Y We Vegan
By Sherimane Johnson
Welcome to the Y We Vegan podcast. If you're vegan or vegan-curious, you're in the right place! We answer questions about the vegan lifestyle, provide insight about the vegan journey and feature a variety of guests which include vegan small business owners, vegan artisans, holistic physicians, and healers as well as vegan event organizers. For the past 10+ years, my diet has been plant-based and live a vegan lifestyle. Becoming a vegan literally saved my life after I was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes. Not wanting to live a life taking Metformin, statins, water pills, and steroids (which were making me feel terrible) I looked for an alternative to pharmaceuticals. What I discovered was the powerful health benefits derived from a plant-based diet and have lived medication free for 9 years. I am sharing the great news about the healthy and healing benefits of a plan-tbased way of eating and a vegan lifestyle. My desire is to inspire, empower and motivate you on your vegan journey. Now let's get started.

5 Foods That Boost Immune System to Fight Coronavirus/Covid -19
5 Foods That Boost Immunity To Fight Covid-19. There’s no one miracle food, "but as a Type II diabetic, I've experienced the healthy power of a plant-based diet" - Sherimane Johnson. I encourage people to do a whole-food diet, mostly plant-based, colorful foods you prepare from scratch. The human body requires vitamins and minerals, proteins, carbohydrates, fats, fluids — “all those things to keep the body functioning at top capacity.” Eating an unbalanced diet or one with a lot of processed food doesn’t provide what’s needed for the chemical reactions to take place or for the body to be able to build new white or red blood cells, soft tissue, heal wounds and keep the brain going strong. A diet of food as close to its raw form as possible can do all that fairly easily, according to Jennifer James, a registered dietitian nutritionist and certified health coach at Ogden Regional Medical Center. As mentioned, I'm sharing my recipe for Sweet Potato Chickpea Curry. Pay attention to the experience of walking my dog, not everything else I have to do that day. I begin to define my intentions for the day. If you don't have a dog, ignore this step but setting intensions is still important.Step 2. Prepare Golden MilkStep 3. Take B12, I use sublingual liquid 5000 mcg, Magnesium Oil Topical Spray, 1/2 tsp Zinc, 2 tsp Echinacea.Step 4. Drink Golden Milk while Journaling.
