Mona is an Iranian- Australian Actress based in Perth.
Mona has taken the reigns in organising demonstrations here in Perth in support of the "woman, life, freedom" movement against the Islamic Regime in Iran. The movement sparked with the death of Mahsa Amini. A young Kurdish girl who was vacationing in Tehran with her brother before being detained by the Morality Police. Three days later she slipped into a coma and died.

Episode 27 - Reuben Christman | Jazz Musician / Composer
Reuben Christman was born in Fremantle, Western Australia. At an early age, his music teacher snatched the instrument in his hand and replaced it with a trumpet. This moment would alter the direction his life would take.
Reuben soon developed a passion for the instrument and later went on to study music at the University of Western Australia. After playing in many bands, some which would take him on the road and across the country, he would in recent years, form The Old Road Trio - a strictly jazz outfit. On the side Reuben is a composer of classical music. In 2020 he participated in the WASO young and emerging composers program, writing a solo cello work titled ‘Halleratio’.

Today, Troy is co-founder of a mental health and suicide prevention foundation called, ‘Beacon Fight for Life’, leading him to run for a seat in Parliament in 2020.

A very special podcast for me because this famous guest happens to be my sister, Fern Nicholson.
Trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts London, Fern Nicholson’s career began in musical theatre in the UK. She starred in Jesus Christ Superstar at the tender age of 11. As a teenager, Fern moved to Australia with her family. She got married in her 20s and started her own family and raised four children. Her entertainment career was put on hold.
In the year 2000, Fern opened her first acting school and production company. Her unique teaching methods and passion for the craft would later propel her students to reach world wide stardom, starring in successful shows such as: Avengers End Game, Thirteen Reasons Why, House of Cards and Romper Stomper. It would be nearly 2 decades later that Fern would step in front of the camera again as an actor, starring in the TV series, Itch and The Heights; The feature film Dirt Music, acting alongside David Wenham (Lord of the Rings) and Kelly Macdonald (Boardwalk Empire) as well as an upcoming, big budget Netflix series.

Shelley Q was born in a small country town near Narrogin, Western Australia.
She discovered a love for music at the age of three, listening to the classic icons of the 50's & 60’s. But her world changed at the age of 10 when seeing the movie , 'Walk the Line'. She taught herself the guitar and learned every song in the movie.
Shelley moved to a boarding school in Perth and when times got tough, the guitar became her best friend. Her talent was soon discovered and Shelley went from playing in the school common-room by herself, to a half-time football spectacle in front of thousands. A single and music video soon followed along with appearances on TV.
Shelley's other passion is acting and she has been cast in a feature film, shooting in Perth during the months of April and May this year.

In her teenage years, Cyla finally found a place she would call home and people she would call family - a boxing gym. Boxing saved her life in many ways, and after turning Pro, Cyla was involved in a near-fatal car accident. This was a defining moment in her life. Cyla has become a role model to many, including myself. Now she shares her story for the first time in this podcast.

From his unique experience growing up in the African bush and expertise across a range of productions around the world, it has led to Garth creating his own distinctive style of cinematic story telling.
He is currently an ambassador to the camera brand 'Black Magic' and has worked on a feature length documentary for the last four years, dealing with the Rhino poaching crisis in South Africa.

Kuda Mic is a seasoned performing artist with an expansive 10 year history in the industry. One of Perth's exciting talents, Kuda takes pride in creating meaningful music that tells a story and spreads a positive message that crosses physical and musical borders.
Born and raised in Zimbabwe and now calling Perth home, Kuda's journey took him through Kenya and Uganda leading to a wide array of cultural and musical influences that have forged a universal style. Formerly known as 'E.T.C.' and more recognisable as one of the members of Perth rap group 'Respect The Talent', Kuda's musical journey has taught him that above all else, support of aspiring artists is a duty for those with the opportunity to do so. That mentality has led to the formation of a solid network of like-minded musicians that seek to bring people together and better the world through great music.

Episode 6 - Mark Mahoney | Comedian
Hailing from Dublin Ireland, Mark now calls Australia home and has been a regular on the Perth comedy scene for over 3 years. Mark’s unique brand of comedy landed him in the finals for the Funny Faces comedy competition, and has taken him across regional Western Australia and nationally. He is known as the fastest man in comedy and his interests include everything from alien conspiracies, ancient history, UFC, football and stand-up comedy.

Sara O’Leary was born in Canton, Michigan. She is a qualified nurse and loves travelling. She tells us what it’s like working in the high stress environment of a surgical theatre, and how her passion for nursing has her doing voluntary work around the world. Sara’s travels have had a major impact on her life with the recent terrorist bombings in Sri Lanka as well as finding the love of her life.

Michael is an established actor, educator and member of the Labor Party. He shares his challenges and achievements, detailing his pathway which has led him to where he is now. Episode 3 - Stev Makhlouta | Chef
Stev was raised in Australia and comes from an Egyptian mother and Syrian father. When finishing school, he moved into the world of food, working his way from apprentice to Sous-chef for one of the best chefs in Australia. Stev then studied film in college and moved into the world of producing. He later became the co-director of a marketing company and streetwear clothing line. Stev gives an inside look into the high pressure world of fine-dining and shares a few spiritual tales when documenting an indigenous family in the outback.

Episode 2 - Florencia Natalia | Past Life Therapist
Florencia was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina and at an early age felt different from other children. Growing up in a happy home, it was the opposite at school. Connecting with her grandfather, she delved into his collection of books about the occult and extraterrestrial life. It was an escape and just what Florencia needed, that is, until she began to see the spirit world first hand.
Instead of isolating herself even more, she decided to investigate this new found vision. Florencia is now a Certificated Reiki Master, Hypnotherapist member of AHA and IITC, Past Life Regression Therapist and Meditation Teacher. Florencia now helps people develop resilience to face the emotional challenges that she once did as a child.
