This is an emotional episode.  Today's episode Kim & I discuss the recent car accident she and her son were in and how it almost set her mental and emotional healing back 10 years.  Parts of her experience were hard for both of us to recall so there are couple of moments we needed a second to cry.  Per our usual we always find ways throughout to laugh at it and the lessons we took away from this moment about life and money.  We dubbed this episode "God can't you be a little less dramatic" because we felt like incidents like this happen to us over there to show us something really important.  And while we appreciate the lesson, we just wanna know if he can just whisper it in our ear at night or something. lol I hope you enjoy this conversation.  Please let us know.

Today's episode Kim & I discuss unlearning the idea that you have to choose between God, Therapy, and a Financial Professional.  We want you to know that it's ok if you need more than one level of support.  We discuss how people feel like they must trust God less if they need/want therapy.  We remind the audience to use every resource available to you.  God, therapy, financial coaching, and social services assistance. We want to remind you that if you qualify for social services support to use it.  You pay taxes for that extra level of security to be bridge in your time of need.  It is not meant to be a forever tool but don't let shame make you miss the help you're praying for.

Understanding that your value is not tied to your circumstances.  We talk about how are it can be to CHOOSE YOURSELF and how the best thing you can do for others is rescue yourself first. Women need to learn how to share what they need from other more often and more unapologetically.  We need to learn that rest is just as beneficially to our productivity as work.  We end with learning how to listen for clues that your loved one or friend needs a break and how you can help them give themselves permission to say "no" when they need to.

Today's episode I am introducing a new co-host to the show and explaining why I took a 1 year break from the podcast.  I took a lot of time to reflect on what I needed to work through in myself to be truly impactful to the people who follow me.  What I discovered was that transparency in my everyday growth process was not only helpful to others but therapeutic for myself.  The first stage in financial growth and coaching with me to learning how to do what I call "The Root Work."  That is getting to the thoughts, feelings, and actions that got you to the place you're in right now.  Then determining which of those beliefs, emotions, and behaviors have served you or hurt you.  Identifying the ones that are pushing your forward or limiting you by holding you back.  I wanted to create a space where people were less afraid to tackle the thoughts and emotions that were sabotaging them financially because they were watching us do it with them.  So I changed the name of this podcast from The Fierce Vision podcast to The Root Work podcast because while we still have a fierce vision, we need to do the root work first to build the confidence we need to achieve it.  I will still share great money tips but on this platform we aren't coming to you from a place of authority.  We are coming a peer. So imagine yourself tapping into a private phone call between two sister who have reset their life personally, professionally, and financially and are choosing to heal and grow together.  Welcome to The Root Work!
