The Gospel is a part of God’s big plan. The way we see things is through the glasses. Our beliefs, interpretations, and the way we see things depend on the glasses through which we see.

All that Jesus spoke can be covered under 4 major themes:-

1.     The Messiah

2.     The Temple

3.     The Kingdom

4.     The Salvation

All these 4 intertwine and make a beautiful tapestry. Today, let us look at the Temple.

Many people think that Christian life can be a cakewalk. But biblically that’s not what the Christian life is like. It is not a bed of roses. Before you could get to the roses, there are thorns that can prick you. We already learnt that Jesus is building His church and we got to work towards it. Even before that, our perspective needs to be right. The Christian life also has challenges – financial, relational, emotional etc.

One thing that marks Christians out is mentioned in John chapter 13 verses 35. Jesus says “By this everyone will know that you are my disciples if you love one another.”

We go through different seasons in the church, Easter, Christmas etc. One such thing is Gift Day Offering. Jesus is the only hope for India. We look at countries like America and the UK and millions say they want to go there. Why do they do that? Because of the order and prosperity. It was the gospel that changed things in those nations.

We are living in very challenging times. We saw the COVID become a pandemic and we hoped that things would get better over time, but there has been no respite. The death toll has been devastating. Whole industries have shut down, businesses have come to a grinding halt or reduced significantly! Millions have been rendered jobless. In 2021, we are still in unchartered territory. Fear can grip us because of health and economic needs. IN the midst of all that is happening, I want to share how to anchor our lives in Christ.

Paul is writing to the Philippians and talking about his great desires: know Christ, power of his resurrection and the fellowship of His suffering.

Paul wrote a large portion of the New Testament, he went up into heaven and encountered Jesus in person. He was an amazing person

Today, we will look at the life of Joseph. He is one of the four patriarchs, i.e. Abraham, Issacs, Jacob and Joseph. He is an important figure in the history of Israel.

This story beats any Hollywood or Bollywood story. From being favoured, Joesph gets thrown into prison; from being a special son, he becomes a slave.

Jacob the younger son of Isaac and Rebekah deceives His father to get the blessings of His older brother Esau. When Esau comes to know about this, he plans to kill Jacob after Isaac dies. But Rebekah gets to know about Esau’s plan and sends Jacob to her brother Laban in Paddan Aram. On the way to Paddan Aram, while Jacob is sleeping, he has an encounter with God in a dream and God blesses him. Jacob later names this place Bethel which means house of God.

Imagine you’re sitting at home sipping a cup of hot tea with nice vada pav. Your teenage daughter comes home with an expensive gold nose ring and gold bracelets. Along with her come a few men asking for your daughter’s hand in marriage for someone in their family.

In Genesis 24, we see a beautiful love story. This is the longest chapter in Genesis. In fact, the creation of the world as narrated in 31 verses while this love story was narrated in 67 verses.

By now, with our study of Acts and Genesis on Abraham, we would have realised that Abraham and his entire life is not a story….. BUT a constant reminder of a Man whose walk with God pioneered the walk of faith. He had no one to follow… no Old Testament or New Testament scriptures to reference, no online or YouTube messages or no church messages, like you and I have…. just about 19 times in 30 years when God spoke to him…. BUT HE BELIEVED GOD….
