” Jesus told them. “I tell you the truth, if you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it would move. Nothing would be impossible." Everytime I read this I get excited. Knowing that through Christ I can overcome any mountain is such a great feeling. It is a joy to be in God's hands...He got us!
