We're back....well at least Jon and Chris are. We begin our march to episode 500 by taking a trip out to sea to do some deep sea fishing....unfortunetly for us we also encounter monsters at every turn in Blacksail's Dredge. On this episode Chris, Jon and Shaun all took part in a trip to the actual movie theatre to see the new Super Mario Bros Movie. Sadly, we did not see it all together, always a good time when we do. For this review, we all took a moment to discuss how we approached it, and our thoughts individually. Overall, the movie has done remarkably well earning $375.6 Million in it's opening weekend. Hello and thank you for downloading this week's show. On this episode Chris, Jon and Shaun all revisited the wonderful Capcom game - Resident Evil 4: Remake - moving forward known as RE4. For Chris and Shaun, this was their first play of RE4 and for Jon - this was like a walk down memory lane, only prettier. In this series, RE4 is known as more of a "action" game with scary, intense moments. This stands out because other RE games are known as more of the traditional survival horror. Yes, the beta has tech issues. But the game is still awesome. And yes, after the closed Beta, changes and patches were made for tech issues, so one can assume after the open Beta, more changes are coming for any tech issues. What is for sure certain, this next entry into Diablo is poised to be one of the best to date. Chris and Shaun agree that come June, sooooo much time of their life will be consumed. While Chris gave his review, he pointed out very - weird in game moments that def would have Shaun's skin crawling. Well, right out the gate, let's just spill the beans, Jon's not here today -  he took PTO. NO WORRIES! Calm Down! Chris and Shaun are here to cover a once shadow-dropped game that is pretty awesome. What game? Oh  that game is: Hi-Fi Rush. Released on Xbox and Steam/Windows, this game caught fire. Amazing reviews and comments popped up everywhere once people got their hands on it and for good reason. Labeled as a "rhythm game"  - sure it's that - but more as well. Beautiful aesthetics, a banging soundtrack and all in all, a really good time.  Chris mentioned it's a game that doesn't "overstay it's welcome" . What he means it's a perfect balance of length, gameplay and you have a fun time while playing it.  Speaking of playing - Shaun recommends playing with headphones on, and turn it up. This game is from the Co-Creator of Rick and Morty and published by Squanch Games.  The game is a comedic, first person shooter game full of that aforementioned Rick and Morty humor. As a matter of fact - Chris noted that if you are a fan of that - this game would most likely be a joy for you to play. Annnnd we're back baby! You found us and we thank you! This week all 3 friends are together again to discuss the new Ubisoft game  - Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope. Chris and Jon played the game, and both spoke very high on how this would be a perfect entry to the  tactical genre.  Both also mentioned that it's great for "Mario" fans out there - of course meaning the iconic Nintendo character. Jon played the O.G. Mario + Rabbids game, and still had high praise for this new editions. Chris teased up knowledge on potentially being able to play with 4 on a screen vs 3 (What Jon had seen to this point) and you should have seen Jon's giddiness. I'll speak more on how you could see that in just a moment.  It was interesting to hear them both speak on the game knowing this was Chris's first and Jon's second Mario + Rabbid's game. Well hello there! Welcome to the GREATEST Podcast about Video Games, ever. #humble This week no Jon - So Chris and Shaun decided to kick back watch some anime. And cover it, as a topic on show. There is a tie in - it's Cyberpunk. More specific, it's Cyberpunk: Edgerunners.  A Netflix show - contained 10 Episodes of cyberpunk goodness! If this was in the mix for GOTY, it's not because it's not a game, it might be the GOTY.  The story, the animations, the music - all of it.....glorious. Hello once again! Welcome to the WORLD'S GREATEST Podcast about video games. We are glad to have you! Our topic this week is a game that originally came out in 2020 as a early access. It's name??? Well, it's called Grounded. Chris says it's a classic "tree puncher" - a term he says that we all should know (to his real life friends) - however, I (Shaun) have never heard of it. So this game is actually a survival and sometimes horror game. The catch, your like tiny - think "Honey, I Shrunk the Kids" small.  And there's ants, lady bugs, spiders....ummmmm...and they're "Normal Sized".  The cool thing Chris mentions is that the game actually has a story in a way that only  Obsidian can do it. Overall, Chris really enjoyed this game so much so - that if you own a PC or Xbox and can get this on GamePass....he said to do it. Have fun and play with friends. Hello - you did it. You found the WORLD'S GREATEST Podcast about video games. Welcome, we're glad to have you. If you were looking for us last week, well, we took a week off. Sorry about that. BUT, good news we're back this week! However, the topic...kind of sad-ish.  We regret to inform you that Google Stadia will be shutting it's doors forever on January 18, 2023. It seems everyone heard this news at the same time ish, and this does include developers that were on the platform - i.e. Ubisoft, Bungie.  We dissected the news of Stadia quite a bit and we all agreed the tech behind Stadia was not the reason it didn't "make it". We think it's more like the model for playing/access to/and buying games - it just didn't work. We think it missed software developed by and exclusive to Stadia.  Jon even stated Google should not have given up on it yet. For the most up to date news on Stadia and what you need to know (if you bought it) - I'd say check their official Twitter feed. So here we go again - the WORLD's GREATEST Podcast about Video Games is back with another show! This week, it's all about the Splatoon 3. A Nintendo Switch exclusive, our boy Jon sploo'd and goo'd all over the place, in a good way. Possibly a GOTY contender for him - Jon enjoyed playing this game very, very much.  In a way Jon said this game kind of did "what Assassin's Creed 2 did for that franchise" - Splatoon 3 has done for the Splatoon franchise. Quality of life upgrades to a game that wasn't bad (Splatoon 2) - but we needed them, and didn't even know it.  Capping Jon's excitement for this game was the permanency  of Salmon Run. Previously this was limited.....but not any more. Seriously, you can hear his excitement for this game, it's a treat. Jon also warns you to make sure you check the questions about your Splatoon 2 save... if you happen to have played/owned it. Here we are again - that's right...the WORLD'S GREATEST Podcast about Video Games is back! This week we bring to you Disney Dreamlight Valley. What is it? Well, if you know the likes of Animal Crossing and maybe some Stardew Valley - you kind of get what Dreamlight is doing. Kind of. Technically speaking - the game is still is in an Early Access phase...but to be quite honest, it doesn't feel that way.  The center of the game is Disney's magic. The characters you all know and love take center stage. There is plenty to do - either farming and gathering, questing with the story's to bringing other Disney characters to the world you are trying to make right again. Personally, Shaun loves hearing Disney music instrumentals (as the games soundtrack) while you are doing all the things. Currently this game is on Game Pass either on your XBOX X/S or PC.  PC users can get the game now on steam for around $30 dollars in like a founder's pack with some goodies. . Another week of the WORLD'S GREATEST Podcast about Video games, of course that is us, your Weekly Games Chat. So, VR week means Shaun played a game - and it's a good one. The internets would tell you this is a follow up to Red Matter 1 - and it is. It'd tell you its set in a dystopian type world with Soviet Union vibes, it is. Jon's out this week right, and Chris and Shaun swore the episode might be the shortest ever. The opposite happened. It turned out to be one of the longer episodes. In part due to an exquisite review of not only the newly released DLC for Cuphead - The Delicious Last Course - but also something magical. Quite possibly the best set of emails ever written to the show. It was not one, but the collective bunch.  For now, Chris replayed Cuphead from the beginning. All in all - including the DLC, says this is a TAHP NATCH experience. It will be cool to see what this studio does in the future for now, we are grateful to have this journey. This week it's all about tactical shooting and espionage and what not. In the game Sniper Elite 5 - you are dubbed "the shadow". However, during this weeks recording we learned Jon is more like the EFFING SUNSHINE when he plays. This is the 5th installment of the main Sniper Elite series per the title, coming directly after Sniper Elite 4 but it's still around the time frame of the event in Sniper Elite 2. This takes place in France, or as Shaun said it 'Franch". This week we explored the even that was Sony's State of Play that streamed on 5/31/22. We pretty much agreed it was a good event, not historic OR bad...but good. Jon's highlight was Resident Evil 4 being remade with a release date!  For Shaun, he was happy for all the confirmed PSVR 2 games - but wanted a release date/pricing....something! For Chris, his highlight the Final Fantasy 16 trailer. Coming next week we get potentially more big news hopefully with Summer Games Fest 2022 and Xbox's Showcase for June 12, with a follow up (deeper dive) in 6/14/22. This week we learned about how scary ghosts in Japan are ANNNNNND how much fun Jon had/is having playing Ghostwire: Tokyo. Currently a PS5/PC exclusive - we learned about how scary of a vibe this game gives...maybe eerie is better. Either way...it's right up Jon's wheelhouse.  A great point brought up by Chris, this COULD BE Bethesda's last new  game on a PlayStation platform for sometime, maybe even ever.  Speaking of ever, have you...yes YOU ever stopped by and watched the show live on twitch? This week is all about a Samurai game that Chris and Shaun played via Xbox's Game Pass - and that game  is Trek to Yomi. A 2D side scroller type  game that is visually stunning and takes you into the world of the main character Hiroki.  Set in the Edo Period -  it literally feels like you are playing a movie at times - but that play thing is somewhat clunky if we're being honest.  That's right  - it's not perfect. How different did Shaun and Chris rate this? Episode 354 - Lego Game time!!! The Skywalker Sage to be exact! John and Shaun dive into THE saga. Skywalker. It had been a while insert singing since John or Shaun had been here to this familiar place of Lego-ness. We did NOT have a bad feeling about this. While not being the best game ever - it is safe to say this is THE best Lego Star Wars game of all time. If you are a fan of Star Wars - you need this game. Episode 353 - It's Moss 2 week - which means Shaun's excited!
