Shelby sat down with Hannah Wallace, a High School sophomore to talk about mental health and an essay that Hannah had written and shared that has taken Westborough by storm. Her words have inspired and brought forward the topic of how important mental health is and why we shouldn't be afraid to talk about it. Town Manager Kristi Williams also gave an update on the search for a new Director of Planning and Police Chief Laurie's conditional offer from Falmouth.

The Rainbow Connection Concert - Hundredth Town Chorus
The Hundredth Town Chorus performed a wonderful concert at the Westborough Senior Center on Wednesday, May 17, 2023. Under the direction of Mary Havlicek Cornacchia, The Rainbow Connection concert was funded by a grant from the Westborough Cultural Council. Attendees were treated to great renditions of heart-warming songs like Over the Rainbow, Rainbow Connection, and Dancing Queen. The mission of the Hundredth Town Chorus is to bring the joy of music to others - singing at area nursing homes, assisted living and rehab facilities, and senior centers around the MetroWest and Central Mass area.

Senior Needs Assessment - May 16, 2023
The Town of Westborough has been hard at work preparing a Senior Needs Assessment with help from Representatives from the UMass Boston Gerontology Institute, who presented the Key Findings and Recommendations from the 2022 Westborough Senior Needs Assessment and answered citizens questions on May 16th at the Westborough Senior Center.

Veterans Corner - Meet Veterans Service Officer Jeffrey Farrell
"Veterans Corner" host and Veterans Advisory Board member J. Marshall Preston welcomed the Central Massachusetts Veteran Services District's new VSO, Jeffrey Farrell, to the show on March 13, 2023. The district covered by CMVSD includes the towns of Westborough, Shrewsbury, Northborough and Grafton. Among other duties, the VSO helps veterans find benefits and services they are eligible for and a place they can be heard and know they are valued. On February 14th, 2023, the Corridor 9/495 Regional Chamber of Commerce held their monthly meeting. Their guest speaker was Kim Meninger, an executive coach, TEDx speaker and host of the Impostor Syndrome Files podcast. She helped individuals/organizations to understand and embrace the human experience at work to reach their full leadership potential. Kim has coached hundreds of clients and has presented on career advancement and leadership topics to corporate, non-profit and academic audiences. She's leveraged her psychology degree, MBA and over a decade of experience as a high-tech leader to empower professionals to lead themselves and others more effectively. Kim is especially passionate about helping women and members of other historically marginalized groups to become more confident, visible and influential leaders. Kim has a BA in psychology and an MBA from Boston College. She is an ICF Professional Certified Coach and CCE Board Certified Coach with certifications in confidence, career, executive and leadership development coaching. Kim also holds a certificate in Executive Leadership from Cornell University.

Westborough women have been ingenious, powerful pioneers since the town began. Learn about their trials and triumphs in the Westborough Historical Society's program, "Famous Women of Westborough Across the Centuries," on Monday, January 9, 2023 at 7 p.m. This program will featured entrepreneur Betsy Fay (1700s), beloved teacher Annie Fales (1800s), prize-winning author Esther Forbes and horticulturist Bee Warburton (1900s), and Gold Star Olympian Nikki Stone (2000s). Presented by historian Kristina Nilson Allen. This event was sponsored by the Westborough Historical Society.

InterBoro Community Band Winter Concert - December 11, 2022
The InterBoro Community Band is a volunteer ensemble that performs regularly in the Central Massachusetts area. We are a member of The Association of Concert Bands (ACB) and play a wide variety of band literature ranging from traditional classic concert band music to more contemporary and popular band arrangements.
