032. Creating safe spaces for your children to express themselves, teaching them forgiveness authentically and other ways to teach your children conflict resolution skills.
In this episode, I address an important topic for working mothers (and yes, aunties too): teaching children conflict resolution skills! I talk about 5 ways in which any mother/caregiver can support the little ones in their lives. Of the many tips I provide, I specifically love "forgive your children" the most. Why? Because I had to walk a path of deep forgiveness of motherhood and yes, even of my son in order to authentically teach him how to forgive. It truly was my saving grace.

In this week's episode, I chat with my dear friend Farah Harris, a licensed therapist based in Chicago, IL. Farah personally taught me how to better my work-life alignment during a difficult time. I firmly believe we all need better work-life alignment. When things are out of alignment, we tend to become frustrated easier, we are short in our responses and thing may escalate unnecessarily so. 007. Courageously creating business value and flexing their courage muscle at the intersectionality of diversity as a person in tech.
Continuing with our #DiversityInTech series, I interview B. Pagels-Minor who works as a Senior Engineering Program Manager based in San Jose, CA. When B. reached out to me to chat about being diverse in tech, I jumped on the opportunity because they have held great positions in several large companies. Who else, if anyone would be able to speak to being diverse in tech than someone who has such a wonderful resume such as B.'s? Yet, when I talked to them, I learned so much about individuals that are trans/non-binary and their ability to leverage their unique experiences for companies. I believe this episode will be educational for individuals inside and outside of the LGBTQ+ community that want to create business value for organizations of every size. Be sure to share.

004. Building a community as a black woman in tech, a discussion with Niesha White, UX Designer.
Niesha White is a UX Designer based in Birmingham, Alabama. I connected with Niesha in a shared Facebook group titled, Sista Circle: Black Women in Tech (https://www.facebook.com/groups/scbwit/). In that group, we regularly share ideas (and yes, even struggles) on overcoming the angst of being a black woman in tech/corporate America. It is very difficult because of microagressions, being constantly disregarded, receiving passive-aggressive "support" (which often just merely a band-aid) and more often than not, being treated as "the help." 002. Let's examine six behaviors that will block your ability to communicate and resolve conflict in the future.
Everyone has a voice but unfortunately, some people don't use their voice in an empowering way. Some people can often be mean, negative and create obstructions to your goal of speaking up. In this week's episode, we are going to examine and discussion certain behaviors that are inhibitors to your effective communication and conflict resolution.

001. I failed at conflict resolution so you won’t have to: a look into an embarrassing situation.
In this week's episode, I share an unfortunate situation where I botched an internship because I failed to speak up. About 15 years ago, I had a rare opportunity to intern at a local agency as a law student. Things happened, I blew up and I blew it. Ugh! I am also sharing three (3) lessons I learned from this situation and how you can apply them in future conflict resolutions. While I can smile about it now, I surely frowned about it then. Take a listen!
